DDA Chapter 17

okay with this economy I am thinking of trying to start a garden. any one have suggestions of good things to grow?

We have done pumpkins, corn, green beans, pole beans, tomatoes, parsley, carrots, red beets, rhubarb, mint tea, various varieties of peppers, potatoes, onions, lettuce, strawberries, peas, zucchini, sunflowers, apples, cucumbers, snow peas and I am sure I am missing something. This was while I was growing up, my parents still have a large garden. Then again my Dad grew up on a large farm and loves to garden. My brother and I helped out a lot in the garden. We loved planting things and then watching them grow. Nothing is better then fruit and veggies straight out off the vine.

You need to find out what climate zone you are in. So you know what will grow in your area. Also this will dictate what time to plant different plants. Soil types vary even in nearby areas.

It sounds like the flu to me too, Deb. Take care of yourself.... :grouphug:

It's not the flu, It's not the flu at all. Why did I have the flu shot? :confused3

I woke up this morning and was feeling sick to my stomach. I kept burping and was hoping I would not end up getting really sick. I finally went home and immediately fell asleep. I was supposed to go to my DD's for Pot Pie and see my youngest. Instead, I am here sleeping off and on. I really must get better so I can go to the party tomorrow. :sad1:

:wizard: Get Better

Deb-how are you feeling tonight??

I am feeling much better though I'm not really moving around. I have significantly less aches and pains. Hopefully the worst is over. I did sleep for over 6 hours today. Hopefully I'll get sleep tonight and be good to go tomorrow.

Dang Bernadette that's expensive, but of course maybe not, I don't know anything about material.

Crud-I finally get a pin code (I looked closely at my email) and I can't use the sucker. I am hoping that if Becky and/or Kelli can use it, they will let them.

It may have reached the 2nd page (cb) by now, I will go bump it. Its about what kind of sandals do you prefer, Birks, Teva, or something else.

Heidi, Where is the poll and what is it about?

We are still in the possible summer vacation possibilities mode. We may get annual passes to Six Flags. We have 2 that are about 2 1/2 hours from us and the one in NJ is doable as a weekend trip. If we got a pass to one we could go to all three using the passes. We've looked at campgrouds around the various parks and there are some that look interesting. So now we have 3 ideas out there. Pennsylvania, Ohio or Six Flags. I guess we'll need to see what our tax refund looks like and what Obama's stimulus package provides. At least we have some viable options. If we got six flags passes we could even just do day trips and we could do some of the special events for halloween etc.

Go for it, Becky! That email doesn't say when to book by. We'll probably have to wait for our tax return before we can book

:lmao: :lmao: Stephanie just told me she has a boyfriend. I said, "oh really? Who is he?" She said, "It's Austin, he just doesn't know it!" :lmao: :lmao:
