I just took one of 4 employment placement tests....and I am going to shoo the rest of my family out for awhile later today to finish the others.

I would love any spare pixie dust on Monday that this agency is able to place me quickly.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Then we went online and found out it was an earthquake. In PA!!!!

Okay, I guess I have to get my shower and forage for food. Yes, I know it is 2:00 in the afternoon. I needed a pj day!!:yay: :yay:

Scary feeling when everything shakes like that, glad all is well!

I often have pj days :thumbsup2

Not much on the agenda for today. It's a good thing we canceled our plans for this morning, all of us slept past 8am, the time we would have needed to be on the road. Our laundry is in desperate need of some attention. Eric said he'll wash if I sort, not a bad deal. I don't know what else I am going to do, I am not in the mood for the tv or movies. And I really don't feel like I could concentrate enough to read a book. I'm beyond bored and itching to do something!
Hope you survived your quiet day. You know some times you just need to slow down!

Bernadette - Well, if it is a grocery bag full of GOOD candy you can eat it. But if it is gingerbread house candy like gum drops and Twizzlers then you should make the houses. ;)
Well.....it is a mixed bag.:rotfl2: Some good candy (m&m's) and some gum drops and twizzlers. We did do them-I'm uploading pics now and I still have a huge box full of candy!

Wow, that is way more to do than time to do it. Skip the Hawaiian outfit and pack a lei, find a couple of cute matching outfits on clearance for cali grill, you could always do a quick applique on each to Disneyfy it without spend lots of time. I would totally take advantage of all the post Christmas deals and do less sewing. I know that you enjoy it, but the stress levels aren't worth it and you can sew after the trip. Disney shopping is having sales too. The important thing isn't what you wear, but that you will have a fun and relaxing trip. If you wear yourself down, you are more likely to get sick and we don't want that.
You know the list doesn't sound too bad to me. And I am of the attitude that what I get done I get done and I won't stress about it. It isn't like she doesn't have any clothes and I could always buy her an autograph book. A couple of coworkers sent me a Disney Shopping gift card that has to be used there. I didn't see anything I wanted so maybe I'll look at the kids stuff.

another one down...another one down...another one bites the dust...

Chris is now sick too. The 3 kids seem fine today. I am feeling much better though I've got a lot of sinus pain. That doesn't seem to be related to yesterdays Norovirus stuff. Chris was adamant that he would not get sick...he was wrong and I've been pointing that out all morning ;)
Poor Chris!

I haven't even started sewing for this trip yet!:scared1:
I don't think I will be making that many outfits this time around. I only have a couple of ADRs scheduled this time. We are going to take our time and enjoy some of the things we don't seem to have time for.
I still want to make an autograph book too and do a few tshirts for our trip.
I guess I better get busy!
We only have ADR's for a late breakfast at Crystal Palace on an early entry day and early dinner at California Grill.

We've brought in hospice for my Grandpa.

Anybody want a visitor next weekend? I have been seriously thinking about going away somewhere. I even have been looking at Florida. Although given current things I probably should not go anywhere.
 Sorry your Grandpa isn't getting any better.

You could come visit us sometime but it is a lot nicer in the summer.

If you were visiting someone and you lived locally and with capable roommates, and had a puppy that - every time she comes - bites people, steps on babies faces (repeatedly), pees all over the carpets, etc..... would you take them without invitation?!

No, I wouldn't either. :headache:  :sad2: My grandmother is the same way (this is my SIL coming with her obnoxious dog that otherwise stays home just fine except when she comes here). I don't know about you, but I don't know WHY people think it's ok to bring disruptive pets (or any, really!) on a local visit unless you were asked/told to. It just blows my mind! And this dog, while cute, is just not trained enough to be here! I am not a crazy protective mom (by any means... ask Amy ;)) but this infuriates me.

Thanks for letting me vent :rotfl: I'm sure I'll be back, the weekend is still young.........
:headache: UGH!!! I would be SO mad!!!!!

Mother Nature has surely lost her mind. We had a 3.3 earthquake last night. Or rather this morning. It was a few minutes after midnight. My whole house shook. My DD and DGD were at the movies watching Twilight (again) when it happened. At first I thought my furnace had blown up. I went outside and the house was fine. I finally opened the cellar door and it seemed fine. I wasn't going down there with no one home. I finally went to bed. When I saw my DD this morning, she told how the movie shook. Then we went online and found out it was an earthquake. In PA!!!!
Glad it was just a little one!

Elin, Amy, Vicki, & Tia Thank you for the Christmas cards!

Amy I love how your picture is in black & white except for Noah, how cute!

