DDA Chapter 16

I've made a lot of progress on Hunter's room. I'll finish it tomorrow as the last thing to do is the closet :scared: I have to work this afternoon so I don't want to get into the project and have to stop. I'll finish it tomorrow and hit Nick's room on thursday. I feel good about accomplishing something. Of course Chris called. Colby answered the phone so I sat in front of the computer knowing that he would soon hand the phone to me. I hear Colby tell him that I'm just on the computer  Chris got a good laugh out of it though :sad2:

I was making good progress, but I decided a nap sounded good to :rolleyes1

The hike was not bad at all, why, because we didn't have to hike!!! The park office was about a mile from the youth camping area. We drove from the office over to there and at the entrance we found a pedestal sign that said "area closed" and one arm of the gate closed. So Tina got out of the van and swung the arm open as I drove through. She closed it back up and we "hiked" over to the youth camping area!!! :rotfl2: At the office the ranger told us there were 6 employees covering 8 parks. There was also another woman in the office so we figured we were safe in not getting caught.

I am glad you made it back safely! You never know what dangers are lurking in an understaffed state park! :scared1:

Jen - YAY for a quick trip!

Chanon - I'm so glad Bob's ring was returned to him. Too bad it wasn't a little sooner to save you both some aggravation.

You'll never beleive this.

Someone found Bob's ring on Wed. The day he lost it. Why would you not tell someone that day!? Apparently the guy found it, left with it before their holiday party (because everyone knew that he was looking for it after the party) and told him today 20 minutes ago. HELLO?!?

Or is this just how men are? "Oh yea, I found something a week ago that might be yours." :headache:

But we have a ring! So enough with my venting.

:yay: so glad it was found!

After that she has to go for a PET scan because she has some weirdness under her arm near the incisions. My first thought is that it all ties in with the lymphedema. Guess we'll see what they say.

Continued :wizard: for your mom Elizabeth!

Elizabeth. I suspect that the clinics will not know that your mother is not following doctors orders as she will convienently forget to tell them that. :wizard:

Chanon Yey for the ring :cool1: :cool1:

Robyn. I like motor hikes too :thumbsup2

Chanon- :yay: for Bob's ring being returned!!

Jen- :yay: for a trip to WDW in Feb!!

Elizabeth- :wizard: for your mom. :yay: for your tree stand being shipped!! I bought a new tree skirt & stockings on clearance yesterday, came home and hung them up and changed out the skirts! I wanted to see if I like them. :rotfl: Eric just shook his head.

Deb- It's not even the 1st of the year and you've got a great start on your resolutions!

Everyone New Year's plans sound perfect. We are doing our Christmas Eve celebration tomorrow night. Dana and I (and our gangs) are usually together for NY's Eve so it was only a matter of getting Amy on board. We normally fondue for NY's so we'll do that and open our Christmas gifts! I swear that it still feels like Christmas hasn't come yet because nothing was normal.

Oh that sounds good too! Do you have a certain recipe that you use?

They will know, because if she had been caring for her arm properly she wouldn't have needed a referral to the lymphedema clinic! :rotfl2:

Robyn - I bought stockings on clearance, too. Arabella didn't bother the ones we had up this year, but they were just hodge podge ones we dug out of storage. I am not quite brave enough to put up my Disney ones, but if Arabella shreds the ones I got for 60% off I won't have a stroke.
The skirt I used this year was a brand new one. Can't remember when I bought it, but it was in the storage bin. I was too lazy to climb up there and try out the new topper. Guess I should do that in case it doesn't fit, so I can take it back.
Your NYE plans sound fun! :)

Not really, we just wing it. Kevin, Dana's Dh, makes up the broth for our dinner fondue. And the cheese fondue we just sort of mix whatever Dana buys!!:rotfl: Sorry that probably wasn't much help!

NICE! It never occurred to me to have the skirt and the stockings match! :thumbsup2 I have a tree skirt I got as a gift that matches a topper, but I have decided I don't really like either one. So this year the tree didn't have a topper and we used the new skirt. The skirt is just a clearance one from Target. One of these days I will get a truly fabulous tree skirt. But not today.

We've been having a great time at WDW. It's incredibly crowded, and though I heard they had cancellations, it's hard to tell it. We came in early tonight, as we're exhausted. I'm sitting here DISing and listening to music from the lobby. Not a bad way to end the day. :)
Sounds wonderful!

