I just took one of 4 employment placement tests....and I am going to shoo the rest of my family out for awhile later today to finish the others.

I would love any spare pixie dust on Monday that this agency is able to place me quickly.

Lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: from us!
Good luck!

Mother Nature has surely lost her mind. We had a 3.3 earthquake last night. Or rather this morning. It was a few minutes after midnight. My whole house shook. My DD and DGD were at the movies watching Twilight (again) when it happened. At first I thought my furnace had blown up. I went outside and the house was fine. I finally opened the cellar door and it seemed fine. I wasn't going down there with no one home. I finally went to bed. When I saw my DD this morning, she told how the movie shook. Then we went online and found out it was an earthquake. In PA!!!!

Today I'm going to do laundry. :laundy: :laundy:

Hugs to Susan and Becky. That is so sad. Losses are great at any time, but especially so during the holidays.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Theresa, good luck!:goodvibes

Marci, enjoy your trip!!:cool1:

Okay, I guess I have to get my shower and forage for food. Yes, I know it is 2:00 in the afternoon. I needed a pj day!!:yay: :yay:

You might not have heard of half of them... but you have to understand where we're coming from :rotfl:

My parents, to this day (and then obviously while I was growing up) have an entire room, including 2 walk in closets, of games. I swear, they own every one I have ever seen in stores :faint:

Well, some of our favorite nights together are just "game nights", either the two of us or with my family, so we're headed in the same direction  ...

Tip of the Tongue
Scene It Movie 2nd Edition
Tie One On
Sentence Says
Uno Flash
Uno Spin
Battle of the Sexes: IQ Test
Scene It Squabble
Partini

Oooh, that's my goal too! I love games and want to have a great big collection of them.

Kristine - Glad you guys are hanging in there!

Tia - Welcome home!

Good thoughts and prayers are needed for my friend Susan. She called me Christmas Eve to say her dad is not doing well, but he is holding his own. I just got a call from another one of our nanny friends that Susan's MIL & FIL have been in a car crash in Austin, and her FIL will not survive. :sad1: Susan's DH is very close to his dad, so this is just a terrible time for them.

lots of prayers for Susan and her family. What a rough time for them. :wizard: :grouphug:

Elizabeth, Susan and her DH's respective families will be in my prayers. What a tough time! :(

Tia, can I ask if your card was a photo card? If it was, can you post a picture? My post office apparently ate all but LITERALLY the front of your envelope... I'm so annoyed! :rotfl: It's as if they ripped off the front with our addresses, and there is nothing left of the envelope or card!

No, it was just a regular card. I'll post a copy of her Christmas pictures though as soon as I scan them in.

If you were visiting someone and you lived locally and with capable roommates, and had a puppy that - every time she comes - bites people, steps on babies faces (repeatedly), pees all over the carpets, etc..... would you take them without invitation?!
...
Thanks for letting me vent :rotfl: I'm sure I'll be back, the weekend is still young.........

That's just not right. I'd never bring my dog along without express permission.

Lots and lots of luck, :wizard: and everything else, heading your way! I hope you get something soon.

Thanks for the hugs!

I felt it too. They happen every few years in PA but they are minor and often not felt or realized they are happening. The worst was about 14 years ago when we had a quake in January during lots of snow storms. I think it was right below a magnitude 5 quake. We had stuff that scattered all over the place after that one.

I'm up again. The hardest part was keeping the kids quiet. Chris is still sleeping. I know that sleeping was the best thing for me yesterday so I'm hoping that it will do the trick for him. Dad just called and he thinks that he is finally over it too. He stills feels achy as do I, but no more running in either direction. :thumbsup2

I guess I shower and get out of here for a couple of hours.

I am still case less. I think everyone in Berks county must have got an Ipod Touch for Christmas. I saw loads of empty pegs where Touch cases should be but no cases. There were some armband cases but that was about it. I was at Circuit City, Walmart, Best Buy and Target.

So I am ordering online, hopefully it gets here soon before I have scratched and fingerprinted it all up.:rotfl:

I don't think that we are going now. There is dense fog now, rain later this afternoon, freezing rain this evening turning to snow tonight and tomorrow. I'm feeling very guilty because I found out that we were supposed to go yesterday morning to help her shop. Chuck and I had a lack of communication so I didn't realize he had worked that out with her. I had told him I could leave at 10am as long as I had my blackberry. He never told me he had anything worked out with her and I forgot I had told him that.

Sorry you had to cancel your plans Vicki. This weather is so wonky right now, you just don't know what it will be doing next!

How sad Elizabeth, prayers for all

Chris I hope you feel better soon :wizard:

Tammi hope you had luck with the shopping!

Jennifer hope all goes well with the in-laws :wizard:

why is their nothing good to watch on TV. I have no energy today thanks to this friggin cold. Their has been nothing I have wanted to watch on TV today.

No, I wouldn't either. :headache:  :sad2: My grandmother is the same way (this is my SIL coming with her obnoxious dog that otherwise stays home just fine except when she comes here). I don't know about you, but I don't know WHY people think it's ok to bring disruptive pets (or any, really!) on a local visit unless you were asked/told to. It just blows my mind! And this dog, while cute, is just not trained enough to be here! I am not a crazy protective mom (by any means... ask Amy ;)) but this infuriates me.

Thanks for letting me vent :rotfl: I'm sure I'll be back, the weekend is still young.........

I would have to tell them the dog needs to stay home or put in boarding while they are away. I would be very upset myself! Sorry but that is just rude & very inconsiderate :sad2:

whats wrong with your cell?

Over the summer I had the phone outside at work. I put it in a folded towel so it wouldn't get so hot from the sun. DS got out of the pool and of course grabbed THAT towel. My phone went flying and smashed on the concrete. I was able to snap it back together and it still worked. It was eligible for upgrade in October, but it was working OK so I just didn't bother. A few days ago a big piece broke off so there were exposed wires and it was really wobbly when I would flip it open. I got a new pink Nokia. :)

you can come to Colorado.

I am sorry to hear about your grandpa:hug:

Becky, I am sorry to hear about your grandpa.

If a dog pee'd on my carpet ONCE that dog would NEVER come back. You have crawling babies. Babies should not have to crawl in dog pee. I would tell your SIL she needs to pay to have your carpets cleaned professionally and that the dog will not be allowed in the house again.

I replaced my phone and we went to one more mall. I found some nice Christmas stuff on clearance at Macy's (stockings, a tree topper, and a Mickey ornament), and found the last Hallmark ornament I was hoping to get. :thumbsup2 The Disney Store had nothing.
