DDA Chapter 17

Janet-I just got it from the experts mouth (Cassidy)....Garrett should wear a suit jacket. It will more than likely come off right after getting to the dance but for pictures (especially from the description of the dress) have him get a jacket.

She then went on to ask me all about it...you know whether he was going with a girl, etc. :rotfl2:

Did everybody see they have reallocated DVC points for 2010? I had already worked out our points, but now I am going to have to go back and do it again because they changed it all around. An AKV concierge studio is 1 pt. higher Su-Th and 6 points lower on Fr & Sa. I think we will need fewer points, but we also have a season change in there so I really need to go day by day with the chart.

Yes, I did see that, but didn't pay any attention to it since I don't have anything planned that far in advance. It's good to see the weekend points coming down.

Actually the B4G3 deal has been extended until March. Disney must be desperate.

I just saw that. It was not that way last night when I was looking. I still may just do it anyways as I then do not need to worry about coordinating with others for a place to stay.

DS is home and he had a good day. It sounds like he didn't even see either of the coaches. The asst. principal came up to DH and talked to him for a bit in the carpool line. DH told him we are just very concerned about DS being approached after school yesterday. I said "Did you tell him we have e-mailed our attorney?" He didn't, but I kind of think he should have.

They had the Science Fair awards today. DS said they put his project on display in the library but he didn't win anything. Well, duh! Next year we will start earlier and do a cool project. Remind me that I said that.
I asked him if he saw any projects he thought were cool. "No." Of course not.

I could have kept him home today and he wouldn't have missed much, but I guess he was better off going to school since that's where he wanted to be.
Glad to hear DS did well at school. It was good of the asst principal to come out to the carpool line-he should have! but it is good that he actually did it!

Yes. My 3rd grade suggestion is home schooling. Any other questions? ;)

I actually can't remember what DS did in 3rd grade. That may have been the year we added up how many grams of sugar you would consume if you ate one serving of everything they advertised on Saturday AM cartoons in the span of 2 hours. I thought it was brilliant. He didn't even place. :confused3
I think you would just ahead of your time. Sounds like a great idea. I think it would go over very well!

This is a link to what Colby and Hunter's gym teacher did last summer

Deb, your boys' PE teacher has a lot of character!

I woke up this morning and was feeling sick to my stomach. I kept burping and was hoping I would not end up getting really sick. I finally went home and immediately fell asleep. I was supposed to go to my DD's for Pot Pie and see my youngest. Instead, I am here sleeping off and on. I really must get better so I can go to the party tomorrow. :sad1:
pixiedust: Hope you're feeling a lot better tomorrow!

Dang Bernadette that's expensive, but of course maybe not, I don't know anything about material.
That is very expensive! The most I've spent is $8-usually around $4 on sale. The Pooh flannel for Lizzy's PJ's was $2. I was SOOOOOOO excited when I found that remnant on Black Friday-I think I paid about $5 for it.

:lmao: :lmao: Stephanie just told me she has a boyfriend. I said, "oh really? Who is he?" She said, "It's Austin, he just doesn't know it!" :lmao: :lmao:
Too funny!:rotfl2:

Ooh before I forget, if ya have any pixiedust to spare, my little cousin (4) is going Wed. to have tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in the ears.
pixiedust: Poor kid!

I talked to my mom and dad tonight. They booked an 11 night Panama Canal cruise on RCL!!! It's not until Nov., and they are sailing out of Miami. They also have their TA pricing out a 2 week trip to Hawaii, Maui and Kaui. They need to start taking me on their trips with them like I take them to WDW with me! ;)
Have you told them you want to go? Maybe they don't know.;) Maybe you need to whine until they agree to take you.

If I were to buy a standard Magic your way ticket, could I pay to upgrade it to a park hopper at WDW? I am pretty sure I can, but just want to make sure.

Also if I do not use Magical express, what is sent to me?

Thanks!

I am thinking I should book soon as last night all value resorts were available, tonight only one is.

We are trying to budget our DVC points over various hopeful trips that we have planned for the next 4 years :rotfl2: Of course that entails 5 years worth of points. Our biggest problem is not know how many points the hawaiian resort wil charge :confused3

Bernadette - The asst. principal is outside every day because he helps with traffic control in the carpool circle. He didn't make a special trip outside to talk to DH. I would like to think they are nervous about the way they have handled this, but I am not sure that is the case.

I agree... it is only fair! ::yes::

Time for bed... I have a few students coming into the studio tomorrow morning to play concertos with me. Sleep tight, DDA! :goodvibes:

Terry hope you are feeling better so you can enjoy tomorrow pixiedust:

Heidi pixiedust: for your cousin.

