DDA Chapter 15

I took Leighanna and her friend to see Santa downtown tonight. They had a good time. Although Leighanna asked for something I know she won't be getting. I caved and got her that horse last year and she only has played with it a few times. I have learned my lessons on toys like that!

Sounds like everyone got the deals that they were looking for.

I still might get a couple of things on Disney shopping tonight, I have a couple of things in my cart for our trip in February, I just need to check out. Maybe if I procrastinate enough, I will forget it.

Oh what fun!!!

I am exhausted. Just exhausted. But what a fun day. I started out with luggage, sd cards for my camera, bras and ended the day with a 2009 Honda Civic for my daughter.

I fell asleep on the couch. I'm going to bed. Nite nite.

We are gearing up for our last few hours here. The girls have had a great time and I am sure will not want to go home and face reality. They are spoiled here like you wouldn't believe!

Yesterday afternoon we checked into the hotel where my Jane works so the girls could swim for a bit. After that everyone gathered in the suite for a pizza party. It was great fun. We then went over to the park for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Then we came back and got the girls settled in with Linda and John. Eric and I went out for the evening with Jane, Jim, Dave and Beth. It was so much fun to hang out with them. The only downside was that we were in a smoky bar and my throat is killing me, but it's a small price to pay for the time I got to spend with them.

Everyone is headed over here sometime this morning to hang out before we hit the road. I am sure once we are settled nicely on the road I'll be on to pass the time.

Nicholas' furniture is being delivered today. I had to pay extra for delivery and set-up, which means they take it out of the boxes and put it in his room, connect the headboard to the frame, etc. Again, I paid for this. Would you tip the delivery men, and if so how much? I hate this tipping thing our country has decided to adopt. Waitresses/waiters, yes because their pay is usually made up by tips, but why should EVERYONE be tipped for doing their JOB, which they get paid to do?

We never have anything delivered, but my Dad used to work for a furniture chain. Occassionaly he delivered furniture and I don't recall him ever mentioning being tipped. I think the regular delivery guys were paid well to do it.

Good morning. My goal for the day is to get my butt outside and put up the decorations. It is supposed to be near 40 degrees today and the weather forcast for the rest of the week looks cold and/or snowy. I cannot procrastinate any longer. That means I need to hit the shower now. TTYL

I have never tipped when we have had furniture delivered, I guess I never thought about it

I've never tipped. And I have accepted a LOT of furniture for my various bosses over the years and never tipped.
We did tip our moving men because it was POURING rain when we moved in, and it was the entire contents of our house, not just bedroom furniture.

I am taking the girls clothes shopping today. Their Grandmothers gave me money to buy them their Christmas gifts.

The men are staying home to play Wii & relax.

Alan just confirmed me as a friend on facebook. I got to see Timothy. He is absolutely beautiful, perfect. I am so happy for them. I hope that Glynis is doing well too

Well, it is 10 AM and no word from my mom.
I just told DH it would not surprise me one bit if she decided to go to the big Hillbilly In-Law dinner today. That would mean she doesn't see DS at all, or she makes a big huffy deal about coming to see him before she heads home tomorrow.

does anyone still have the ads. I threw mine away and then found out that my wireless mouse got broke. I thought I saw one for 9.99 somewhere.

I got a Microsoft one at Staples for $12.99. They showed them in color in the ad but only had grey in the store. I'm really loving it. My original Apple was falling apart and I was always loosing connection-it was such a pain.

One thing I forgot to tell you with my cousin. Yesterday my sister and I went to Best Buy with him so he could get a TV. Well just as he was leaving a woman came up and said hey your the one from the paper, the one they were taking off your coat. I am so glad you are ok and gave him a hug.

Miss Steffy-you have the best shopping trips

Tammi-When Jim worked at a service job we were always pleasantly surprised when he got a tip. We tipped the gentlemen who brought our piano over from the grandparents because they went above and beyond.
