DDA Chapter 17

Are you still getting snow, or is it just because of the freezing temps?

Good morning! It was -17 when I woke up & is now -13, the temp is rising! We are suppose to get in the teens today :cool1: :rotfl:

Amy so good to hear from you & that you are all having a great time!

Are you still getting snow, or is it just because of the freezing temps?

We had no school Wednesday because of snow & Thursday because of the temps. There is no school today for teachers institute(it still would have been canceled because of temps). Monday there is no school for MLK birthday, so they got a 5 day weekend!

Elizabeth I'm packed!

We are going for 8 days, but I will do laundry so I only packed for 4. John wears jeans and a t-shirt not matter what and I have slacks and shorts for me, though I really don't think I will need the shorts this time.

extreme cold here Thursday & Friday...no snow though....temp is supposed to rise like Janet said...but now snow will accompany it! :sad2:

We're "only" as cold as -8 here..... with a high of 8. Not bad! :rotfl:

My sister's school district is closed, but not because of weather, they never do that. Instead, it's because of bus vandalism! (I think it's kind of funny, and I suppose indirectly related to weather. There are cameras, though, so someone is going to get in big trouble!)

How far in advance does Airtran book? 6 months?

It is now -2 and suposed to get up to 10 with flurries.

:cool1: Your trip is getting closer!

Elizabeth don't for get DS, he gets out at 10:20

Tammi, when I was waiting for our March dates to open up, I found somewhere online that talked about Airtran's schedule openings. I can't find it or remember exactly what it was, but I know it's not like SW where an entire month/time period becomes open. I booked my flight about 6 months and 3 weeks ahead (based on my receipt info), but I know that the weeks prior were open SEVERAL weeks earlier than mine, and when my weeks opened up it didn't even go through the end of the month. I think they just open whenever they get it ready, somewhere between 6 and 8 months.... which I know doesn't help.

Elizabeth,

PICK UP DS at 10:20AM!

Thank you! :)

no school again today...regular temperature -16!!! :faint: :crazy2:

I put some Valium on Bill's cornflakes this morning!!

Yikes! Stay warm!

That's a new one! Who goes out in subzero temps to vandalize a bus? :confused3

::yes::

I may not make it to Disney this year, but I am going to Europe with Gary!

Our plans are to leave after Thanksgiving for 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. We hope to visit some different places this time. Gary has some ideas & as soon as I know more solid details I will let you all know :thumbsup2

I am still a little bummed about the trip in March, but I think this will take care of that lol

Cassidy will look. We have only gotten one each of Alaska and Hawaii so we will look for others for you and Debbie. :goodvibes
Thanks! Does she want any "P" quarters?

Bernadette - I have 9 of the ones Joe needs.
1999 - Georgia
2001 - Kentucky
2002 - Tennessee, Louisiana
2004 - Wisconsin
2005 - Kansas
2006 - North Dakota
2007 - Wyoming
2008 - New Mexico

I'll send them to him as soon as I can! :)
WOW! Thanks!!!

Colby is working on his lower case letters tonight. He genuinely wants to learn. We bought a couple of workbooks tonight so he did a worksheet from that and he's been practicing his lower case letters on a wipe off board and in a wipe off book. Hopefully it all helps him.
That is great! My Dollar Store sometimes has Disney workbooks. Have you seen those? Emma has a tough time with lower case b & d. She's starting to read now but I'm surprised that she has to sound out nearly every word-the class has a list of sight words so she has those down pretty well but you'd think in easy text she'd remember words like "had", "on" "in". She often sounds out the words backwards-like makes the "n" sound first when sounding out "in". I don't know if that is something I should worry about yet or not. She really loves these Bob books: http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-Beginning-Readers/dp/0439845009/ref=pd_sim_b_3

That is so nice! :goodvibes
Yes it is!!!:thumbsup2

Bernadettte - I'll take a look at our quarters and see if we can help.
Thanks!

Just wanted to say :wave2: quickly, before we head to the Studios.

We're having a great trip! Of course, time flies at WDW, but we still have three whole days left. It's "only" supposed to reach 58 today. I hope all of you are staying warm!

For whatever reason, we all woke up super early today. Hopefully the kiddos won't be too grumpy...maybe Matty and Alyssa will actually nap. Little Noah has been cat-napping this whole week and sleeping decently at night (only 1-2 wake-ups). Following Hardman tradition, he exploded yesterday, and he got me good. As a result, I have a new $54.95 (plus tax) hoodie.

I better get moving. Kevin is REALLY hoping for a soft opening of The American Idol Experience. We also plan to ride Toy Story Mania a couple more times...wow, is it awesome!

The drive down took 18 hours, including nobody really sleeping through the night and a bout of car sickness an hour before we got to WDW. Hopefully our drive home Monday will be non-eventful! Talk with you all soon. Take care! :grouphug:
Stay warm! I read that it felt like 37 at 10am. We LOVE Toy Story Maina too!!!! Hope you have an easy ride home!

We've got half days here as well. We were going to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese after the lunch rush, but I'm not sure now. Kristi's got the cable guy coming between noon and 4 and he says it could take up to 4 hours. (Good grief!) Apparently, he may need to run some new lines. We're hoping for closer to noon and a short visit. Of course, Kristi would need to be feeling better as well. She had that nasty stomach thing yesterday and still look "like crap" as her dear husband put it at 6pm last night. Guess maybe Chuck E Cheese will wait since I'm not sure I'm up for taking the 5 kids on my own today on a day when it will be potentially crowded. Eh, who am I kidding. I'm usually up for stuff like that. Maybe we will go. If I want to take them all to WDW by myself with only Rachel as my help, what's Chuck E Cheese. (We'd do WDW when the kids are about 5-10 and Rachel is 16 so that does make a little difference.)
Hope you have fun if you decide to go!

We REALLY have to put the Christmas stuff away this weekend. It will be good to take all that stuff back to the storage unit. The living room is still all in a jumble because of the cocktail table and the Wii Fit. Once the tree is down we should be able to move the table to the corner so the balcony door will open. Not that I want the table in the corner long term, but it will work while I shop for end tables.
Me too! Will packing my Christmas stuff away count as packing? We took the tree down but some of the ornaments are just on a table not put away-a good way to get broken. And I need to pack up my Santas.

Merrie and I had to make some tough decisions yesterday at work. We haven't had to layoff yet, but made significant changes to benefits. Everyone was very receptive to the changes, and just thankful to still have jobs. I work with a great group of people! If our clients who have training budgets frozen would get the go-ahead for training, we might not have to let anyone go.

Lots to do this weekend, but I'm still feeling crappy. I have an appt. at 9, and will see what he says. I'm pretty sure this will give me a "pass" to skip some of the events this weekend.

Take care and keep warm everyone!
:grouphug: Sorry about the cutbacks at work. Hope things pickup for you. Hope you're feeling better too!

We have 2 "reshows" this weekend. Apparantly 2 people like it enough to want to see it again.
