Ok, I need your suggestions. I am going to a surprise birthday lunch for a friend of mine tomorrow. The host is providing dessert, and all the rest of us are to bring something else. I'm waffling between Corn Risotto, or Quinoa Tabbouleh. Any thoughts? I know that the quinoa would be more filling, but the corn risotto is really good, too. What to do? What to do?
Since I have no idea what either one is, I say go with whatever is easiest to make. :thumbsup2

I am not bragging but I was really lucky to meet Hal when I did. Yes, I was three months shy of 16 but I had had to grow up fast in my family. We all suffered abuse and some people would say I wanted to get out of my home situation. When I first saw Hal, something came over me and I told myself that I was going to marry him and he was always going to keep me safe. We talked about that at great length later on and he admitted he felt the same thing. Most of the three years until we got married, we were always living far apart because of the Navy. There was a lot of letters and phone calls. That really was a true test of love. There have been a few rough spots and when it was necessary, we went for counseling.

I would not change anything about our life. Yes, he is getting older, but I am too. he is getting quite like his grandfather,,,grumpy. If I get him to visit WDW, I will be lucky. He is refusing to fly. That is his problem. But he will continue to take care of me. That was our promise to each other.

 That is wonderful to hear, Terry. :goodvibes

I guess I'm off to bed. We took the kids swimming and Colby stuck to me like velcro which is totally unusual for him. I guess he needed some Mommy time. Hunter wasn't out of reach much of the time either :goodvibes We came home and I made dinner then we were off to my SIL's birthday party. My DB had cake and ice cream for her. We came home and have managed to get two kids to bed, the other will go soon. I need to medicate and feed Riley then I can drift off myself. Sweet Disney Dreams my Friends:love:

No, no, no. I wanted to hear that it got better before 30. Katrina is 23 and is still in the same situation.

With my two oldest, Howie got married at 30 and Guenna was married at 28. Steve will get married but not for a while and he just turned 30.

They each had to go thru their own lives. Hal and I had to keep stepping back even though we really wanted to intervine. It hurts when they hurt, but you have to step back. They knew that our life was a fluke starting out so young. They appreciated that we offered assistance, but also said that we didn't crowd when we liked their choice. That was always the hardest because we would not understand why they would break up.

The biggest compliment was that they appreciated our standing by but not stepping in. It is tough being the parent.

Back when I was about 13, my mom had scarlet fever. There was a sign on the back door advising she was contageous. That was a scary time.

my internet has been off and on all day...mainly off. There is a grid outage somewhere near here and since Qwest is the main business internet provider they had to have been working furiously in this business hub.

The test results work quickly...I have an interview at 11:00 on Thursday with the enviromental agency in the city and county of Denver. :cool1:

 :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

I just got home from Smokey Bone's a little while ago. I enjoyed my food and drinks.

Too many people in my office are sick. One sounds horrible, had been out of work a few days, been sick for over a week has still not went to the Dr. says she is self-medicating. I can not get sick. I can not get sick.

:wizard: :grouphug: to all of you. If you are sick feel better soon. If you are frustrated by others I hope they see things more clearly.

I need to go to bed as I am exhausted. Night all.

Remember watching the cartoon where the old guy is sitting in the rocker and his foot is propped up on a pillow? The big toe is all red and throbbing. That is how my back feels. I stayed home today cause it was acting up again.

It seems when the weather is changing, it gets all tight and really hurts. Of course when I am home, I can take the muscle relaxants. Really frustrating.

We had to get a new router for our internet service. It seems that our one cat likes to lay on the router for the warmth and then it would fall off of the tv stand. today it finally decided to quit. It just took over an hour to get the new one hooked up. Hal was not a happy camper.

Good luck!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Princess has staphylococcal scarlet fever. Or the remnants of it. Dr. gave her Omnicef to kill any remaining staph she may be harboring, and said her rash & peeling fingertips will resolve on their own.

:scared1: poor princess:wizard: that she gets well fast and has no lasting effects

Deb glad you had a good 1st day at work!

Gary & I went shopping yesterday, he wanted some new jeans. He ended up getting those along with a couple shirts & a pair of shoes. When he showed me the shoes I thought they were the ugliest things :rotfl: Once he put them on they looked pretty good though. I wasn't planning on getting anything, but I did find 2 tops & pair of slip on shoes on clearance that I liked. Total cost for my 3 items, $15 :thumbsup2

Hi Janet. Good deal on the shopping spree!

I hope that you don't get sick, but it sounds like you might want to pack some OTC meds just in case. You need to keep moving at WDW :wizard:

Dragging myself out of bed this morning was a chore. I am so not a morning person. I wonder how long it will take for my body to adjust? I've been in bed by 10 PM too :confused3 Of course I'm waking up a million times during the night and checking the clock. Hopefully I will get into a routine quickly.

2 of the three fingers that I hurt are killing me. Both of the missing skin areas are on the joints and everytime I bend them I want to cry. Of course bandaids won't stay on so I just need to tough it out. I keep thinking that they will feel better tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes :lmao:

I need to get ready. TTYL
