DDA Chapter 17

I got my first nibble on Craigslist, for a Little People dollhouse I listed for $15. Now here is my dilemma. Should I give the money to Alyssa?

I wouldn't just give it to Alyssa. I might give it to her for her "Disney" fund or for savings for college or something. When we had garage sales, the girls got the money if they assisted only.

Theresa do you have a recipe for your fried rice?

Elin the recipe you posted sounds good!

Tammi I would put the money back for Alyssa to use when you go on vacation or if she see's something while you are out shopping that she really wants.

ready (this is all my own making up):

melt butter in pan.

Scramble however many eggs you would like...I usually use one less than the people eating

when they are almost done put in your leftover or just made rice (I used a cup last night and still have leftovers) cooked veggies ( I use frozen veggies warmed in the microwave) and soy sauce to make the rice the color you want (about 2 tbsp).
Keep stirring around until hot. You may need to add more soy sauce.

Serve

Chuck said Concourse as well but I'm not sure if the steak was that good or if it was the company. That was when we had dinner with Stephanie & her sister. We had one of the most enjoyable meals that I have ever had.
That was one of the best days I have ever had at Disney. Kevin and I were talking about that evening just last night. And it was definitly the company that made the meal. We tried to recreate it a few days later and it just wasn't the same.

So today I spent most of the day at Relay Leadership University for Relay for Life. Then I came home took a nap. Have been wading through my 200 emails. Plus working on planning entertainment and activities for Relay.

It is a nice change of pace from all the normal work stuff. Although it is quite similar it is different enough to be good.

I think Monday I will be attending my third viewing/funeral of the year. Craziness given it is only January 24th. I am not 100% sure if I can go or not.

I have totally fallen off the band wagon this week. Then again most days I left here around 7ish and got home around 10 pm ish.Monday I am starting over again.

We will be heading over to my MILs tomorrow. We have been enjoying our time with her.

Thank you Theresa!

Ooh before I forget, if ya have any pixiedust to spare, my little cousin (4) is going Wed. to have tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in the ears.

You got it!

I talked to my mom and dad tonight. They booked an 11 night Panama Canal cruise on RCL!!! It's not until Nov., and they are sailing out of Miami. They also have their TA pricing out a 2 week trip to Hawaii, Maui and Kaui. They need to start taking me on their trips with them like I take them to WDW with me! ;)

I agree!

cute, Elin!

Happy Birthday Amy! I hope all the kids sleep well tonight, and you do, too.

Elin - I like your new siggie pic!! :goodvibes

I do too. What a beautiful family. I hope my kids still enjoy being with me and each other when they are older.

Lindsay glad to hear Johnathan is doing ok. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your trip.

Elin love the picture in your signature! How are you feeling today?

My stomach is still cramping a little, but for the mot part I think I am much better than yesterday.

I hope the cramping is gone. :grouphug:

I am going to ask for some spare pixie dust for a close family friend, our Godson's father. Terry was diagnosed a few months back with increased intercranial fluid. Basically he has an excess of spinal fluid and it has led to severe headaches that he has found very little relief from the medicine used to treat it. He has had 3 spinal taps to determine how much fluid he has, his last one was registered at 46. A normal reading is no more than 12. Ironically, I had the same diagnosis just about 3 1/2 years ago but mine was controlled with medicine and my only side effect was in regards to my vision.

He was supposed to have surgery this coming Friday where they will put a shunt into his head that will continously drain the fluid. He called me yesterday saying that the pain/pressure had become unbearable and was going up to the hospital. His dr. is now deciding if they are going to do the surgery today. So I'm hoping that I can count on all of you to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers today. If they do surgery I will be headed up to there to be with my girlfriend.

At some point today, I also need to decorate 2 cakes for Dana's DD, Syd. Her birthday party is tomorrow and since there will be close to 70 people there I took the easy way out and ordered 2 cakes from Costco that I will just decorate with Tinkerbell.

Prayers said. I hope the cakes are finished and you can rest some.

Good Morning DDA

I am feeling a bit better today. Lots of sleep helped.

When it comes to putting together my potato salad for the party, I will have Hal actually mix the ingredients.

Our cats have their back claws and I have a few good scars from them!!! Just on the legs and arms tho'

I hope you continue to feel better.

Get some more rest today. You don't want a relapse.

Very nice picture. I hope the cold passes quickly.

pixiedust: Robyn I hope your friend finds relief in the surgery and that they can figure out what is causing the extra fluid.

:wizard: to those that are still sick. Sleep is the best cure.

I am feeling so much better today. Of course I slept about 18 hours yesterday. I got extra sleep the day before too. Thankfully the aches and pains are gone. I will take a nap this afternoon before we head out to Disney on Ice. Nick woke up with a nasty cold sore this morning and he is complaining that he doesn't feel to great. He is still upbeat. He is staying with my parent's tonight as he didn't care to see the show. Hopefully the cold sore meds will kick in and he will be feeling better too.

