DDA Chapter 18

We're hanging in there. The girls finally got over their GI thing, eventually, and now Elise has what I hope is just a cold. She was just congested, then for a day or two she bordered bronchilitic, now she's back to what seems like just a cold. In spite of that, we still had 10 babies over to play this morning! :faint:

Glad to hear you guys are beginning to feel better. Sorry about the car and migraines, though. :sad2: Is the car working okay now?

I'm home from my first job of the day. Why is there always one kid in every class that has to test the substitute. And why is that same person suprised when I send them to the office? Oh well. I need to leave in an hour for job #2. Tomorrow I will be subbing the entire day.

Marci sent me the list of exercise points. Heck I need to eat an entire extra meal for all my exercise point  No wonder I'm not losing.

You go on being the enforcer! Word will get around not to mess with you. :thumbsup2 Good luck incorporating all your new points!

Lindsay,
Hi!!!

Yes I got my first ever pin code this year!!! We have the buy 4 get 3 deal for the 1st week we are at Disney & the free dining with pin for the 2nd week. For us the free dining works out way better but at least we have some discount for the trip. If we were staying in NY we'd have FD for the whole trip as we go later in August. However the kids new school starts Aug 25 so we had to move it up.

Congrats on the pin code! Sounds like you guys will have the best of both worlds, although I could see FD being the better deal for your family of 5 staying at ASMu. I definitely think the 4/3 deal works best for the more expensive deluxes.

Good luck on the offer! :wizard:

Thanks for asking Lindsay-his condition is pretty much the same as it was monday-He is still in critical condition. They are having a candlelight vigil tomorrow and a beef and beer on Sunday. I am trying to find out information so I can figure out if I can go.

Continued prayers for him and his family. :wizard:

Hi Lindsay! I hope you are healthy again? Any luck on the job front? I've been thinking about you and hope something comes along quickly. :wizard:

I can't make a ressie for BLT until the 22nd. Only owners can book now. We'll see how it goes!

I'm getting more healthy. I haven't begun the job search yet, but am starting soon. I'm not looking forward to it, but that's life I guess!

I'll be interested to hear how you fare on the 22nd!

I am slowly uploading some pictures from our trip. I am disappointed in some of them. I tried to be carefull taking pictures, but for some reason, I must have had the wrong setting on my camera, and about half of them are blurred!:sad2:

Can't wait to see your pics, Tom! I'm sorry you've got some that are blurry.

 Are you being serious? Sarcastic? You have me worried now! :rotfl: Each stack has two outfits, either the same or similar. Does that make it better? I'm not positive we'll have enough of warm weather vs cooler weather... but I THOUGHT we might. I hope we do, considering I'm not sure those will fit! :faint:

ETA: I'm glad you've been able to keep up somewhat on the blog. I haven't even been as diligent with that as of late, but I've definitely been a bit better!

When I first saw your pics, I was thinking it didn't look like enough, either, but then I realized that you've got them in stacks of 2 (but of course!). That way, it does look a bit better. :thumbsup2 I have no doubt your children will be fully clothed while visiting the parks.

(Although that reminds me of one of the worst things I've ever seen at a Disney park - a child walking down Main St. with nothing on but a saggy diaper before the start of the parade during the Christmas party. :scared: )

So I was in a fowl mood all day today. Someone at work said something to me yesterday that just set me off. She isn't really a friend so I shouldn't care what she said. We have mutual friends and often have lunch together. I really need to just get over it. So I stopped at the liquor store on the way home and now I can't see my monitor with my glasses on or off.:rotfl:

At lunch I did some number crunching and have determined that the DDP will actually work well for Joe & I. My DDE expires 2/28/09 and you have to spend $300 to break even on that. I can get DDP for about $350 so that seems like the way to go. I've got (or will change to) booked Boma dinner, Narcoosees, California Grill, Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg, and San Angel for Cinco de Mayo. So when I added up those meals it was close to $300 so the DDP would also give up 2 snacks a day and 2 CS meals a day. And using the TS points on 2 signature meals will mean I won't feel like all we are doing is dining. I think it will work nicely for us. I'll pay OOP for CP for breakfast. My coworker who's going with us to that one meal has DDE so that works out nicely too.

Bernadette - I'm a big believer in liquid pain relief. ;) Boo for the rude coworker! Sounds like DxDP will be a great fit for you and Joe!

so I found out that on tues and thur my Chriopractor has massage therapist their that do 30 min massages instead of 10 min, prior to the adjustment. so I had a massage, then muscle stem then adjustment then back on muscle stem, was still in a lot of pain. so had to go get xrays to make sure that I had not some how cracked or broke one of my ribs as that is where the pain is. No break or fractures noted thankfully. The pain has eased some but he does not want me going back to work till next tues.

She said I must be a trust fund baby to be able to afford all my WDW trips. Dumping on me because I go to WDW is one thing but the trust fund baby thing is really insulting. My Dad died when I was 6. I got a paper route when I was 11 and started working at 14. DH & I have made lots of frugal choices-we don't go out to eat, rarely get take out, don't drink much (I probably bought my 2nd 6 pack tonight in about 3 or 4 years), don't smoke, don't have too many fancy toys (uh....Nikon and sewing machine are new vices....).....anyways the trust fund thing implies I've never worked for anything, don't appreciate what I have or others that don't have. It really touched a nerve with me. I didn't go to the cafeteria for lunch today. Maybe I'll skip tomorrow too and Monday is a holiday.

