DDA Chapter 17

Marci - loved the new installment... great pictures too!

Tammi - Love the ticker... I guess you booked OBX!

Kelli - May is niiiiiiiiice. :)

Good Morning, DDA!!

Today is our hockey game in a suite day....so I am getting excited for that.
Hopefully the icky storm is done for everybody and the weather will be nice for the weekend.

Have fun, Theresa! :cool1:

Thanks! It's not official yet, until I find out if the kids' dad will switch weekends with me. Have I mentioned how I hate having to ask permission to take my children somewhere! Once I get the go-ahead, I'm booking a friend's beachfront condo in NC. THEN it will be definite! I'm so excited. :cool1: We haven't been to the beach in about 4 years.

Well, I guess I jumped the gun. Are you hoping for June sometime? And where exactly is the condo?

It's the week after school lets out...June 21. This way Bethany can go with us before she heads off to spend the summer with her mom. It's a comprise since she will miss our August trip.

Jennifer - I have not found anything My Friends Tigger and Pooh. For that aspect, I think I'm going to print some stuff off of the Playhouse Disney website. They have that "Celebration Center" area where there's a bunch of party ideas and printables.

Well, Erin showed up over here today for a little while. All I have to say is that I will not feel guilty. It didn't go terribly bad, but her response was a very exasperated, fed up (but not just with me, I know) "I guess I'll just tell them that I can't work Saturdays anymore." She did go on to say that it wasn't just me, she's tired of the way her work Saturdays have been going. But she also threw in a few "because I don't have anyone else" and "I don't have another options." I figure I've got to take it all with a grain of salt and let it slide off my back. Not always easy because, as I'm sure she knows, I feel guilty pretty easily. It was almost a little tempting to give in a little, but I knew that I just couldn't. Not for me sanity and not for the sake of my family. Instead, I just reiterrated my willingness to help on a certain Saturday of the month. Offered to do so on the 1st Saturday and still help this Saturday since it's short notice. That would give her a little over a week to make other arrangements. Now to just remind myself, I should not feel guilty and make plans with Terra for the first Saturday after that. :)

I'm glad you held your ground. You need Saturdays for house hunting anyway. I'm sure she can make other arrangements if she puts her mind to it. We all have to juggle our schedules to accomodate taking care of our OWN kids.

I had a post all typed up, but the computer ate it or it went with Elins tree etc :confused3 It was a fairly easy day at school, not bad for my first full day. I have a 1/2 day next week for sure and a full day on the 13th so at least I know that I will be getting time there. She suspected that I'll get a call tomorrow morning, but we'll see. I also found out that Nick got straight A's, but report cards don't come out until tomorrow  I'm not sure if I should tell him tonight or let him sweat it out another day. I work tomorrow night, so we could celebrate tonight, but then if Hunter gets straight A's tomorrow he might be disappointed that we can't celebrate then too. Such a conundrum. Maybe I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Colby and I came home for an hour then we need to pick up the older boys from play practice. I think we will go finish the paperwork for our pool membership after that providing that Chris is available.

Good for you, Tia! Don't you dare feel guilty! Terra has to come first, and if you're constantly watching other people's kids, you don't have time for special mommy and daughter time. You did exactly the right thing.

I'm so proud of you for sticking to your guns!

I totally agree with Glynis.

Well, I just checked my emails....it didn't take long to get the thanks but no thanks email from yesterday. BLECH!!:crazy2:

Oh, GOOD! Now the landscape guys are here to mow. Because the men digging up the fence posts weren't making enough noise on their own.

Tia - Good for you! DO NOT be guilted into babysitting for Erin more than the ONE Saturday you agree to. She is a grown-up, so she needs to figure it out.

Theresa - Ouch. I am sorry about the job.
