DDA Chapter 16

The battery died in Gary's Jimmy & there is something wrong with the left front side(I guess it is shaking bad). I had to give a urine sample at the hospital today. I thought whatever I had was gone, but nope. So we will see what the results say. Plus I have my dental issues going on.

This all is taking money that I was not planning on be taken. So Gary & I will unfortunately be discussing whether the March trip is a good idea or not.

So not a happy day in the Corbin household today :sad2:

:sad1:

So it appears that the economy woes have hit close to home with us also. My company has decided that it is necessary to reduce the number of full time employees in each store, part of this decision will take my position and HR and combine the two. This is a really bad move on their part, but they are looking at numbers and not practicality.

Now, I have 22 years experience, have actually done both jobs while the other girl has only 6 years and has only done the one position. I consider her a friend but under the circumstances I'm afraid I'll have to pull rank and insist that I keep my status, I'm not going to give up my benefits, personal time and vacation time.

So if you could add me to the Pixie Dust list I would appreciate it, I'm actually not supposed to know about this yet and she doesn't know, so maybe they will work something out.

You have all my good thoughts, Debbie. I hope they make the decision soon so that you all are not left hanging as you wait.

And if there is any DDA pixiedust remaining, I could use a little. Rumor has it that IBM will be cutting 16,000 world-wide around Jan 23rd. We haven't heard anything specific, so I'm trying not to panic too much (and yet still panicking!). This is one time, I wish we weren't single-income.

Lots of good thoughts and wishes headed your way too, Beth!

here to...both Kirsten & Christopher have been banished to their rooms. I absolutely furious...I am feeling much mental strain at the moment

Sorry Kristine....my voice is gone from yelling. Everyone has lost tv, pc, & video games for a week. I feel like I am going to lose my mind sometimes.

:wizard: :wizard: Wow, I hope all remains stable for you DH :wizard: :wizard:

This is the problem..... If I'm offended by the truth, I can just pretend it isn't true for me! ::rolleyes:

OMG. Chris and I LOVE your new signature picture. They are so cute I could just eat them up. They almost make me want another baby...almost ;)

I have always believed that if you are on welfare, you should be put on forced birth control. This is both men & women and it should be a shot that works for a month. As long as you stay on the birth control, you get your welfare. The other side says "That takes away my civil liberties!" And I say "No, you give up your civil liberty for bearing children while you can't take care of yourself and any children you bring in the world! As long as I have to help support you, I have a say in it."

That is a great idea. I for one whole heartedly support that. Would that make such a great difference in our world. People that wanted children would actually have to get off their butts and support themselves  Vicki you should run for president :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Thank you! You can come visit these two instead, if that would be easier for you in the long run! ;)

Another Weight Watchers day down & in the books.:cool1:

I just had the Lean Cuisine butternut squash ravioli.

Don't think I'll be buying that one again.

It's been a long day here. The kids are all taking turns being my least favorite!

I had Shake and Bake pork chops, roasted potatoes mixed with diced red peppers and sugar snap peas and a tossed salad. ;) It wasn't Lean Cuisine. ;) (I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

Kristine - did you get my late emails or are you out dancing with Bill? popcorn::

Janet - you still have 2 weeks to decide!!!

Tammi - Happy Birthday!!! Your 26 right?

Prayers needed for Chuck's mom. She is in the hospital again. It sounds like her meds messed up her system. She will be coming home Friday or Saturday. Chuck is going to go stay overnight with her at least her first night home.

Since I have to head back down here on Sunday and wouldn't get home until Friday night (when Chuck would be gone anyway), I'm just going to stay down here for the week-end. I might go see my mother on Saturday and spend the day with her as she'll be at my aunt's house which is only a couple of hours from here.

Chris and I have dissected all of our livingroom furniture. One chair is now outside though the little critters appear to have died when we had the exterminator her over the summer. I will not take any chances. I've ordered a pesticide and some phermone traps that should remedy the problem. We think that we were probably infested with both the larder beetle and the flour beetle at the same time. Probably a bad bag of pet food though it could have been anything. We noticed the larder beetles as they are larger and were prevailant in the kitchen area. The flour beetles can live on flour dust or even some furniture stuffing materials and they are so tiny you wouldn't even know they are there. Apparently many homes have them and never know it. I'm tempted to throw out all the furniture, but what's to stop new furniture from becoming quickly infected if just one little guy remains. So we will do this right and not make assumptions. I feel like I must be the worst housekeeper in the world, but I swear that I do clean regularly and the entire house has been "spring cleaned" and I mean deep cleaned this year as we've redone 90% of the interior and we have no carpeting other than a few scatter rugs :confused3

:grouphug: I'll keep his mom in my prayers. I hope you can enjoy your weekend, despite (sort of) last minute plan changes!

Ugh... good luck! I have no advice, but I hope it's resolved quickly. It sounds like you're doing the right thing by being thorough, just in case! :wizard:

:lmao: I could never handle the media. My boss told me today that he told his boss that he needs me on his team! There was more to it then that but that was the gist. It made me quite happy! It is nice to be appreciated again. There were a couple of years in this job where I wasn't and that was very difficult because I've always been one of the top valued employees EVERYWHERE that I have ever worked.

That is the most adorable picture!!!!!!

I'm hoping to get to walk a 5K with the two cuties! If I ever get this job permanently, I'll probably lose my state vehicle. That means I'll be in Lansing with a personal vehicle. I just may take one of the week-ends I get stuck down here and travel to see a couple of DDA with a couple of cute kids.
