DDA Chapter 16

Thanks!

I was incorrect, hospice is not starting until Monday.

I should do a Vermont and Massachusetts trip sometime next year. I also want to do Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

Tammi- The weather in NYC during February tends to be cold. It could still snow, ice, etc. It could also be nice. Even if it does snow in NYC or is cold, you are typically not out in it for hours on end. As you are inside or in and out of buildings depending what you decide to do. If you do decide to go, I would love to meet you there. I am in need of a NYC trip. But I will not go there for New Years this year.;) Although it is on my bucket list to spend NYE in Times Square.

You should come to Vermont. We're hoping the Chuck and Vicki make it out this way this summer. We could have a Vermont DDA meet.

If anyone is heading to Massachusetts or New York we might be able to meet up. Neither is too far from here. We are planning a trip to Pennsylvania this summer. I think it is the beginning of August. We will hit the NASCAR race in the Poconos (5 miles from Heidi if I'm not mistaken) then we will hit Hershey (Becky's neck of the woods) We may even tour Lancaster area (Terry and Stephanie) So will you guys be around the first week of August? We'll be taking our campers (My parent's and brother's family will be going too).

Well, at least I can commiserate here :) Elizabeth, my dog has peed on my carpet more than once, so it's a bit hypocritical to say that, unfortunately! (We do have our carpets cleaned, though, and now own a kick-#$*@ spot lifter since our girls puke green and orange all over my house

To be honest, Vicki, I think it's total ignorance. My MIL thinks nothing of it if Bella does anything I mentioned (shocking, I know). My SIL and her fiancee are actually being REALLY proactive this time, and the dog has been somewhat calm, after she got over the initial excitement of being here with my dog. But seriously, I don't know if it's small-town mentality or what, but it really doesn't ever seem to cross their mind when they do ANYTHING over normal boundaries.

So really, I don't even know that I would mind Bella being here (under certain circumstances -- they were farther away, she stayed crated when necessary or in the basement, she wasn't a raving lunatic, etc ;) ).... IF THEY HAD ASKED. I thought it might just be me, but at least a few of you agree that it's just rude!

Did you read my blog about gingerbread houses?! I hate them! (Yours look great, though! I hope you made it through less stressed than I always ended up! :rotfl:)

:wizard:

Yeah, we have a pretty substantial few shelving units in the basement, but I'm not sure how many. My parents collection is fabulous, and we play them all, too! :teeth:

Please do post Terra's pictures, when you get them in! That mail was too weird!

I feel guilty complaining after the RIDICULOUS amount of stuff piled in my living room from my inlaws, so I'll keep it just to the dog issue and not anything my MIL, although it's pretty typical.

OH! I do have to tell you all this one, though. It was quickly squelched so I mostly just think it's HILARIOUS. My in-laws wouldn't get the joke, though... I know you all will.

MIL: "[FIL] and I just put in vacation requests for the time you'll be in Disney World in March. We thought we might like to go to Florida in the spring anyway, so we thought we could go and just watch the girls sometimes so you can have time together, or hang out with you all ...."

Kyle and Jen, simultaneously: "No, not on the girls first trip." (Very definitively).

MIL: "Oh.... we thought that would be perfect. We would just take the girls when you wanted blah blah blah".

Kyle and Jen: "No, not on their first trip."

MIL: "Well, but..."

Kyle: "Maybe some day, although really we've already talked about this and you know you won't "do Disney" the way we do, and Jen's not going to compromise our trips, but their first trip is something we've been talking about since before the girls were born, and nobody else is invited."

MIL: "Well....."

(Are you freaking kidding me? This conversation didn't end here. She doesn't have a clue! :rotfl:)

I hope you all are enjoying your evening! :goodvibes:

We received cards from Amy, Vicki and Elin today too. Thank you guys.

Chris is sitting up. This is a vast improvement over his moans of "I'm dying". Remember he doesn't get sick so he is either well or dying :rotfl: :rotfl: I was sure that he wouldn't survive the day. When I suggest Aleve he gasped as he couldn't possibly keep it down. Well imagine his suprise when he kept it down and he started to feel better. ;)

I was thinking of planning a trip for next Christmas since I never got in the spirit of Christmas this year. Then I looked around at all the sickness we've had and decided we are much better off home then away :upsidedow

Deb - You guys aren't sick at Christmas EVERY year, are you? I think if you want to plan a trip it would be safe.

I can only recall one year when DS was sick on Christmas Eve. He was standing beside me and puked mini panckaes all over the carpet. He was little - maybe 3. That was the year DH's car battery died at work and we had to go pick him up. DS was sleeping when DH called. Our upstairs neighbors weren't home to come down and sit with him so I had to load him up in the car. It was not a good day. :sad2:

I am really, really excited about Christmas next year! With my new stockings, my new tree stand, and all of my new ornaments I will have more Christmas spirit than you can shake a stick at! I was looking for a topper, a wreath, and a stand this year and I managed to get all of those. Of course my stand hasn't actually arrived yet, so something could still go wrong there.

all the men of the house have been afflicted with an illness...it's called annoythecrapoutofKristine disease.

I am searching for a cure.....so far, NOTHING.

I just put cream on my hands...then I put white gloves on.....the 3 of them asked.....whaaat is that for? mocking me....I told them it was so there would be no fingerprints visible on their necks tonight :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm working with my memory manager software and came across the picture of the flowers that you sent for the funeral of Chuck's dad. They were beautiful. Thank you again.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.

Depending when in August, I could come up to PA. Lancaster area is about 3 hrs. from me. Plus I have an aunt there, who might let us crash at her place. I'm sure the kids would like Hershey too. We've never been there.

We're not sick every year, at least not all of us. It seems that there is always a cold or something in the house though. My Mother has been sick on Christmas before though.

The cure: getkristinetoabarquickly and leave the men at home :thumbsup2 I actually thought about stopping by the bar at work on the way home from shopping tonight, but alas I came home to the kids and the sicko

Okay, I need help. My friend's AP expires on October 4th. Plus our trip has to be completed by October 4th, as that is when her incentive points expire. I have a board meeting on September 30th.

My birthday is September 18th. We could go that week, but there will be no F&W. No concerts. But then, she goes to enjoy the resort. She would be just as happy with a book, a glass of wine and the balcony. She wants to swim, go to nice restuarants and hit the hot tub. :goodvibes I am hoping to at least make a MNSSHP party.:goodvibes

This will be my no park opening, walk into a park, do two rides, eat and return to the resort type of trip. Forget 4 parks in one day, I'll be happy to see all four parks in seven days! No Mickey/Stitch wake-up calls needed. :hippie:

Let me know how it works. ;)

That would be awesome. My kids really enjoy Hershey. They like the amusement park and the tour of the Hershey Factory. That's a ride in itself, kind of like the TTA.

So what do you need help with? You want to go to F&WF and she doesn't? When does it start?

I think September 18th would be a great time to go ;) . The crowds should be pretty light and if you want to enjoy the resort then it sounds perfectly reasonable. Then again is there really a bad time to go to WDW? :confused3