I went and picked up my prize package....we are in a SUITE for the Av's game:cool1: and the best part is that it came under the reporting for tax purposes limit by $5 so I don't have to pay taxes on it!!:thumbsup2 ETA: here's where we will be on the 29th! http://www.pepsicenter.com/suiterentals/suites.asp

Then I went to my interview with the staffing agency. It's a little one...2 employees but I have confidence in the lady. Even with my crappy keyboard I am typing at 37 WPM and I passed all the other tests with the accuracy I needed or expected...espescially since they were testing on an antiquated Windows Office Suite and didn't allow for shortcuts. :headache:

I picked this up last night http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/openstation-can-openers-open-station-can-opener.html with some of my birthday money (yes, my birthday is in July....my sister just sent a gc) I had a crappy old opener that saw it's better days about a decade ago. But it took 6 stores to find that one...who knew can openers were such a big Christmas present??
That suite looks really cool!!!! I would love the package opening tool on your can opener! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Good luck with agency!

I have no motivation to create autograph books for our trip. I was even looking at Ebay to see if I could buy something premade.
You know they have ones that are fine at WDW! I would try to get them to share one though-that makes it so much easier! My kids used to have their own but they now share (they don't have a choice) and they are fine with it. They take turns handing the character the book and pen.

I hate to admit it....but I don't miss the the whole autograph thing at WDW
I was really hoping my January trip would be autograph book free but she wants one.

What about the Ratatouille characters? Are they still there or did they get canned by the Bolt guys?
The Ratatouille characters were gone in January 2008 when I went with Joe. I'm surprised they didn't put them in France in Epcot. They didn't have anyone in that spot in MGM til they just added Bolt I guess. They had a nice Wall*E display but just a cardboard Wall*E not a real meet & greet.

I am on the phone with Kathrin. She is upset that she cannot get to the funeral. She can't fly into any airport less than 3 hours away from our hometown. She can't get a train into any town or back out from any town that is remotely close.

She tried to persuade me that she should rent a car and make the drive. Google tells her is will only take 8 hours. My brother made the drive one time and it took 14 and he said it was a horrible drive and he would never do it again.

Why my in-laws decided that this all had to take place so quickly and on New Year's Eve I will never know. (vent over.... thank you.)
Poor Kathrin.

He went to work but that doesn't mean anything. He didn't have a fever when he left. But I have a sore throat (but I slept poorly) and my temp is higher than normal (but that could be because I slept with socks on).

I got up late so I better get ready for work.
Hope he's all better and you don't catch it!

What women really want!
:lmao: That was great!

Deb, was it you that asked about the Kindle? My friend Michelle had one and I was messing with it while we were in CA. I can really see it being nice to have. Totally easy to use, very easy to read and would be great especially on a trip when you could just pack that instead of several books. As long as I could get title I would want and had the money, I'd totally get one!
Someone in my office got one for Christmas and they love it! They subscribed to a newspaper on it and it is much cheaper than the paper version of the paper and it is just there on their Kindle. I can see how great it would be if you took the train to work or traveled a lot.

Lucy seems back to her normal self. Thanks for asking. I know you'll come up with some fabulous autograph book.

I am moving at tortoise speed this morning. Which would be fine except that I and another Girl Scout mom are meeting at 10am to drive over to the eastern shore (an hour or so from here) to check out a State Park campground. It was going to be a fun escape until we learned we had to hike about a mile to the youth campground, it's closed til April 3. Fun, fun!!

Will chat with you all later. Have a great day
Nice to hear Lucy is better! Glad you hike wasn't too bad. How was the campground?

Good morning,

We are off to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Sophie's 8th birthday! How did my baby get to 8 so fast?:sad2:

We were watching some old tapes (yes tapes!) of the kids at Disney when they were all babies. :sad1: Besides the fact that the kids were little (& cute!:cutie: ) it was funny to see some of the changes at WDW. Like the trees in front of the castle that are no longer there. The garland across main street which was not there this December. The old Tarzan show at AK & the 2002 version of MVMCP parade.
Happy Birthday Sophie!!!!

I've never been to a Chuck E Cheese. I guess I better hurry up and order something else for Joe's birthday!

My friend Terry sent me a photo book from shutterfly with pictures of the 4 kids at Disney back to our first trip in 2002. She did an awesome job pulling all the photos together and it was fun to see how much the kids have grown.

You'll never beleive this.

But we have a ring! So enough with my venting.

I have to ask: Is this guy married? Surely he can't be or he didn't tell his wife he found it or she would made him call Bob.

Glad it was found!

I am not sure what Im doing for New Years Eve yet...even though its tomorrow!
I may stay home and be a bum..or ill end up goign to our local sports bar til midnight...Im waiting to see what my brother and cousin are doing and then ill decide!

I had a friend make my tree skirt from Christmas fabric. I HATE the tree skirts in the stores because they are always too small for my tree or look like they are made from fabric that will fall apart if you look at them wrong. I'll post a picture when I get home of it...if you know anyone that sews, they are really easy to make!
