Time for me to head off to work, I definitely see a nap in my future

I headed to bed at 12:30 and found myself awake before 5:30 :scared: I will certainly be tired before this day is through. I need to get the turkey in the oven then head out to get a newspaper.

Have a Great Thanksgiving

Heidi I hope you are feeling better :wizard:

My parents always had our presents wrapped & I have done the same through the years for the boys. Even though no wrapping sounds like a good idea :thumbsup2

We received our black Friday ads in the paper yesterday. There is a lot I would like to buy, but the wallet will just not allow. There are a couple of things I would like to get though, just need to decide how early I want to get up tomorrow.

I have to work today & then we are going over to mil's for dinner. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I just ran through all the flyers. I am amazed at how few great deals are out there. I really didn't see a ton of stuff that we need or even want. It looks like a short BF morning for me. Kohls, Staples and Radio Shack :confused3

Well the Turkey is cooking and I've already been over to my parents house. Since the Turkey doesn't come out until 10 and I only got about 4 hours sleep, I think I'll try to take a nap between now and then. TTYL

Jennifer- Everything was always wrapped at our house. Including stuff in our stocking. Because everything was considered from Santa. Sometimes it was in gift bags if it was large or odd shaped. But pretty much it was concealed in some way or another. Although I am not sure I agree with the environmental aspect of wrapping everything, but I will probably wrap everything when I have kids.:thumbsup2

It makes it fun to guess what is in each package and draws out the process. Unwrapping everything is one of my favorite memories, as to me it is more fun to have it be more of a surprise then to see everything right away.

I love to see how our traditions vary. When I was in college I spent Thanksgiving and Easter at friends houses as I could not come home and I enjoyed sharing in their different traditions.

I love the pictures of your girls. They did so well with Santa.

This is exactly how I feel, so I don't think this is a tradition that is going to change any time soon. I suppose I'll just have to keep plugging away at the wrapping! Most of the stuff isn't for the girls, anyway, at least for now! :)

The girls honestly couldn't care less about Santa. I think he was just "another guy"! :rotfl:

Have a great Thanksgiving!

poor Jeff has no idea what time he will be home tonight. He works at home depot and he had to close tonight. They locked the doors at 9pm, but they have to do the regular clean up and stock plus set up for black friday.

That stinks! I hate when Kyle is working holidays. This year he took a moonlighting shift overnight because we need the money (and it pays well!), so he went in at about 2am and will be home some time between 8 and 10.. that's not so bad. I hope Jeff's day isn't too long and you and the girls have a great day! :goodvibes

Kyle brought the paper in this morning before he left, but I've yet to look at it. I'll probably wait until I get to my parents because we usually look together. I can't wait to see them! My mom is working so much now, that we don't see any of them often even though they live about 15 minutes away! :( I heard that the sales aren't great this year, which is surprising to me given the state of the economy. :confused3

Happy Thanksgiving my friends!!!!!!!!

Jennifer, the pictures of the girls are just adorable!!

Debbie - lots of :wizard: for your DD.

It seems the sickies have found me this morning. I am quite liking the potty  I tried to nap, with no success as I was shivering. I did take a no potty pill so hopefully that will completely cure me before the Turkey even hits the table

I hope that the rest of the DDA and their families are feeling much better this morning.

Jennifer, I can't tell you how precious your girls are, :cloud9:

I do need to ask for some Pixie Dust, DD went to the doctor today and he wanted to keep her overnight for observation because of her blood pressure, she convinced him to let her go home, but I have given her strict orders to go to bed and stay there, so dinner has been moved here.

Lots of good thoughts for DD!! :wizard:

Well since all the sick DDA insisted I be sick too ;)
I have a 9 am app. on Friday. I have a slight cough, but am very phlemy (sp?) in the morning and slight pain in my ears, so I am going before it gets worse.

Feel better, Heidi! :wizard:

Elizabeth - I hope your Mom's drive goes well. Too bad for your bosses and Princess. :(

Thanks! I am sure they made it just fine.
My bosses were going to see if they could join their next door neighbors. The neighbor had phoned on Tuesday to ask what my bosses were doing, so Momboss was planning to call and see if the offer was still open.

I have to work tomorrow a 12hr shift tomorrow. I hope its not to crazy

Hope you have an easy shift today! :wizard:

Ick. I am so sorry you have to work today! I imagine the thief won't show up, but people have been known to do stupid things. :rolleyes1

DH went in at 10 PM last night and came home just after 3 AM. He said he was at Kroger at midnight and a guy was yelling because the turkeys were all frozen. Hello? At midnight on Thanksgiving Eve? Bonehead.

We got our turkey on Sunday and DH said it is still frozen. So much for planning ahead! He is getting ready to put it in the sink in some water to try to thaw it out. That's the good thing about having just the 3 of us. If the turkey doesn't thaw out we will just eat pork loin and have turkey tomorrow!

Bernadette - I read your suggestion about going to WDW earlier with DS. The thing is, I only get 10 days of vacation. This year only half of the days counted as "mine" because the other week my bosses were gone. I really want to go in December next year so I want to save some of my days. I also don't want to mess with redoing the flights and booking more hotel nights. DH said he wants to see something different. I told him we can go to a water park and play mini golf at WDW because he has never seen those before. :rolleyes1

Does anyone know of any promo codes or advance ticket codes for Disney on Ice. Mickey and Minnie's Magical... will be in our area in January, but the Disney site is asking for codes to view tickets :confused3

I can't use my Airtran discount codes, so if anyone wants them, PM me. The can't be used on a standing ressie.

Becky - have you tried Eucerin for your hands? I have a student who swears by it.

Jennifer - I hope it was not too late when Jeff got home last night!
