Geez, you guys were very chatty today.

We have already rented points for our May trip and have AP's so the great deal won't do us any good.

We leave tomorrow and are planning on driving the truck that we have made maybe four payments on, DH came home this morning and said the service engine light came on. :headache:

Luckily he took tonight off so he took it to the dealer, turns out the thermastat had gone bad, they fixed it with no charge. I'm gonna consider it good luck that it happened, we could have been on the road.

Work was FUN today, our computer system crashed, causing my schedule to be totally thrown off. Good news is we leave TOMORROW! :cool1: :cool1:

Oh, and we have shirts :thumbsup2
I hope you all have a wonderful time! Are we going to get any live reports?

Have a great trip!!!!!

I used to have a Christmas party every year (before kids) and I used to make these stuffed rolls. I bought frozen bread dough. I fried onions, bacon, and bell peppers. I broke up the thawed bread dough, made a circle, put a bit of the fried mix on it, folded up the sides of the circle making a roll then baked. They were really good. You can make ahead and freeze then heat up the day of the party. I think I have to make these again this year as we're doing Christmas here for the first time ever.

Did you book anything tonight?

I think this deal worked well for me. I had 6 nights booked in Jan at AKL CL with AAA room only discount. I changed that to 7 nights GV Poly with about $450 worth of tickets & $200 gift card for less than $100 more. Lizzy needs a ticket. I'll save mine for Jan 2010.

I also booked 7 nights AKL CL for 5/2 to 5/9 with 7 day tickets. I will need a new ticket for that trip and Joe will need a ticket too. So I got an extra night, regular season not value, and almost $450 worth of tickets for less than $300 more. When I called last week they said I couldn't book AKL CL with AAA so this was a great deal for me!!!!

Janet-let me know if I should add you to the room-you'd have to buy a 7 day ticket-about $233.
I'm glad someone was able to get something out of the HUGE deal!

I hope the transition goes smoothly for her  When we moved(it was only once & I was going into 6th grade, thank goodness), my worry was making new friends & fitting in. I was very shy, but it all worked out & I made lot's of new friends with memories that will be with me forever :)

We moved only once and I was 1/2 way through 8th grade and my brother was going into 6th grade. It was very hard for both of us as we moved from a large school to a very small school plus it was mid-year. It did all work out in the end. I'm sure I was a real pill at the time too.

The only way it would be earth shattering is if they were giving away a weeks vacation, to everyone going in 2009.

well that explains why no one called!

So Anne Marie - when will you be travelling to WDW???? :rolleyes1

Someone stop me! I am online with Disney pricing out a week in April (yes Easter!!!) with the new deal. Poly Garden View with dining & one day tickets would be $3555...we have AP's so I would be saving on tickets if we did this...not sure if I should book & cancel August.

Heres my choice WWYD??

Poly 7 nights
B4G3
No tickets, we have AP's
Spring Break! 4/4-4/11
With dining
$3555

ASmusic suites 12 nights
Need to buy tickets (so assume $1200 more)
first week of August 8/9-8/21 (less crowds?)
dining another $1500
Room only with AAA discount $2100 so the whole thing would be
$4800

What to do!!!! WWYD????????

If it were my family I would keep August. I have a feeling that you will still be settling into a new town, school and routine in April. August will have given you enough adjustment time and the kids will be itchin for a change of scenery by then. Even though it will cost more (depending on what upcoming promotions bring) I think it will be much more enjoyable.

Our house is so hot we are considering opening a tropical flower shop in the livingroom or opening the basement as a sauna :rotfl: :rotfl: Seriously it is 79 degrees in here and the heat has not come on. The water continually circulating through the basement is keeping things warm. It will be nice when the temperatures drop again. Right now we are in the 50s. I will say that the floors are toasty warm :thumbsup2 We've had 2 windows open all night. All this heat and only have to fill the furnace once a day.

That alone would totally sell me on the furnace! I love warm floors. :goodvibes

Elin - I'm adding more to your packing for next October. :teeth:

http://www.bottlewise.com/buynow.asp

Also, did you buy those bags that "close" the bottle so you can leave with an open bottle from the park? Hopefully that makes sense - I remember you talking about them before regarding F&WF.

Not at $60 I won't buy that thing!! And I didn't buy the bags (sorry Kristine and Terry) because I couldn't get anyone at WDW to confirm that we would be allowed to use them!

Hunter's wish list is (and in this order I might add)

1. Pokemon Rangers: shadow of Almia
2. A pokemon card pack with a Chimchar card and a shiny Latias card
A how to draw pokemon book
3. My Sims Kingdom game
4. A new game controller for the PS3 (actually for Colby)
5. A new game for the game cube

Not unreasonable requests though he certainly won't get them all. I thought the game controller was a nice touch since he already has his own :goodvibes

We leave tomorrow and are planning on driving the truck that we have made maybe four payments on, DH came home this morning and said the service engine light came on. :headache:

Oh, and we have shirts :thumbsup2

Sorry about your computer glitches today, Debbie! But :yay: for a cheap and easy fix on the truck!

And :dance3: for the shirts that finally worked!!!

Poor man. Bob feels the same way... even our dog is female!

I think your advice for commiserating with the Offended One is a good, Kristine. I find myself doing that with Kathrin these days. She usually can read me better and normally tells me to quit placating her, but this seems to be a good way to handle all her ups and downs right now. I don't think your teenage girls would figure out your strategy quite yet! :thumbsup2

Chuck has the same issue in our house - me, the girls and a female dog.

Evidently they are getting ready to overhaul the Disney Rewards Visa. I got an index card in the mail from them, asking if I would participate in an online survey and then they would send me $20. Of course I did. They had questions regarding a Delux Disney Reward Card, with a high annual fee, but then the extras of it were things like 4% pts on purchases, a free 2nd airline ticket, extra perks at WDW (like a VIP lounge in the park with free internet and soft drinks), free refillable mugs, one child free at things like Wonderland Tea Party. But along with the high annual fee, once you paid it you got x amt of pts. I think the highest example of annual fee they gave was $350, but when you paid it you got 300 pts. For me, this would be great. I use my Disney Visa for EVERYTHING that I can. I got enough pts on there from just this year to pay for my DDP this trip for the kids and myself, with some money left over for souvenirs.

Well, the huge deal won't do us a bit of good. I cannot travel in the months of January-March, there is a blackout from April 5-18 (I think those dates are correct) and the dates in June are not really great for us either. Oh, well...

So Anne Marie - when will you be travelling to WDW???? :rolleyes1

Thanks! You make a good point!

Anne Marie where will you be receiving Christmas cards this year? I guess I'm not sure when you are actually moving.
As of now you can use my NY address. I don't think we will be moved before Christmas.

For myself and 2 kids, I can't beat the dining plan. Plus, when I'm on vacation I want to eat nice meals, not fast food the entire week.
Ditto!

Just for giggles, I checked airfare for the week my kids are off school in April. $4005 for the 5 of us!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
:scared1:
