DDA Chapter 16

Bethany is in St. Aug. Florida with her mom for winter break. They went down the day after Christmas. Bob was talking to Bethany last night and found out that they were going to MK today! :scared: I'm CERTAIN that her mom has NO CLUE about what it's going to be there like today, with absolutely NO planning involved. More like "what do you want to do for NYE? Hey, let's drive down to MK for the day. Ok, sounds like fun." They were driving 3 hours from St. Aug this morning. I bet Bob that she would be lucky to ride 5 things, provided they even get INTO the park. There is NO WAY that they would arrive before 10AM, just knowing her mother and the fact that she doesn't do mornings well. When I say arrive, I mean arrive as in driving INTO the park. Add another hour just to get through the parking gate, park, tram and monorail. Plus MK was an EMH morning, starting at 7AM. I can't wait to hear about their day. I have visions of it being a disaster. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it.

I can remember in 1980 I wanted to take Howie and Guenna to the MK and we got there at about 10 am and the the park was already closed. We ended up going to Sea World instead. Then two days later, we got up really early to get to the MK in time to get into the park. This was between Christmas and New Years.

I was wondering what we were going to do tonight for NYE. We were talking about renting a video but I just found out that Disney is on the Travel Channel tonight starting at 8pm EST. Woohoo! :woohoo: I'll be watching Disney to bring in the New Year.

8 it's Disney Cruise Line
9 it's Disney on a Dime
10 it's Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes
11 it's Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown

Soooo...

Mom just called. She has to go to the lymphedema clinic EVERY DAY starting next week. They do think it will get better, but not without intervention. I couldn't help it. I said "Did I NOT TELL YOU THAT?" :headache: Yes, I DID tell her that. I told her that over a month ago. So now she gets to go to the clinic every single day. Her arm will be wrapped from shoulder to fingers. She will also be going to radiation every day as soon as they figure out what kind of radiation her insurance will cover. She is thinking about taking a leave from her job until her treatment is finished.

On a good note, she had a full body PET scan and they did not see any evidence of cancer!

If anyone has some good thoughts or prayers to spare, Susan's FIL's funeral was this morning.
My friend Danielle phoned to tell me her mom is in the hospital. Her mom has been battling cancer for quite awhile, so I am worried about what this hospitalization might mean. :guilty:

Elizabeth, glad to hear that they are making your mom come in daily.

Good thoughts for Susan. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Tammi,
Wow, that is what Dana calls a "serious rookie mistake!"

Thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone! :goodvibes
Hopefully once they get Mom's arm back to "normal" she will be more proactive in taking care of it. She said the swelling doesn't bother her so she wasn't really concerned. :sad2:

Heh heh heh. I was thinking back several years ago when my boss said she was going to take her kids to WDW for Thanksgiving week. That was in maybe 2003? I felt kind of bad that my charge would be rubbing it in DS's face, but at that point we weren't considering a trip.

She ended up not taking them to WDW at all, which was kind of the norm for her. She would talk about something and then not do it. I was thinking today how entertaining it would have been if they HAD gone Thanksgiving week. Rookie mistakes, indeed!

Just in case I don't get back on later..........

We are about to head out to my brother's house for his New Year's party.
It should be fun, exept that my one SIL is being a pill and doesn't want to go, so my brother won't go either. She has to work two hours tonight in a small town thearter. She said that she will be too exhausted after that. Whatever.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Good Morning Friends,

Happy New Years Eve!

It's time for me to head back to work, then tonight it will be packing and some cleaning, no party here. Tomorrow I have to work in the morning before hitting the road. DH's back is on the mend but still not completely better, hopefully today we will see much more improvement.

Debbie I hope there is much improvement with dh's back before you leave tomorrow :wizard:

Happy Birthday Garrett.
