Anyone else order this new magazine:

http://www.celebrationspress.com/

I received my 1st issue a few of days ago & it looks to be a very good one! I have not read anything in it yet as I am saving it for my flight in a couple of weeks(if I can hold out that long lol).

I haven't gotten mine yet, but I did order it. I figured if I liked it great if not it was one free magazine.

Ok how did you get it free? I paid a year subscription for $24.99(6 issues).

Jack Frost is coming on now(Micheal Keaton).

I can't remember....I think it was after entering a sweepstakes....or through one of the click through emails I am always getting.

I just figured out that is a station we don't get....we really have basic channels...but 2 Disneys and Boomerang so that's all we really need.

has anybody heard of seniorhelpers.com ? That's the company I have the interview for on Thursday. It looks like it's a franchise so obviously the people would be different to work for but I was just wondering about the group's reputation.

I love the Boomerang channel, but we no longer have it :(

Wow, what a day. I don't even know where to start :confused3 We left here at 1 PM for the concert. Traffic was horrible and we got to the concert parking with 5 minutes to spare. While walking in I looked down and saw an object on the ground. It looked like a clear bouncy ball with something in it. I picked it up and it was a clear oval shaped ball with an angel in it :confused3 Very strange considering where it was, but I stuck it in my purse and moved on. The concert was pretty crappy. It was in a metal building with very very poor acustics. You couldn't make out a single word. The concert was Rick Derringer (Hang on Sloopy) and the Lovin' Spoonfull's (What a day of a daydream and Nashville Cats). Oh well, it was for a good cause and it was something different. We left the concert a bit early and headed to the mall. We ate and did a bit of shopping though not much. Then we headed to Christmas tree shop. We found some cute things for teacher's gifts and I even gave Elin a call as we found little animal ornaments (Elin I do have a package slip for the post office). We hit a couple more stores then headed home. We picked up my car at Chris' work around 11 PM. I waited at an intersection for the green light, then proceeded. A truck came out of nowhere and nearly hit me broadside. I think he may have stopped 2 feet from me. Of course he laid on the horn. Chris and the kids were behind me and saw the whole thing. The guy in the pickup truck ran the red light and Chris said that he had to be going at least 40 MPH before he finally hit the brakes. He had run the red light, not me. Needless to say we were all shaken up. Now I'm wondering if that object I found was from a guardian angel? :confused3 or just a coincidence. I suppose I will never actually know, but it is small enough that it will stay in my purse from now on. It can't hurt can it. So when you all say your prayers tonight be sure to give God a great big thank you from me and my family

Yes you did have a guardian angel tonight :goodvibes Glad you are ok Deb

Deb Have you seen any cam corders on the Black Friday ads.

I've seen them in a lot of different ads. There are so many different kinds now, that I am not sure what I have seen. Keep your eyes open and you will certainly see a bunch :thumbsup2

I have been kind of following a thread on the Coping and Compassion board.

The mom has a son DS's age. On Halloween he stayed at a friend's house. The next day the friend's mom went to work and left 3 boys at the house alone. They had a campfire the night before, and the boys wanted to light it again. The kid who lives there poured GASOLINE on the fire pit, the flames roared up, he dropped the gas can and the gas splashed all over one of the other boys (the son of the mom who is posting) and his leg caught on fire. :scared1:

He tried "stop, drop, roll" but it didn't work. He jumped in a swimming pool, then he moved inside to the bathtub. He was taken to the hospital where they first said he wouldn't need skin grafts, but then it was decided that grafts were necessary.

I just read more today. It turns out the boy's "friends" convinced him the burns weren't that bad and they waited about an HOUR before they called for help! They were so worried that they would get in trouble for playing with the gas that they delayed getting help for him! The mom is trying to deal with her injured son, a ton of medical bills, filing claims with the people's homeowners insurance, etc. :sad2:

I told DS about the thread after I first read it. With this new info I need to talk to him more, and make sure he knows if somebody catches on fire you call 911 RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

OMG, how horrific. My boys are all still up so I took the opportunity to discuss it with them. The more we discuss things the better:thumbsup2

She played Softball in that pic, but also played soccer this year.

Wow, she is quite the little athelete

One last post before I head upstairs to bed.

Wow--glad you are okay deb

I had a nice day---I slept in then got my cleaning done. I took a nice bath (which I haent done in forever!). I helped a friend for a few hours then grabbed dinner. After, my brother and I ended up going to his friends house for a party--i was the driver, but it was great to see the guys again. So now here i am--watching Greys Anatomy that I DVRed..
Tomorrow is...FOOTBALL DAY:)

Elin hope you had a good day shopping.

I did! The first time I was out I was gone for 5 1/2 hours and spent a long time just walking around the mall since it had been ages since I had last been there. I got a couple of shirts and a jacket on sale. Then I went to Michael's to look around and although I found tons of things I liked, when all was said and done, I came away with just some awesome ribbon for the wreaths on the doors at POFQ. It is very Mardi Gras-like!

Kristin and I went out later this afternoon/early evening and just walked around a few shops and then stopped at KFC for chicken. Another place we had not been to in a while. So, like Marci... no cooking tonight!

Becky - I enjoyed the pictures of Acapulco. It has been about 34 years since Bob and I were there. It doesn't look too different from when we visited!

I had a "wish I could forget" incident at work today. I was in the office & an employee came to look at his schedule(he always has some comment to say & I normally let it roll off my back). Today he said the wrong thing & it just tripped my trigger & I went off on him. I was so loud the employees up front as well as the customers heard. I do not feel bad for what I said to the employee, but I do feel bad that everyone else heard me. I should have handle myself better. All I know is that I snapped & I should not have let that happen. If I would have been that employee, I would have walked out.

Today was not one of my most gracious days.

It happens, Janet...

Wow, Deb! I am so glad you found your little angel and she was sitting on your shoulder on your drive home. :grouphug:

It was great talking to you! And thanks so much for thinking of me while you were shopping. :goodvibes

I fell asleep on the couch after dinner and had a 3 hour "nap" and now I am wide awake. I will try to go back to sleep in a few minutes. If anyone is in the market for pearl earrings, QVC's TSV is 7 pair of 7mm Honora pearls for under $30. They are multi-colored and just happen to match a necklace I have from them. S&H is free, by the way!

Good night, DDA!!:goodvibes

Well it's officially over, we're in Tallahassee and Im waiting for DH to wake up so we can head home. I didn't realize how tired I was until we hit the road yesterday, I kept nodding off no matter how hard I tried not to.

Sorry I missed your birthday Jennifer, hope you had a great one.