I'm glad you are feeling better and hope you guys had a great time.

Happy Birthday Amy

Well talk about cutting it close, the shower is tomorrow and I just finished this,

It didn't come out exactly as I had pictured, she'll be able to use it when she's a toddler.

We are keeping Brandon tonight but we found out last night that a family friend has passed away so we'll be taking him with us to the wake. I won't take him into the viewing area, we'll take turns going in and giving our condolences, I think it's too soon for him, and certainly something his parents should explain to him.

Very cute. I really treasure the things people have made for me.

I think I would put it aside in the Disney fund, or you could use it for the MagicQuest game at GWL. My boys love to play it.

Elin -- I just restarted WW today, and I signed up for the meetings and computer e-tools thing. My weekends are as busy or busier than during the week, so this gives me flexibility. I have to say WW has really changed my life, as I have been eating healther overall, and it's been over three years since my last meeting. I want to lose 10 - 12 pounds, and I know it's going to be a struggle, but I wanted to re-start before I let myself get out of hand. That will put me at the upper end of the range for my height, but I think I'll more realistically be able to maintain that weight.

I think I'm going to bed to watch my Disney planning DVD. I want to dream about Disney tonight. I'm getting so excited. We'll be there in less than 5 weeks. :woohoo:

Debbie I love it. I think it is perfect size for a baby or toddler. When she gets older you can take it back and add a picture frame effect by crocheting another color or two around the outside and it will make it bigger. That should buy you a few years time ;)

Last nights dinner, today's lunch and dinner is chinese. All from the same meal, boy do they give you a lot of food.

Speaking of chinese food, do they sell any at Disney? where? and is it any good?

My guess is China ;) :rotfl2: I haven't eaten there though.

Part of the reason is that you have boys and most Moms don't sew for their boys. Now, we have DDA-ers that make everything for their kids, including PJs for all but I think overall, most sewing is done for little girls.

I actually love to sew and do so for my boys. I guess that I'm the only girl that I sew for. The boys have many things that I've made over the years. That makes me an acception to the rule.

You got it!

Marci I usually lose until I'm at the high end of my weight zone. 143 puts me at the high end of norm. I never seem to lose below that line :confused3 When I hit 160 I know that I need to lose again. That is where I was around the Holidays. I just don't feel comfortable carrying the extra weight.

:cool1: :cool1: I'm more than a little jealous too :cool1:

We are home safely from Disney on Ice. It was a terrific show. Hunter even commented on the way home that he understood why Colby would want to see it twice. We loved it. Of course Hunter forgot his camera in the truck and it was way too cold to go back out for it. I did take a bunch of photos on my cell phone though I bet most won't come out. We had terrific seats and they were cheap too. Actually the venue was maybe 1/4 full. The back side was sectioned off due to the stage set up and none of the balcony seating was used. Many of the lower level seating was empty :confused3 It worked out for us as we had an unobstructed view. Colby was so excited and confused. He kept telling us how the arena was different when he was there before :rotfl:  I bet it was different as he saw the show in Boston :lmao: :lmao: He sat on my lap through the first half and kept telling me to get the camera ready as something big was going to happen. Got to love a kid that loves Disney.

The boys are camping out in the living room tonight so I guess I'd better log off and go to bed myself.

Good Night All.

We had a feeling that Jake is allergic to animals -- cats and dogs, from minor little reactions (itching) after being around them when he was younger. We're never home so we don't have a dog, but we have our bionic outside kitty, Jessie, I've often talked about.

Long story short, Jake has step and I was taking him in to Dallas earlier tonight to an urgent care facility. Jessie had gotten in the car when Randy was taking plastic bins out of the house after making a run to the recycle place, and gotten shut in. Jake's warm-ups and under-Armor shirt were in there from when he took them off before his baskeball game. Jessie must have laid on them, as he broke out in a pretty massive case of hives by the time we went in the room to be triaged. I think the doc was more concerned about the hives than his high temp /strep.

When I got him home, I had him take a shower to try to help with the hives. He called me in to the bathroom to look at something. Turns out, he had a hidden Mickey hive. I unfortunately didn't take a picture of it. :rotfl:

I had eaten at China before. Before it was reopened. The food was good. You got fun beginner chopsticks that had you Chinese animal year on them. Or maybe we always did as I often went with a CM. They had a loop at the top that connected them together.

Before I started gaining again I was 8 pounds away from the top of my weight range of about 168. Now I am about 30 pounds away. :crazy2: :scared: No more breaking my leg and then turning into a lazy lump.

Poor Jake, but how cool to have a hidden Mickey hive! I feel awful for saying this but I'm glad it was ONLY hives. As I was reading I was getting nervous that you were going to say that Jessie got run over or chopped up in the fan, or something along those lines.
