DDA Chapter 17

Elizabeth hope the coach doesn't give DS a hard time. I guess I can say well at least it just gambling, I know its not right, but heck we have teachers that sell drugs in school.

So my Uncle to be's brother died of an asthma attack which caused a heart attack. He was only 40. Plus my co-worker's Mom died from cancer.

In other news, I am the proud owner of round trip airfare to Florida for March 2-10. I figured you only live once. It was only a bit over $100. Had I convinced myself I did not need a checked bag, it would have been $30 less. Now to figure out other details. I also found out they have a kiosk at the mall I could have went to instead of dealing with going to the airport to avoid the online booking fee.
:cool1: :hyper: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo:

I think this is a good idea.

I am tempted to keep DS home tomorrow. Just give him a freebie day and write a note saying he wasn't feeling well. Then I can talk to the principal or whoever and know that DS is safe with me. What do you guys think?

If all the boys like coasters and Colby is tall enough to ride at least half, then I say go to Cedar Point. I have been to Hershey a few times and its not all that.

While we haven't totally decided not to do Hershey we want to see what other things are available to us.

DH got his new camera today. It came with the original box. That pleased him. It also came with the manuals and so forth. Now he has a camera that actually uses the battery he bought on clearance! :rotfl:

a smart purchase then... ;)

Thanks for listening, DDA, and I'll check in tomorrow. I hope everyone has restful nights' sleep.

Oh, Lindsay... :grouphug: It is so scary, isn't it? We are all living in such an uncertain time and to know Jonathan was "spared' is good news, indeed. But I do understand your fears. Every time that Bob comes home with further plant closings and layoffs my stomach tightens too. He is very down because his friends and associates are no longer working. So watch for that to happen to Jonathan too. He will need your understanding in a week or so as it all sinks in at his office. I think you should enjoy your time in FL with your family. You need the recharge it will give you right now and Jonathan will be ready for your support when you head back.

In the same vein... I think I had told you all that Bob's company had cut salaries and hours of all its employees, effective last month. He got his first "real" paycheck last Friday and we were shocked. It is half what it was 6 months ago. We have tried to find as many ways we can to cut our budget and I have decided to try to add another class and possibly a couple of additional private students to my already packed schedule. Kristin has even offered to chip in which means more to Bob and me than she will ever understand (I hope).

So, for all of you dear friends who are try to live through this recession/depression... We are all in this together. Remember that and come here to get it all off your chests so we can be strong for those we love. :grouphug:

I planned on getting a tie, hmm now I will look for a coat. I am most worried about shoes, he only wears tennis shoes. He can wear Garys, but he only has a brown pair of dress shoes.

Do you have a consignment shop anywhere in your area? Ours have some great deals on sport coats, suits and dress shoes!

Depending on the days of the week, I'd say two up to three days. There's a great campground called Bayshore right up the road that offers shuttles to Cedar Point, or you can camp onsite and get in up to an hour early which helps with the more popular roller coasters.

Your right up the road from Kelly's Island and Put in Bay; there's a drive thru wild animal park, and your 40 minutes from Toledo which has COSI.

Wow, Chanon... you sound like a travel agent!

Any certain granola bars? I have been eating the Nature Valley sweet & salty peanut bars.

Guess who has it now :guilty: I have been up & down since 2am. I was suppose to work today for my manager as she is needed at another store. I am trying to get that straightened out, I just don't think I can do it today.

Gary is still not feeling well, I was hoping he could take the boys to school & drop Blue off at the vet, but that is not happening either.

So I will go out & hope I don't need a bathroom real quick. I just feel drained at the moment.

I haven't heard any specific brands of granola bars. I know that there are Keebler products that are affected. If yours were tainted you would already know it, I fear. Unless Gary has been eating them too!

(I edited my original post after I saw that Janet was also sick.)

I finally had hot water today! :cheer2: :cheer2: It's the little things in life that are terrific today!

And I'm beginning to feel better. Just a little, but I'll take it. :cheer2: :cheer2:

And we will all join in and celebrate right along with you, Marci!! :yay:

Ok everyone who wears glasses, how do you do it? I have had glasses since 10th grade, but never wore them full time (yes I know shame on me, but I just couldn't get use to them) until about 6 years ago and I still really can't get used to them. The minute they get a speck on them I have to clean them, don't know how everyone in my family wears such dirty glasses. Plus they are just annoying. :sad2:

My guess is that you need a different style of glasses, Heidi. The ones I have now are so light weight that I often fall asleep with them on and they can take the abuse!

more trip report...

Monday

We were up at 7:45 again and went to Hollywood Studios today. We started out with Star Tours, Muppets, then went on ToT and RnR. Then we went to Toy Story Mania. It was a lot of fun, and Aaron told us several of the tricks to getting more points. We saw LMA, and then had lunch at Sci-Fi (the boys love this place and I like it better than the diner). We did Indiana Jones, then did the big rides again. We had an early dinner at Brown Derby (love the Cobb and grapefruit cake), with the Fantasmic Package, but we ended up not doing Fantasmic. We were just too tired!

We went back to the hotel and hung out in the lounge. I think this was when I first saw Ray Liotta. We were sitting in the chairs in front of the TV, and a couple of kids (probably teens) had been hanging out there as well. This guy walks by, asks the kids where someone was, then they all get in the elevator. As soon as the door closed, I asked Randy who it was because I couldn't remember his name. It turns out, Randy had seen him that morning, and he made quiet an impression. :snooty:

While I was finishing getting Randy in the room, Randy was with the boys in the lounge. Someone was showing Ray around and stopped at the breakfast. Ray took a look at it and said, "Just so you know, I like a real breakfast." :snooty:

I did end up seeing him the next morning. He was standing over by the breakfast layout ending a bowl of cereal and had earbuds in his ear. I'm guessing so no one would say anything to him. He loaded up a tray of food and headed down the hallway. I guess that breakfast ended up being good enough...