Theresa tell Cassidy thank you, I will look into buying a jacket for Garrett :thumbsup2

Tammi your parents trips sound like a lot of fun! Maybe they will surprise you & ask you to join :goodvibes

Elizabeth glad ds had a good day at school. Hopefully he will not be bothered with anymore questioning.

pixiedust: & :grouphug: to all I have missed.

I have slept most of the day away. At least I am not running to the bathroom anymore. I did eat a few pretzels & a little bit of soup, so far so good.

My boss called me earlier & does not want me to work tomorrow, she does not want whatever this is to go around there. I hate losing the hours, but it is probably best. I still need to go in at some point & make out the schedule & Garrett has a dental appointment. So I will have to go out anyway.

I am so glad I took Blue in today, I can't believe how much better she sounds after getting that shot. She has only had one coughing episode since she has been home & her breathing is so much better as well.

I was actually thinking that. We haven't been to that Six Flags since Nick was really little. Seasons Passes are very reasonable. Don't you head up near the one in Mass too?
Never been to the one in Mass. We went to ours once last summer, but it was right after the whole surgery/pass out episode i had going on, so it wasnt too much fun lol

Jewel. They've done Eastern, Western and Alaska, all on RCL.
i loved the jewel! You know im addicted to cruises! hope they have fun planning!

Janet, Elin, Deb, Stephanie, Terry, Bernadette, Marci (and anyone else feeling under the weather) - I hope tomorrow is a vast improvement! pixiedust:

Tammi - I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your "me" night. Your parents' travel schedule sounds incredible! Perhaps they're going to surprise you with an invitation. ;)

Heidi - I think they can work with astygmatism and contacts these days. You should ask your eye doctor about that, and perhaps he could give you a sample pair to try out. Each person is different in how they react to contacts - and I really think it comes down to how comfortable you are with touching your eye (as Theresa pointed out). I could touch my eye all day long with no problems, while Jonathan can't touch his eyes at all (he can't even use eye drops :upsidedow ). Thus, he's a glasses type of guy. He has practically invisible frames made of titanium that are really comfortable for him. Lots of pixiedust: for your little cousin, too.

I'm glad to hear Blue and Pearl are both doing much better!

Beth - I was so sorry to read of your anxiety this morning - I had heard of IBM's lay-offs yesterday, but didn't put two and two together in remembering that that's where your DH works. I hope he remains safe. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Becky - have fun planning your trip! I see that Chanon pointed out the deal has been extended - I noticed that this morning, and had the same thought as she. I'll be really interested to see what crowds look like there early next week.

Deb - thanks so much for your comments earlier today on what we all should be focusing on during these times. You put eloquently into words what I've been thinking. While we will all see our challenges, I know that we can ride this thing out - and sure, perhaps the great vacation will have to be postponed, maybe we really don't need a new pair of black shoes right now, perhaps we can go without going out to eat every week - but those things pale in comparison to being able to keep your homes, your family and your health safe. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Elizabeth - glad to hear all went relatively well at school for DS today. Let's hope it stays that way. :thumbsup2 I'm glad ExMomBoss is clued in, should you need her.

Well, today was a much better day here (anything would be a vast improvement over yesterday!). We took it easy this morning (still a little cooler than normal here, so no beach time as of yet), and then went and ran a few errands, grabbed a bite to eat, and saw Slumdog Millionaire. I would highly recommend you see it if you have the inclination. While I didn't think it was the best movie I've ever seen (as I think some of the awards hype would make you believe), I did think the story was compelling, and I really liked the cinematography and soundtrack to it. My dad spent some of his childhood just outside of Bombay (his dad worked for Exxon, and they lived all over the world due to that), so it was interesting hearing him talk about the cultural things he picked up on, how well he thought things were portrayed as to his memories, etc.

Jonathan is also sounding much better - he's a bit exhausted from all the phone calls he's been on (been providing a lot of support to those looking for headhunters, other jobs in the industry, etc.), but he did at least find out who his new district manager and regional manager are going to be, and he has an inkling as to how his territory is going to pan out. Any information was good to have (uncertainty is such his enemy), and he seems as pleased as can be possible with the changes. They will hit the ground running on Monday a.m. with a big conference call. It should be cold and rainy in Dallas this weekend (actually his favorite type of weather), so hopefully he'll take the time to just rest. He said he had rented a bunch of action/thriller type movies he knows I wouldn't like, and he's just hoping to take it easy. I'm still somewhat wanting to go home, but he thinks I should stay here, so I will for now at least.

Catch you guys in the a.m. - sleep tight, DDA!
