Wednesday and New Years Eve Part I
Animal Kingdom opened up at 7 today, but I just couldnt get up early enough to check the bags and get there for opening. Instead, we left around 7:30, which gave us time to leave our bags with the bellman and have breakfast. We got over there about 7:45, and waited until 8 to get on the first set of safari trucks.
Here we are at Festival of the Lion King I LOVE that show!
I dont remember the order, but we did all the rides/shows we wanted to go on and had lunch at Pizzafari. At 10:45 Aaron got a page that MK was at stage 3. I felt sorry for all of the people who were trying to get in to MK and werent staying on property. I wasnt feeling well, so we left AK about 1 or so. By the time we got over to go through the MK entrance to get to our hotel, the lines to get in to MK were backed way up. People were giving the CMs a hard time about the park closing, so they had to bring in supervisors (we could see their cars cutting across to the main gates through the grass) to talk to the angry patrons. I felt so bad for those people waiting in line, as I knew what the hold-up was and knew they werent getting in quiet yet. We probably sat in that line 20 minutes or so.
If you look closely at the sign in this pic, it says to stay in your vehicle. So, Randy took a pic of the man in the car in front of us out of his vehicle
We finally made it back to the hotel and got the keys changed for our new room. It had a gorgeous Castle view AND the daybed. (We watched Wishes from here every night and really took advantage of the view. It was also nice that we didnt have to worry about Jake. The other nights, he had been standing on a chair so he could look out to the left to see the fireworks, though we could only see the really high ones since Sugar Loaf blocked our view.)
I went down to the concierge desk to ask them about urgent care facilities, since everything over the counter I had been taking for my sinus infection wasnt working and I was miserable... in my Happy Place even
so I must have felt bad. They gave me fliers for two places who make house calls (there was no way I was getting caught outside that gate again and I honestly didnt feel like driving anyway.) I started our laundry (of course, the washer wouldnt work at first) and Randy finished it up. The boys were watching TV, playing Webkinz and other games, so I called the service. I have already fulfilled my deductible due to all the PT I did on my shoulder (that didnt work), so it wasnt going to cost much to have the doc come to me. The doc arrived around 4, and stayed until I practically pushed him out the door at 5:40. He talked a lot about sinus problems, infections, the meds he was giving me, Disney, how to file insurance etc. He also gave me my first round of medicine and arranged for the pharmacy to deliver my meds (for $5!).
While he was doing paperwork/calling the pharmacy to check on one of the regular allergy/sinus drugs I take, Randy and the boys got ready and headed over to our dinner at Yachtsman. I also was able to get my make-up touched up and tried to do a little to my hair. I changed clothes as soon as the doc left and took a taxi to dinner.
