DDA Chapter 16

Elizabeth-I really have to start packing! I had the worst dreams last night and am exhausted today! I dreamt Lizzy & I ended up on different planes and then I couldn't find her. I don't have to worry about that because that will NOT happen!!! BUT... I also dreamt that I forgot the zoom lens to my camera and the battery charger. I was so distraught!!!! I don't even have a case for my new camera yet. I'm 90% sure I have one that will work but I have to make sure so I have enough time to get a new one if I have too. I think I will look up how much a new battery charger will cost for my Nikon battery so I can just leave one in my Owner's Locker.

I did get a skirt cut out for both girls on Sunday but it took more fabric than I expected so I have to buy some white muslin for a lining. I also ordered T-shirts for both of them to match from Land's End with a free shipping code.

I need to arrange for my Owner's Locker, order a Disney Visa reward card, do a grocery order from garden grocer, look into that battery charger, and nail Lizzy down on what she wants for an autograph book....OH and order something else for Joe for his birthday....

I did start a packing list last weekend. I just need to see a weather forecast for a finalized list.

I had a friend make my tree skirt from Christmas fabric. I HATE the tree skirts in the stores because they are always too small for my tree or look like they are made from fabric that will fall apart if you look at them wrong. I'll post a picture when I get home of it...if you know anyone that sews, they are really easy to make!

I guess I need to see how a tree skirt will fit over the new stand because it is bigger than my current stand. I just saw on the Macy's site they have 48" and 54" skirts. I didn't like them, but they had them. :rotfl2: I have no idea what size my current one is. :confused3

Princess just woke up from her nap. I heard a weird noise on the monitor after I put her to bed, but I didn't think too much of it. Turns out she got out of bed and plugged in her little tree! :scared1: The noise I heard was her knocking an ornament off. :headache: The ornament didn't break, it just clattered. She tried to tell me she had NO IDEA who plugged that tree in. Right. I need to tell Momboss that the tree needs to be moved out of her room because despite multiple lectures, Princess is still plugging it in by herself. That is just too dangerous to continue.

DS went to preschool with a little boy whose mom is a Dr. She would use a big safety pin and clip her rings to her scrubs when she was working.

He could also put the ring on a chain around his neck, but that might be kind of "high school". :rotfl2:

Kyle has done the safety pin thing, or around a lanyard with his name badge. I agree though, I think I'd want it on me, however that had to happen! :)

Elizabeth. I suspect that the clinics will not know that your mother is not following doctors orders as she will convienently forget to tell them that. :wizard:

Oh, I don't know... doctors and nurses learn to detect BS VERRRY quickly! :rotfl:

I don't have camera nightmares. ;) Yes, you do need to start packing. If I had room for the suitcases I could start packing! :yay:
DH has more camera crap than he can even begin to use. Since he insists on traveling with BOTH dSLRs and ALL of the accessories I think his biggest problem is not having room in his bag. He has cases for the cameras, but then he carries them in one of those Lowe-Pro sling bag things. Actually, I don't think he puts them in the cases before he puts them in the sling bag. Maybe he does. I'll have to ask. I've never priced chargers. Since DH bought that extra battery he can just carry one and charge the other. This year he had to charge the battery each night. That made him cranky because we had the laptop and the cell phones plugged in so we were short on outlets.
Sounds like you have things under control! :thumbsup2

THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes for Sophie!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We had a great time at Chuck E Cheese..We must have gotten their before everyone else decided to go because it was not crowded at all. We got our pizza, the kids played & then got their presents with their tickets at the end. Sophie was having a blast as she won more tickets than she ever has before. Just as we were leaving the place turned into a madhouse.

Just before we left for chuck's we discovered that somebody smashed in the back of my van pretty badly in front of my house. We found a large wrench not too far away. Who the heck would do such a thing & why?:confused3 The smash is at least 1 foot around. It has to be at least a grand to pay to fix. We do have alot of rich kids around here with nothing better to do unfortunately.:sad2:

Chanon,
So glad Bob got his ring back...& yes that is wierd the dude didn't tell him sooner. But at least you have it back.

So I did a search for battery chargers and the first one that popped up was nearly $200.:scared1: It charges 2 batteries at one time-nice but I don't need that. The Nikon one that came with my camera is about $40 but I found one that is more of a travel one for under $20 so I might just get that.

I can't decide what kind of bag I want. I'm thinking I'll just go with a case for the camera and lens and then can use my reqular daypack for other stuff too like a jacket and the dreaded autograph book.

Glad Sophie had a great time!

That really stinks about your car. Guess those rich parents are too busy to teach their kids how to behave.:headache: We have a lot of way over indulged kids in our area too.

Off to have cake for Sophie.:)
YUMMMMMMM...

Our Chuck E.'s wasn't crowded, either. Glad the kids had fun!
I am sorry about your van! How aggravating!

Elizabeth, good thoughts for your mom. :wizard:

Thanks!

Bernadette - $20 for a travel charger sounds pretty good. I wouldn't want to pay $200 for something that might get lost or stolen out of the hotel room. We've never had anything stolen, but you just never know. I found a charger for some sort of video game in our room this year and when DH gave it to the concierge desk she looked at him like he had 3 heads. I am not thinking that charger found it's way home!

There was a story on our news the other day that somebody had gone down the street and shot windows out of a bunch of cars. The police said anytime school is out the vandalism crimes go way up. :sad2:

Om my goodness, I would be so mad  Sorry this happened to you, any chance of finding out who did it?

Glad Sophie had a good day!

So I thought the next funeral I was going to would be for my Grandpa, as we were going to bring in hospice Monday. Instead they are now talking about him going to a rehab center as of tomorrow.

My Uncle's Mom and step-dad were both killed in a car accident today. We have no idea how the funeral and things are going to work as they both had previous marriages, and both of their previous spouses are predeceased and buried at different locations.

My poor Uncle feels like his life is falling apart between his wife wanting to leave, his FIL being in the hospital and having tons of medical issues and now his Mom and Step father dying.

I can only image how my 2 cousins are feeling, as they lost two Grandparents at once in addition to all the other wackiness going on.

Please remember to tell your loved ones that you love them, as you never know what is going to happen. :wizard:
