Robyn - Sounds like a crazy day! I would love to have a margarita tonight, but since I will be driving I will have to skip any adult beverages. Have one for me, OK?

With the schedule she has for the day I think she ought to START with the margaritas! :thumbsup2

One more quick trip down my memory lane, and then I need to get a few things done around here...

This is Matthew's first Halloween 17 years ago when he was 6 months old.

See that kitty pumpkin is a long-standing tradition. I need to carve one sometime today. (Traditions are hard to break in this family.)

Too cute!!

Marci - I could put Princess in her jogging stroller and go walking. I just have to actually follow through with it!

Beth - Cute pics! :goodvibes

Robyn - Sounds like a crazy day! I would love to have a margarita tonight, but since I will be driving I will have to skip any adult beverages. Have one for me, OK?

Elin - I had never heard about that plan, either. But I don't pay much attention to CA stuff.

Dadboss said Princess had a temp of 103 last night, but she seems fine now. :confused3 I guess I'll just keep an eye on her and see how she feels. She is probably tired because she had a crummy nap and didn't sleep well last night.

I hope Princess feels better so she can partake in the festivities!! I just found out the boys are not Trick or Treating tonight. Grandma is taking them to their new beach house so mom and dad can go party. :sad2:

Theresa- I forgot to add that I hope Cassidy's meds kick in fast for her. :wizard:

I will have AT LEAST 1 for you!!! (Probably closer to 3, by the time the night is over!!)

Now I really need to scoot!!

Well, I lost my multi-quote when the computer went berserk, so I'm going to try and remember...

Elin - Love the pictures of you and Bob. The WestCOT info is really neat. I'd never heard of it either.

Tom - Of course everyone loved Leighanna. She's adorable and your wonderful creation just kicked it up even higher.

Theresa - I hope that Cassidy's meds kick in soon and she is feeling better. The interview outfit look perfect! I hope it will bring you luck in your search.

Elizabeth - I hope that Princess is feeling better by tonight and ready to enjoy the night.

Robyn - Sounds like a busy day! I hope everyone enjoys it all and have one for me tonight as well. I'm sure I could use it by then.

Happy Halloween everyone!

after I calmed down a little last night I realized I was also shaking because I was cold!! I didn't realize how cold I had gotten at the last regular season football game....our guys put in a great effort but lost 29-14 (could have been a lot worse but the defense worked their tails off!!)

The team we played behaved very badly from the beginning...the other cheer squad ran up and down our track with their flag not even waiting for our seniors to finish playing the national anthem and the crowds weren't any better so I am writing an email to their principal (only email I could find) expressing my distress at the unsportsmanlike conduct they seem to be condoning. :guilty:

So a year ago I had a dream about this guy that I grew up with. From the time we moved to St Louis when I was in 2nd grade until he graduated from high school the year before me our families did everything together. We went to Disney World one year, skiing a couple of times, dinner all of the time, parents bowled together, I think one or both sets of parents were in the will to care for the other's kids if something happened. Somewhere between his graduation and mine the next year, my dad and his mom had a falling out and I hadn't talked to him since.

A year ago the 28th, I had a dream about running into him in Boston. This prompted me to look him up on MySpace and I ended up finding him. His profile picture....him standing in Fenway park. Last I knew he went to college in Tennessee and I didn't have any clue what happened after that. So on Oct 29, 2007 I sent him a message via MySpace.

So yesterday, I get an email from MySpace that I have a new message. It was him. Oddly enough, he logged into his MySpace account for the first time in over a year receiving my message 1 year to the day that I sent it. Apparently, he was living in Brookline during the time I was at BU. My first Boston apartment was 2 blocks from Brookline and I was in that town all of the time. It's been so nice to catch up with him and I now have his mom's email as well. When I was still in college I she would come into the Target I worked at from time to time, but the last I saw her, Mom was pregnant with Rachel.

Now, if only those dreams I have about finding a lot of money and living in an old Victorian with a lot of land would come to pass as well. ;)

I do believe Princess will be asleep by noon WITHOUT a margarita!
She just threw a most impressive rage. :scared: I put her in her bed so she could calm down. I half expected her to fall asleep, but she didn't. She did manage to settle down and come back out to the play room after about 5 minutes. She had a little bite to eat and now she is watching DoodleBops.

She definitely is not 100% today, but hopefully she will be OK to participate a little bit tonight. I think she will probably be much more fearful if she's not feeling well, and that will be bad because she is so skittish to begin with. But maybe we can get to a few houses before she decides it is time to go home.

This is long winded I know, but my best friend's family could really use prayers and good thoughts sent their way.

They are really struggling with her step-daughter's mom and custody issues right now. DD13 came home from her mom's with deep scratches and cuts on her hand last weekend. There have been escalating problems between her and her mom lately and this time DD decided it was okay for them to call CPS this time. DD does not want to go back to her mom's anymore, a big step for her as she has wanted to give her another chance after the last couple of instances.

Dad met with CPS and the mom yesterday and CPS believes the mom's story that DD is a terrible teenager that beats on her mom. Mom is "letting" DD stay with dad while they get counselling (something DD has been asking mom to do with her for almost a year now). So, Dad and my BF are driving her 40 min to and from school everyday (DD wants to homeschool via a state approved online school or move to a charter arts and sciences school but mom won't agree), pay for everything, plus still pay child support to mom even though DD isn't there at all. Dad and my BF are willing to pay if it keeps DD with them and safe. There have been numerous concerns over the years that I have known them, but no one has ever considered it enough to change custody.

DD is a brilliantly creative person, an amazing writer and really sweet. She's just different (a little odd, total sci-fi junky, 80s rock lover, etc) and not a girly girl by any means. She struggles with these differences being in high school now and they are also what's spurring her problems with mom, I think. The arguments with her mom are over things like not wanting to wear makeup, not wanting her mom to buy her an expensive bike that they can't really afford when she already has one, etc. I hate seeing them all struggle like this and I just wish that things could work out the best possible way for DD and soon. It really has her down worried about when someone's going to make her go to mom's again and what will happen then.

Thanks everyone.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to organize pictures on your computer? I downloaded Picasa and pulled in all of the pictures about a month or two before our computer crashed big time in Jan. We recovered most stuff, luckily, but didn't pull back in Picasa yet. I would love something where I can put keywords to my pictures. I think that at this point I'm even willing to pay for a program if it will do what I want it to do. I have a somewhat elaborate folder system set up in my "My Pictures" folder, but there are still cross overs. I'd love to be able to find, say, all of the pictures with Grandma Bea in them even if some are in the extended family folder and some in Rachel's folder, the family folder, etc.

I wish I had the answer for you, Tia, but I don't. Please let us know if you find what you are looking for somewhere other than here!

Bob just sent me this email and I wonder if it has, or will, affect any of you!

Sprint-Nextel Severs Its Internet Connection to Cogent Communications
Last update: 9:41 p.m. EDT Oct. 30, 2008

WASHINGTON, Oct 30, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- On October 30 at 4:30 pm Sprint-Nextel severed its Internet connection to Cogent thereby partitioning the Internet. It is no longer possible for many Sprint customers and Cogent customers to directly communicate across the Internet. Sprint did so in violation of a contractual obligation to exchange Internet traffic with Cogent on a settlement free peering basis. Sprint and Cogent are engaged in litigation over this matter. Cogent regrets that Sprint chose to take this unilateral action rather than await a determination by the court as to the rights of the parties. Cogent remains ready to reestablish, on the same settlement free basis as previously existed, the connections that Sprint has severed.

Tia - No clue. Gallery sorts our pics by date and tags, so whatever title I add when we load them and the date the camera stamps on them. It gets weird when we load pics from more than one camera, though, because it mixes them together determined by time.

Princess is definitely tired/not feeling well. That "hair trigger" temper of hers is even worse today. She is fine one second and SCREAMING the next. She's not in pain, it is just that every teeny little thing is setting her off. I am going to give her some lunch in a minute, then off to bed! She had a late breakfast or she would already be in bed! :scared:

I hope she gets to feeling better. I wonder if she is also overstimulated?
