DDA Chapter 17

well yesterday was a much better day at work. It was a very nice day.

Glad you had a good day.
Robyn - I am glad you had fun!!

Jennifer - so glad to hear work was better.

Thanks!!

Well, he did ok. Luckily, he didn't have to drive. The hosts of the conference hired drivers, so he was good. He sounds like he's having a great time. It's his birthday on Friday, and some of his friends are taking him out to dinner.

I'm glad that Kathrin is safe. It's so scary to think of our loved ones having to drive in dangerous conditions.

Sounds like he is having a great trip.

Theresa -- good luck with the job! :wizard:

We have freezing fog this morning, but it seems to be a problem only in one spot (fairly close to Elizabeth). My car is acting like it doesn't want to start. I'm praying it's the battery and nothing more expensive. I'll try to leave work later to get that checked.

Have a good day everyone!

I hope the car repair is inexpensive.

Sounds like a nice night, Robyn. I'm glad to hear that Christine is doing well.

It was!!

Good morning, DDA! Well, the snow has postponed our house looking until tomorrow. No more bad roads, just lots of unshoveled drives and walks and we don't want to track in too much snow in houses. Gotta see what houses I want to add to the visit list also since the Realtor thinks we have time for a few more.

I've also got to get some stuff done for Terra's birthday party. I remembered that there was some stuff from the Imagination Movers website that I wanted to order. Plus, I need to figure out what and where I can get something Charlie and Lola without needing to go the UK route (aka longer shipping time). Ack. I swear this party's going to sneak up on me and I'll be going crazy again at the last minute. (You know, like just about everything else. )

Birthday Express has some Charlie & Lola, not much though.

Morning, DDA! :wave2:

Well, it seems that Craig has come around to my way of thinking ::yes:: We're now looking at May. Of course, it all had to do with the price of airfare is outrageous for March. LOL

May is good!!

I find the term "freezing fog" absolutely hilarious. I can't say it out loud without bursting into laughter. This is problematic in the car, because if they say it on the radio it makes me laugh until my eyes water. Then the visibility is even worse than it was with JUST the freezing fog.

:rotfl:

Good Morning, DDA!!

Today is our hockey game in a suite day....so I am getting excited for that.
Hopefully the icky storm is done for everybody and the weather will be nice for the weekend.

Sounds like it's going to be a fun night!!!

Thank you. It's not official yet, until I find out if the kids' dad will switch weekends with me. Have I mentioned how I hate having to ask permission to take my children somewhere! Once I get the go-ahead, I'm booking a friend's beachfront condo in NC. THEN it will be definite! I'm so excited. :cool1: We haven't been to the beach in about 4 years.

Sounds like a fun time, pixiedust: that getting the weekends switched will not be a problem!

I giggled at Marci saying "freezing fog" but I laughed out loud at your description. Don't listen to the weather in "freezing fog" while in the car.

How exciting! Are you going today or this weekend?

Tonight!! Since none of us follow hockey we probably won't last too long but it will be fun to see what a suite is like in the Pepsi Center. I have to remember to take Stanley.

Hopefully you weren't near the high 5 (which was opened and then closed much of the morning because it became slick and cars couldn't navigate it) when you had your giggling fit. We've had this problem several times, and the first couple of times it happened this year, our radio DJ kept saying freezing frog...:rotfl:

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of experiencing it, it's extremely dense fog, which freezes, especially on tall, elevated ramps. The other morning's they've mentioned a possibility, there didn't seen to be any real problems around the metroplex. Today, it was causing major problems.

Well I hope you have a great time & don't forget the camera!

Birthday Express has some Charlie & Lola stuff.

Thanks! I can't remember if I had looked there or not. To date, my best bets had been eBay (UK sellers) and Amazon UK. Ty's Toy Box sells some things, but they are marked up pretty high. I'll have to check out Birthday Express because there are several things there that I might order. Too bad Party City doesn't have a better Disney selection as I just got a coupon from there. I do need to go there soon though as they have select pinatas on sale for $5. Terra always wants a pinata, but I had to spend much on it.

have you seen any my friends tigger and Pooh stuff. I have looked at party city and birthday express and have not found anything.

what? You have never heard of "BEWARE OF THE POGONIP"

Never heard of it. Is it funny? Is it like a chupacabra? I was actually wondering what sort of creatures might lurk in freezing fog, and that just made it funnier.

Sounds like a fun time, pixiedust: that getting the weekends switched will not be a problem!

Ditto! :)

I guess I should have turned a CD on, huh?

You couldn't pay me to drive on the High 5 in GOOD weather.
I was on Park Lane in front of NorthPark when I was laughing, because I couldn't even see the door to Macy's from the street.

Just wanted to let you know that the surgery yesterday went well for my cousin and she was home that same day. The doctor did say however that had they waited just one more day to do the surgery that her one eardrum would have burst. Thanks for all the pixiedust you all sent. :)

Deb I take it you didn't get any ice?

No more than usual. There is plenty of ice on the roads and under the snow, but not on top.

what? You have never heard of "BEWARE OF THE POGONIP"

Nope

Freezing Fog :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh you mean winter :lmao:

I'm on lunch break...kindof...
I ate with Colby's class and thought I had 1/2 hour free, but 8th graders came in for their lunch. Apparently the art teacer lets them do so, but she didn't mention it in her sub notes.

I am glad it went well. Did you send over vanilla ice cream??:goodvibes

Well, crap. The guys are here to tear down the old fence and now my car is blocked in the garage. We need to go to the grocery store. Hmm. Think, think, think. I guess we'll have to maybe go to the grocery store after ballet, unless they finish what they are doing in time for me to go before Princess takes her nap. I REALLY hope they don't leave any fence nails in the driveway.

:rotfl:

pogonip is another word for frozen fog.....when it happens here, the kids run around yelling..beware of the pogonip. can you tell weather is a big past time in this house
