DDA Chapter 16

The nasty weather you all were experiencing yesterday played havoc with our flight last night. We were delayed twice, and finally departed 100 minutes late, arriving at our Park 'n' Fly at BWI at 1:15 a.m. Before our flight could board and take off they first had to call in security and the Orlando PD to take one of our potential passengers off the property. He had expressed his displeasure a little to vocally to me personally and to the crew at the gate in some pretty nasty terminology. So he (and his really stupid wife who stood by him through it all) were removed from the airport under a lot of duress. :confused3

Ugh! I am so sorry you had such a terrible time! If DH ever shot his mouth off in the airport I would abandon him. I would walk away and not look back. I have a very short temper but there is NO WAY I would ever lose my cool in the airport.

Massachusetts looks good around the 4th of July. We'll be up there and could plan a meet. ;)

That is crazy! It is reading 46 degrees now and supposed to be 51 over night with a high tomorrow of 63. :confused3

Boston was wonderful this past July 4th! :thumbsup2

It was certainly warm in Baltimore this morning, but those winds were still pretty strong.

I called for my schedule and I don't have to work until tuesday night. That means I have another day off :cool1: Of course I will be working Wednesday night though. We refer to NYE as amatuer night. It seems that people who NEVER go out feel the need to go out on NYE. They have no idea how to behave in a restaurant not to mention the crappy tips. Usually NYE is not the best night to work. At least I will get home before most of the drunks hit the road.

Heidi how far is Dorney Park from you? That looks like a fun place. What about any white water rafting places?

I am guessing about an hour for Dorney for Heidi. But you did not ask me.;)

Ohh, white water rafting. I love whitewater rafting. :thumbsup2

Whitewater Challengers
Pocono Whitewater

I have rafted with both and have had good experiences. If Colby is old enough I would recommend a dam release day, as the water is likely to be faster moving, which leads to not as much paddling, and less likely to get stuck on the rocks.

I also like, and wish we would have gotten, a breakfast room/sunroom off the back, just sort of to increase sitting space in or off of the kitchen. We end up hanging out in there a lot, especially when we're entertaining just family and have food everywhere, and I'd have loved that.

I really want to build a sunroom off the back of our house for that very reason. My MIL has a wonderful sunroom off the back of her dining area. She also has a great room. I love the sunshine in that room. It is one of my favorite rooms from anywhere ever. I want one as well.

I am really, really excited about Christmas next year! With my new stockings, my new tree stand, and all of my new ornaments I will have more Christmas spirit than you can shake a stick at! I was looking for a topper, a wreath, and a stand this year and I managed to get all of those. Of course my stand hasn't actually arrived yet, so something could still go wrong there.

Not to mention that you will be an award-winning baker by then too! ::yes::

Jen Chris is sitting here commiserating with you. Dallas is getting smoked so he knows that you are not happy. Tampa lost earlier and Tampa is Chris' favorite. Then he needed the Jets to win to put NE in the playoffs and unless there is a miracle in the next 30 seconds that isn't going to happen. He says it is a horrible day for football.

You should have tried watching the NE/Bills game with a bunch of Bills fans. ;)

Hi, all! I can't stay on, since I'm at my parents' house. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Beth

I ended up finding a case for the Touch, so that is a good thing. I also ended up with a stereo docking system but am not sure I am keeping it or not. I am not sure if I like how it is set up. It was less then half the price of the same thing on Amazon.

I also got two sets of 100 solar powered LED lights. Gotta charge them in the sun tomorrow and see if they work.

The one store I was at, has so much Christmas merchandise still you would think it was a month before Christmas. Everything was 50% off, but I am gonna wait to see if it goes to a higher discount.

Tomorrow it is back to work. I am not thrilled. Although I have two full days and a partial day. But I have to work on Saturday, so I will probably work less then that. Or I might take some time next week. We shall see.

I am still coughing, sneezing and my nose is running like a faucet. Most of this is worse then initially. My throat feels normal though. It boy is annoying.

Have a good night everyone.

Elin- Hugs to you and your family

Tia- Good luck in the house hunt

Tom- Neat countdown, I first I thought every Mickey head was one of those Mickey buttons

Kristine- The bird is too cute. Sorry the kids won't cooperate

I'm thinking that Colby isn't old enough. He is only 6. We all definitely want to do it sometime though. Just as soon as he is old enough. There is a camelback waterpark in that area too. It seems that we can find plenty to do in the poconos. Mapquest has us about 6 1/2 hours away. I'm sure it will be a bit more pulling the trailer, but that still isn't bad at all.

I have a girlfriend who tells a great story along these lines. Her husband wasn't shooting his mouth of though. They were on their way to St. John's Island. She's one of us in that she likes to get to the airport with more than enough time to spare. Her DH likes to get there with just enough time to board the plane. So he was taking his good ole time getting ready to leave for the airport. She kept yelling at him and he kept telling her to relax, that there was plenty of time. Somewhere in there she keeps reminding him to get his birth certificate to bring to the airport. So they get to the airport with maybe 15 minutes to spare, walk up to the ticket counter and guess what. Her DH doesn't have his BC. Now mind you, they live a 15 minute cab ride to the airport, but because he waited until the last minute to get there, there was no time to go home and get the BC. She was so p issed, she looked at him, said "See ya" and she got on the plane to St. John. He couldn't say anything because he knew he was the one in the wrong. He went home and caught a flight the next day. I'm giggling just thinking about her telling the story.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :thumbsup2 :rotfl: :rotfl:

The big annoyance has gone to bed, now if the three little ones would :rolleyes1

We played Think Fast again tonight. Chris and I both got smoked. Hunter won again. He is walking around pointing out how he is the Disney King.

If there's a little spare PD out there I could use some down here, DH has pulled a muscle in his back and is walking around like he has a corn cob you know where. I told him to go to the doctor in the morning and see what he says, we have a road trip in four days. :headache:
I sure hope your DH is on the mend quickly. You go to the World in hours now!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Pocono Whitewater has some trips that are age 4 and up. Whitewater Challengers has some that start at age 5 and others for age 6 and up. You'd want a class I or II trip. If he is comfortable in the water and can swim he would probably be alright. Although he would probably contribute little to the paddling.;)

I see you are weeding your way through the pages. I was hoping you were compiling a trip report, with pictures. How is your headache?

Headache is gone! Photobucket was acting "snarky" so I gave up for right now. I will try again later tonight or tomorrow morning.
