my internet has been off and on all day...mainly off. There is a grid outage somewhere near here and since Qwest is the main business internet provider they had to have been working furiously in this business hub.

The test results work quickly...I have an interview at 11:00 on Thursday with the enviromental agency in the city and county of Denver. :cool1:

Good luck!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Princess has staphylococcal scarlet fever. Or the remnants of it. Dr. gave her Omnicef to kill any remaining staph she may be harboring, and said her rash & peeling fingertips will resolve on their own.

Ok, I need your suggestions. I am going to a surprise birthday lunch for a friend of mine tomorrow. The host is providing dessert, and all the rest of us are to bring something else. I'm waffling between Corn Risotto, or Quinoa Tabbouleh. Any thoughts? I know that the quinoa would be more filling, but the corn risotto is really good, too. What to do? What to do?

Poor Princess! Here's hoping she feels better soon!

icky!! I didn't realize she had a rash. Poor Princess, it doesn't sound very comfortable.

ummmmm, I've never had either so I don't know that I would be of much help:rotfl:

4 hours and my load was finally done....after folding it I realized I had way too many sweat material pieces in there...no more of that!!

Eeewwww I hope she is okay. That sounds horrible. Can anyone else catch it?

First of all you need to explain to normal people what corn risotto and quinoa tabbouleh are? :lmao: I have no idea what either of these are. :confused3 :rotfl:

Thanks! She actually doesn't seem to feel bad. We were just starting to worry about her.

icky!! I didn't realize she had a rash. Poor Princess, it doesn't sound very comfortable.

The rash is like tiny goose bumps from the nape of her neck down to her knees. She feels like very fine grade sandpaper. We figured it was a viral rash (which it is, kind of) but we didn't think it should last for 12 days.

If it was contagious that would have been back when she had the fever. I guess if there is still staph in her nose or throat she could potentially spread it. The Dr. didn't say anything about contagion, and now she is on antibiotics.

Glynis, I think both dishes sound good. :)

Marci - I agree that your sister was out of line with the Easter clothes.

Elizabeth - I hope your eye is better tonight!

Thanks for asking. :goodvibes Friday, her fever was gone but I took her to work with me because I didn't want her running around, etc. Saturday, she played her basketball game, no problem. Saturday afternoon, she took a 2.5 hour nap at my parents' house and woke up with a fever again. Yesterday morning, it was gone, last night it was back. This morning gone again, but Craig's at the doctor with her right now. She's still really stuffy. It sounds packed up there.

I hope the doctor had some answers for you all. Poor Stephanie.

ETA: I see that you got answers... just not the ones you were looking for. :(

Thanks, Elin. Unfortunately, it's not better. Momboss said "Elizabeth! Your eye is REALLY red!" I think she was alarmed. I told her it's just a stye, so no need to be alarmed. I'm really thinking about trying the tea bag thing.

Colby had that once. I didn't realize that it was staph related, but it was called scarlet fever. No one else caught it and he recovered in a week or so.

I don't want her growing up to be a doormat. For whatever reason I ended up a strong woman, and I especially want that for my daughter, to be able to make her way in the world without relying on anyone, especially a man.

A-MEN!

I've been doing laundry all day, too. I hate it! It seems like it's never done!

Everything you say is oh, so true. But you also have to remember that Diva is a child. She thinks and reacts like a child and needs guidance, but obviously doesn't want it! Again, typical child behavior. I remember knowing the Bob was the right boy for me when I was 16. Nothing anyone said to me was going to make a difference because I was all grown up!

I am glad I picked a decent one, but there are certainly times I wish I had been grown up enough to listen to my Mom and Dad. The rest of your life is a helluva long time! ;)

I am not bragging but I was really lucky to meet Hal when I did. Yes, I was three months shy of 16 but I had had to grow up fast in my family. We all suffered abuse and some people would say I wanted to get out of my home situation. When I first saw Hal, something came over me and I told myself that I was going to marry him and he was always going to keep me safe. We talked about that at great length later on and he admitted he felt the same thing. Most of the three years until we got married, we were always living far apart because of the Navy. There was a lot of letters and phone calls. That really was a true test of love. There have been a few rough spots and when it was necessary, we went for counseling.

I would not change anything about our life. Yes, he is getting older, but I am too. he is getting quite like his grandfather,,,grumpy. If I get him to visit WDW, I will be lucky. He is refusing to fly. That is his problem. But he will continue to take care of me. That was our promise to each other.

Elizabeth - I hope Princess is going to get to feeling better really soon!

For these two reasons especially, I think Alyssa will turn out a fine young woman! That's not to say there won't be times you butt heads, of course, as I had a phenomenal support system in my parents and still almost ended up with a loser... but it IS to say that I am confident that as these things remain true, she will ultimately make good decisions and value who She is! :goodvibes
Thank you, and everyone else, for your votes of confidence.

Cute princess outfits. WTG, Becky!
