DDA Chapter 15

Robyn,

I'm praying for all of us as we deal with this economic crisis. :grouphug:

Kevin mentioned that the county commissioners are bantering about closing everything down for two weeks, forcing county workers to take a two-week unpaid vacation. That idea is ridiculous...are they not going to arrest anyone for two weeks?!!

The rumors we are hearing for State of Michigan employees is 20 days off unpaid in the coming year. I assume that would probably not be in a row. It would be one every other week or something.

Debbie -- did you all get any of the freak snow in Ocean Springs?

Vicki - furloughs seem to be the way to save jobs right now... I hope yours does not get any worse.

I have a favor to ask of you all:

If you have not sent out your ornaments for the exchange....PM me when you think you will get them out.

If you have sent out your exchange but haven't seen a thank you...PM me who they went to and when they left you!!

If you haven't received your exchange PM me please!!

I am sorry for dropping the ball this year on this one!!

I know it's not a PM, but I sent both of mine out yesterday!

Anne Marie - hopefully your pin is coming.
Beth - I found what you were looking for and that was also sent yesterday.

Sorry I haven't been around much - I'm afraid to log on while at work anymore...we are "required to leave our computers on" 24/7 now and I don't need to give anyone an excuse for a pink slip.

Janet - that tea was good. I still want to go find some loose leaf vanilla and get a mickey mouse tea ball (if that's what they are called) and have myself some tea.

I also read The Friday Night Knitting Club recently. Very good book - I liked her writing style and how the author hopped from character to character in the blink of an eye.

I'm still reading the Host. So far, I'm liking it a lot.

270 cookies are glazed. :faint:

Kevin is hoping this is his last year as my assistant. :teeth: He's a saint! :lovestruc

Goodnight DDA!

Good morning.

Hello, all! I'm sorry I don't have time to read right now. If anyone has Karen's address, could you please PM me.

Thanks!

She is one that definitely got returned to me, from the old DDA list .... so I don't have a current one. Sorry!

ETA: Theresa should though, for the exchange!

Not bad at all. The only problem that I had is the cosmetic issue. It was on my shoulder, and about the size of a dime before I went and had it checked. So they numbed it and cut it out, then did what they call a purse strap suture. The shoulder moves every direction so the incision stretched as it healed. Now I have a lovely scar the size of a quarter. I tell everyone it's my gunshot wound. ;) For the longest time I refused to wear anything sleeveless. Then I got over it and now I just don't care. That's it. That was the treatment.

A coworker of mine's daughter was born with a hemangioma right on the top of her forhead. Poor thing. But she is almost 3 and it has since disappeared. It took a long time though. I guess they are harmless, just look awful.

It's actually fairly common for babies to have huge ones on their head! They do look terrible!

Elise had a flat-version on her eyelid! It was not very red (more pink) and not raised at all (just in tiny capillaries under her skin), but we were worried it would get worse. Kyle worked a month or so in a hemangioma clinic, and they do have to remove them sometimes from eyes because they make the eye stick shut! Her's disappeared in about 6 weeks.

DH thinks I should keep the appointment and ask the Dr. to get rid of it. Well, I had the one on my knee frozen off and it wasn't too horrible, but I don't know if I want the one on my BELLY frozen off! I think it can stay right where it is. Especially since I figured out that it is not some mutant, cancerous mole. :scared:

I think you should go, too. At least get a confirmation, and then make a decision about whether it stays or goes! :goodvibes

Princess has a BIG red birthmark on her lower leg. Bigger than a silver dollar, but flat. The Dr. said it would be gone entirely by the time she is 5. I am amazed at how much it has faded in the past year.

That's great, for her though, that it's fading! I didn't realize many birthmarks faded!

Goodnight DDA!

Where are the pictures, lady?! (Or are they not sugared yet?)

(And where is my sample? :rolleyes1 ;) Even though I hardly made enough extra to share :guilty: :upsidedow )

We're back at Disney follwoing our WonderFul cruise. Somehow we survived the 4 parks in one day challenge. We made it for Mousefest 101, the Chairman's kickoff party, the Dole Whip meet, the TomorrowLand big 3 (really cute COP, Buzz, TTA) We had dinenr last night at California Grill. We had the best table in the house and saw Holiday Wishes. Just awesome.

We are exhausted, but happy. We have a 50's Prime Time meet today that I'm really looking forward to. BUt right now I'm getting ready for teh Animal Kingdom meet. I'm going to jump in the shower, get dressed and then wake up Terry.

I have been away from all internet devices and my cellphone for 4 days!!! It isso nice just to have access again! Woo Hoo!

I'm glad you're having a wonderful time! I can't wait to hear more, although it's making me sick with jealous! :rotfl:

Forgot wanted I wanted to say. :confused3
O' well good morning all, I am off to make my snowball cookies.

I have a Christmas concert for Jackie this morning at 7 am :scared1: I will say it is my favorite of the 3 kids...it's the only concert where they play actual Christmas music.

I try so hard, but I can't help but get totally aggravated at the grammar school. Kwanzaa song, Jewish folk song, a song about recycling for god's sake but not 1 single Christian song. I am all for equal rights and diversity....even though this school is not diverse AT ALL...but give me a break. Political correctness gone wrong!! Can you tell this is a bone of contention for me :rotfl2:

I am in total agreement with you on this, Kristine! I love teaching at a private music school where we can do whatever we want. :teeth: And if one of the students and/or the parents don't wish to celebrate with us they are welcome to leave at the end of class. We have a 10 page packet with Christmas carol lyrics and at the end of every class in December we pull them out, gather 'round the piano and sing up a storm.

Our recitals all include Christmas pieces and most students also play Christmas solos at this series of recitals. I LOVE it! :goodvibes
