Hope you have a Wonderful Day!

Happy Belated Birthday Jennifer! Hope that it was a fantastic day and you have a wonderful year!

I like the premise of Facebook... just not all the "stuff" that is there. I have reconnected with 3 friends from HS that I have not seen in 40 years! That part of it is wonderful.

I have reconnected with some old friends as well on Facebook. I also finally paid for a membership on classmates.com and have reconnected with some of my childhood friends. I lost touch with them after moving while in middle school. I also found a couple of college friends on classmates.

If I can find the stand for the little tree....how the heck does a custom stand not make it back into the tree's box??:confused3

Or maybe it will be our bigger little tree....either way I will make sure you see pictures!!

Elin lost an entire tree and you are surprised that you can't find a stand? ;)

Neither did we unless the girls had a really special teacher that they wanted to give something to. There is no way that I would get something for everyone of the middle school and high school teachers.

I am feeling better about not doing teacher gifts.

Happy Birthday, Vicki!!!

I loved Brownies as a little girl. We had so much fun and I can still remember all of it pretty vividly.

Thanks for the link Tia. When we met last week we let the girls sort of occupy themselves while we gathered our thoughts and such. Near the end of the meeting we sat down with the girls and told them what we were expecting out of them and got their input on how they want to do things as well. We came up with an opening, a middle and an end to the meetings so they know exactly where they stand. In the last troop there were none of the traditions of GS's and that's why we did what we did. Most of us felt that the girls just thought it was social hour.

We are beyond excited to get to do things with the girls that we couldn't do before. There is a whole world out there for them to explore.

It sounds like you are going about this the right way! I loved being a Girl Scout leader and seeing the girls grow in all their new experiences.

nope...I am one of "those" ones...I don't like the movie. :rolleyes1

eta: okay I just went looking for it...what channel is it on?

I did/do not like Wizard of Oz either. I have NEVER ever watched the whole thing beginning to end. I would always get up and leave during the parts I didn't like (which was a good portion of it).

Wow, what a day. I don't even know where to start :confused3 We left here at 1 PM for the concert. Traffic was horrible and we got to the concert parking with 5 minutes to spare. While walking in I looked down and saw an object on the ground. It looked like a clear bouncy ball with something in it. I picked it up and it was a clear oval shaped ball with an angel in it :confused3 Very strange considering where it was, but I stuck it in my purse and moved on. The concert was pretty crappy. It was in a metal building with very very poor acustics. You couldn't make out a single word. The concert was Rick Derringer (Hang on Sloopy) and the Lovin' Spoonfull's (What a day of a daydream and Nashville Cats). Oh well, it was for a good cause and it was something different. We left the concert a bit early and headed to the mall. We ate and did a bit of shopping though not much. Then we headed to Christmas tree shop. We found some cute things for teacher's gifts and I even gave Elin a call as we found little animal ornaments (Elin I do have a package slip for the post office). We hit a couple more stores then headed home. We picked up my car at Chris' work around 11 PM. I waited at an intersection for the green light, then proceeded. A truck came out of nowhere and nearly hit me broadside. I think he may have stopped 2 feet from me. Of course he laid on the horn. Chris and the kids were behind me and saw the whole thing. The guy in the pickup truck ran the red light and Chris said that he had to be going at least 40 MPH before he finally hit the brakes. He had run the red light, not me. Needless to say we were all shaken up. Now I'm wondering if that object I found was from a guardian angel? :confused3 or just a coincidence. I suppose I will never actually know, but it is small enough that it will stay in my purse from now on. It can't hurt can it. So when you all say your prayers tonight be sure to give God a great big thank you from me and my family

:grouphug:  I'm glad that you are safe!

I'm finally caught up. I got home about 12:30am on Friday night/Saturday morning. We went to visit Chuck's mom yesterday. We helped do some chores around the house and cleaned up more of Dad's stuff to get it out of the house for her. We enjoyed the hot tub for about 1/2 an hour. We were in bed by 8pm. I didn't realize how tired I was. Chuck had some work to do this morning so I've been catching up on the DDA. He is making me stroganoff for dinner tonight. Katrina is going to come home today to celebrate with me. I hope to get out and rent a movie for us to watch. It is snowing so I'm not sure I want to go outside. :lmao:

I just found out i may be going to disney in march for a quick trip. Our friend from the cruise will be home and were thinking of 3 days in Disney together. Im hoping it works out because i think it would be so much fun to be there with him! Then.....another maybe trip! :scared: That would ruin my birthday! (of course it is in July...)

I hope you have a wonderful day, Vicki!! :goodvibes

I hope both sets of plans work out for you, Jen!! :yay:

I hope I don't forget anyone...

Deb- So glad that you and the boys are safe.

Janet- Like Elizabeth said, apologize and move on. It happens to the best of us.'s

Jen- Yay for more trips!!!

Elizabeth- I hope that DS is feeling a bit better and that you get a nap. I am glad the party wasn't as bad as you feared.

Vicki- Thanks for the vote of confidence. We have a great group of parents that all have various backgrounds and each of us are willing to step up and give the girls those experiences. From camping to crafts to self defense and helping out the community~ we are determined to get these girls well rounded.

Elin- Glad you had a such a fun shopping day!

Debbie- Sorry your trip is over.'s

Thanks for all the comments on the pics. I think Brendan is pretty adorable too. When I saw him yesterday he didn't look like the same baby from the hospital. It's so odd though for me to be so in love with a little boy! The girls are thrilled to have a little boy to spoil. His name means prince and I think it's pretty right on.

I am off to drop Emma off at the nursing home, they are having a bingo fundraiser and my mom wanted Emma and Alyssa there.

Then I need to take Lucy to the urgent care clinic, she has been coughing for a while but does when she is cutting teeth. This morning she woke up wheezing.

Then it's dinner at the in-laws. We haven't been over there in ages so I have no idea why they called to invite us over.
