Princess just walked up and handed me a booger.

Theoretically I should be going home in 3 hours or less.

Boogers, blech. :scared:

I hope you get to go home sooner!

We are celebrating Emma's report card with take out Chinese. (of course, the fact that I can't cook is a good reason too!)

Mmmm. Chinese sounds heavenly.
We hardly ever call for Chinese because we never have cash in the house, and none of them take checks anymore. They all take credit cards but I am not thrilled about handing out my credit card number to a random delivery guy. :scared: Maybe I should stop at the ATM on my way home. I am going to put my pajamas on the second I walk in the door and I am going to stay in them for as long as possible. I would LIKE to stay in my pajamas until I have to come back to work on Monday, but I don't think that is probable.

DS desperately needs a haircut and DH is not allowed to take him for haircuts anymore. We had a coupon for a haircut for $10. TEN. DH came home and gave me the receipt. He paid $30, yes, THIRTY DOLLARS to have DS's hair cut. It doesn't cost that much WITHOUT the blankety-blank coupon!!! :headache: And both of them were completely befuddled by HOW it came to that price. So DH will NEVER accompany DS to another haircut, ever. DH claims he showed the lady the coupon and she said it wasn't valid on whatever package DH requested, so DH just paid full price for it instead of telling her "Please do whatever the $10 price includes."

Maybe I will just let DS's hair keep growing. He likes that "homeless" look, and it sounds like all of his photos for the yearbook are finished. They did band and honor society photos today. So, maybe I can stay in my pajamas until Monday.

Stay in the pajamas. I know I can't so you get an extra day for me, deal?!

Eric went and picked up the dinner and a movie from Redbox for the girls and I. As soon as dinner is over we are headed upstairs to watch it and then go to sleep. Hopefully in my case.

Yeah I don't think Eric would be allowed to do haircuts either if he paid $30 for one. That is insane, let it grow.

A movie might be kind of fun. A RENTED movie, not a theater movie. I guess I should call DH and see what they are doing. Maybe they can go get a movie and stop at the ATM, then we can have the Chinese delivered. That doesn't sound like a bad plan, actually.

See I am full of good ideas!!

We got Kit, the American Girl movie. Emma and I already saw it but we liked it a lot and I think Mo will sit through it.

Tammi,

Can you post your Cinnamon Ornament recipe please.
Here you go.

1 cup cinnamon
1 tbsp. ground cloves
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. allspice
1 tbsp ginger
3/4 c. applesauce

In medium bowl, combine cinnamon, cloves, allspice,
ginger & nutmeg. Add applesauce, stir to combine.
Work mixture with hands 2 to 3 minutes or until dough
is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut dough with cookie cutters.
Using straw or pencil, make small hole in top of ornament.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 150 degrees for 1 hour
Remove from the cookie sheet and bake on the oven
racks for another hour and a half.

You can mix in decorative glitter to give them sparkles. I sprayed mine with glitter spray for fabrics prior to baking.

I was just getting to leave my DDIL's house last night and my phone rings with my Soaring ringtone and I let it play---- then I answered it and it was Stephanie and she was over the moon. Her Mouse Fest package had arrived. I promised to drive home safely so I could see if my Mouse Fest package had arrived.

Then my DDIL proceeded to tell me that the Golden my son had had for twelve years and then gave up for adoption two years ago was going downhill very fast and the couple that have him made the decision to put him down on Monday. The year Howie gave him up it seemed Jake had been growling a lot at their two sons and there was concern he could bite and he was already having pain from his arthritis and could not do stairs so that was why he had been adopted. Now, he can hardly walk and is in pain all of the time and is peeing in the house. Needless to say, when I got home I was not really in the mood to look at my package that my darling hubby had placed right on my computer. I will look at it this weekend. It really hit home with our cats all being 14 years old too. Especially Cobain, he is now at 7 and a half pounds which is half what he weighed 2 years ago. He seems okay but you can tell he is moving a lot slower. He almost looks like a skeletin with a fur coat.
Terry -

I really need to call and make an appt to have my oldest dog put down. He is 18 and feeling every bit of it. He's pretty much blind and deaf, and arthritic. I almost called while I was driving home today to make the appt. If I'm going to do it I need to do it before my trip to cut my kenneling cost in half. I can't bear to do it though. He was my first pet after I went out on my own, and has been with me ever since, through thick and thin. He is the one that stayed by my side, never left me, and has been with me longer than anyone. Probably longer than anyone combined!

I am back with 2 stitches in my thumb. Once all the bleeding stopped it wasn't as bad as I first thought but I did do some damage. Total ER time was 2 hours, which is really fast. It doesn't hurt too bad right now but I am sure it will be later.

Thanks for all the well wishes for both Joe and I. I talked to him when I was waiting and he says he feels much better now.
I'm glad it went quickly and hope it isn't causing you too much pain.

Excellent job, Emma!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Yep, that's the 'in' style. Just look at Josh and Drake or Zack and Cody or the Jonas Brothers.

We got Kit, the American Girl movie. Emma and I already saw it but we liked it a lot and I think Mo will sit through it.
You and Alyssa are brainsharing tonight! Friday night is movie and pizza night here and it was her turn to choose the movie. She picked Kit and we stopped at Redbox on the way home. Now we eating and watching.

OK, definitely not THAT movie for us. I did call DH and tell him I want Chinese so he has to go to the ATM. He was OK with that, but he wasn't thrilled with the movie idea. We'll see what he manages to do before I get there. DS is like me - when he gets home he likes to put on his lounge pants and STAY HOME. But maybe going to get a movie would be an incentive for him to put his clothes back on.

Terry, I am sorry about the dog. And the cat. Amanda got blade thin in the year or so before her kidneys completely failed. She was so frail, and we think she had some arthritis in her hips. She was 16. It was HORRIBLE to take her to be put down, but we had to do it. :sad2: We had her cremated and I have her ashes on my computer desk. Aurora likes to get up on the desk near the box - kind of odd.

Tammi, I am sorry about your dog, too.

I know, but his hair is the wrong texture for that. He looks silly when his hair gets too long. He also has trouble with his scalp getting yucky if we don't keep his hair short.