Bernadette, the fact that she said this multiple times (not just once out of jealousy, and perhaps regretted it the minute it came out of her mouth) makes me think you should say something to her, similar to what Elizabeth said. She could get herself into some real trouble if she goes around assuming things about people's lives like that. I know I had someone in Jonathan's family that made a comment about me before we got married, and I wish to this day I didn't let it go, as it was wholly inappropriate and untrue. I'm sure you have a great reputation at your workplace since you've been there so long, but at the same time, I wouldn't want her to be spreading things about you that are untrue. Good luck! :wizard:

Nice pictures, Tom!

Agreed! Leighanna is such a doll.

I don't think we will ever stay there again. I should say you couldn't pay my wife enough money to ever set foot there again. The resort was nice enough, but what we found in our room on our last day as we were packing up, sickened us to the point that we will never stay there again.
All I can say is that housekeeping is VERY poor, and our room was not properly cleaned prior to us getting there. Actually, during our whole stay, we felt the room was not properly cleaned. We didn't complain though, because usually we were so tired from a long day at the parks, all we wanted to do was lay down and crash. Unfortunately, we didn't discover how true that was until our last day there.

Does anyone know who or where I would write to. We really need to voice our complaint to someone other than who we did. They did nothing, but apologize and send us on our way. They even stated that POP was rated the number 2 resort in the country and number 4 in the world. I found that hard to believe considering all the other resorts that are out there, Disney or not!

If anyone is curious about what I am referring to you can PM me. I don't want to hurt any of the POP lovers out there!

Oh, Tom, I'm so sorry to hear this. You should definitely not let this go. I would send a letter, an e-mail, and follow-up with a phone call to make sure they receive your comments from all sides. I'm appalled that whatever it was, that they didn't handle it better. And please, Pop being the #2 resort in the country?!!?!? I don't think it would rank as #2 on Disney property, let alone country-wide. Sounds like you were dealing with a real winner.

My BIL and his family stayed at ASMo back in '05, and before they left, their infant found a medicine caplet on the floor (that wasn't theirs) and swallowed it. They ended up having to go to the ER for treatment, etc., etc. ASMo did own up to the issue and comp part of their stay and the hospital bills, but that just drives home how sloppy housekeeping can be such a safety risk, not to mention gross!

If you don't mind PM'ing me, I'd like to hear of your experience. I have some friends kicking around staying at Pop soon, and I'd like to let them know if there is an inherent, irreparable problem there.

I hope you get the restitution that is appropriate for what you guys dealt with.

Thanks Elin, but I don't want to take any really good drugs until "Baby Watch" is over. I talked to her about an hour ago, looks like we may make it until Tuesday, but I want to be able to get to the hospital if I need to.

Brandon had to call and tell me about his tooth, he lost his first one today and thinks it's really neat that he can sstick his tongue out of the hole. :rotfl:

Congrats to Brandon! I hope you can get some sleep, Debbie, and that your dental pain will subside. :wizard:

So I am finally home for the night. I was home for a bit after the funeral and luncheon, but then left to head to a meeting for work.

We had another viewing this morning at the funeral home. It was an hour, but should have been a half an hour. During the viewing the power went out temporarily, I am assuming due to the crazy winds.

Then we had the service. It was nice, but poor Ricky was balling his eyes out. The poor kid, he is 11. I do not blame him though since he lost 3 Grandparents in about 5 weeks.

After the service when they closed the casket my Grandma lost it. The funeral home really did not want anybody in there when they closed the casket but they wanted to be there. She did calm down and was alright the rest of the day. But I think it really hit her then.

Then we all rode over to the cemetery. They tried so hard to put a tent up, but there was no way it was happening due to the wind. We noticed that there was a small bus sitting there. Well we thought we were having only 2 people show up to do the military service with the flag. There was about 12 of them.

They folded the flag, did a 21 gun salute and then a trumpeter played taps. I thought the trumpeter was going to blow away, cause the wind was blowing so bad and we could see him fighting it. Grandpa had been in the Army and on Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.

I need to head to bed. But I wanna get caught up first. Hopefully I will sleep better then the past few nights. But then again the winds are crazy and noisy again.

I hope that all of you are doing well.

Wow, Becky, what a hard day for all. Lots of   to your family.

Have a wonderful time!

the past week it has been warm enough to wear capris or shorts and sandals around hear. Olivia had to get new sandals as her old ones were too small. My 51/2 yr old wears a size 3 in shoes. I think she might end up with feet biger then me.

(yes, I know it's Freddie, but I couldn't find a Jason)

Tom nice pictures. :goodvibes

And trust me, I am sure what ever you found won't be any worse then what I found when I used to work as a housekeeper. And I think I have a pretty good idea what it might have been that you found.

I wish that it wasn't on so late, I'd like to watch it more often. On Mon. they are running an Ace of Cakes marathon.

I am going to watch the rest of "Ace of Cakes" and go to bed. See you all in the morning. :wave2:

Debbie, hope you were able to get some sleep and that the pain goes away fast. :wizard:

Becky 2009 is sounding as bad for you as 2006 was for me.

Bernadette sorry your co-worker was rude. I don't confront people usually, but think I would have had to say something to her.