Vicki I enjoyed reading the letter along with you card :goodvibes

Over the summer I had the phone outside at work. I put it in a folded towel so it wouldn't get so hot from the sun. DS got out of the pool and of course grabbed THAT towel. My phone went flying and smashed on the concrete. I was able to snap it back together and it still worked. It was eligible for upgrade in October, but it was working OK so I just didn't bother. A few days ago a big piece broke off so there were exposed wires and it was really wobbly when I would flip it open. I got a new pink Nokia. :)

Becky, I am sorry to hear about your grandpa.

If a dog pee'd on my carpet ONCE that dog would NEVER come back. You have crawling babies. Babies should not have to crawl in dog pee. I would tell your SIL she needs to pay to have your carpets cleaned professionally and that the dog will not be allowed in the house again.

Good luck!! :wizard:

I replaced my phone and we went to one more mall. I found some nice Christmas stuff on clearance at Macy's (stockings, a tree topper, and a Mickey ornament), and found the last Hallmark ornament I was hoping to get. :thumbsup2 The Disney Store had nothing.

sounds like a great shopping day. DO you have Verizon? I am eligible in April. so I am starting to look at phones to see what I want.

It has been raining cats & dogs here all day & we have a tornado watch in effect till 7pm along with a flood watch. This is Dec. right? :confused3 Other than our basement taking in a little water, we really do not have to worry about flooding. But those close to the river, I'm sure they have much more to worry about.

Kristine I hope the sewer is still holding up for you all :wizard:

I made the royal icing. We had on tragedy to start. These house parts had come from Mary K's house to the office 55 miles then 12.5 miles to my house then sat on my kitchen counter (in zip lock bags) for about a week. Every house front was a bit broken and one roof the we couldn't fix:

Lizzy & Emma shared a house for a while but that ended up in disagreement so Emma added to her "Honeymade" house she did at school and everyone was happy again. The royal icing was a bit too dry when assembling the houses so I watered it down a bit for the kids to use as glue but made it too watery and the stuff started sliding off the roofs but they still seemed to have fun.

I had to run out to get batteries for Joe's Crammer. It took a few tries but I finally got my Mac to recognize it and I downloaded all the grade 3/4 quizzes and flash cards for him (geometry, numbers, spelling, word use, history, geography, earth science, life science and physical science. That took up about 6 of the 1,000 MBs. Then I downloaded a couple of songs for him-the Soarin' soundtrack and Figment soundtrack. Those took forever!!!!! All the other songs he wanted were in MP4 format. Maybe I can download right from the CD's instead of from iTunes. He's playing with it now and enjoying it.

When I was out I found a Christmas Pooh house for Lizzy for 1/2 price. It is really cute!

Bernadette cute houses.

What is a crammer?
Thanks the kids had fun and it was a cold wet day so a good activity for them.

A crammer is by leap frog. It is about the size of a deck of cards. You can download free quizzes and flash cards from the leap frog website and it is an MP3 player. You can even make your own flash cards. It sounds kind of boring but Joe LOVES it! He really enjoys reading atlases and fact books so I knew this would be good for him.

Here's what Leap frog says:
The Crammer handheld is a revolutionary study and sound system that fits in the palm of your hand. Create digital flash cards based on the subject areas you need to study for school and download thousands of math, social studies, science and language arts quiz questions. With Crammer handheld you can also listen to the music that gets and keeps you in a studying mood.

Chuck was responsible for the letter this year. When we send cards out, we like to send a note. That is my favorite part of Christmas cards for the friends we only hear from once a year. I like those form letters. At least I have information on how things are going in my friends lives.

sounds neat

so I am trying to figure out what Hotel to stay at when we go to the baseball game in June.

No, we have AT&T. DH has a Motorola Razr that he could upgrade but he didn't see anything he liked. We looked at Sam's, Radio Shack, and the AT&T store. DS has a Samsung but he won't be eligible for a new phone until next August. Besides, he is relentless with wanting to play with the phone and that drives me nuts. He uses it to take pictures and record music and all sorts of crap, so the battery is always dead. :headache: That was the only phone being offered for free when we added him to the plan so I told him he has to make it last. He only uses it for phone calls once or twice a week but since he plays with it all the time it may or may not last!

Bernadette - The houses turned out cute! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I was incorrect, hospice is not starting until Monday.

I should do a Vermont and Massachusetts trip sometime next year. I also want to do Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

Tammi- The weather in NYC during February tends to be cold. It could still snow, ice, etc. It could also be nice. Even if it does snow in NYC or is cold, you are typically not out in it for hours on end. As you are inside or in and out of buildings depending what you decide to do. If you do decide to go, I would love to meet you there. I am in need of a NYC trip. But I will not go there for New Years this year.;) Although it is on my bucket list to spend NYE in Times Square.

isn't it unbelievable??!! At one point the weather gadget was beeping with simultaneous alarms for: flash flood warning, thunderstorm warning and tornado watch!!

so far we are holding out.

Massachusetts looks good around the 4th of July. We'll be up there and could plan a meet. ;)
