DDA Chapter 14

Off to bed early tonight. I got my flu shot and my arm hurts! That is new for me. Besides, for some reason I am really tired tonight.

See you all in the morning. :goodvibes

I didn't notice my arm being sore, but I was really tired for about 3 days after the shot.

I am so angry right now I am literally shaking. I found out less than a half an hour ago that Cassidy came home early because she was sick TUESDAY. Jim's excuse as to why he a)didn't call me, b) didn't call a dr. c) waited until I told him to get an appt ? Because that's the first time she's looked sick to him. Well, damn it, if you have to pick the kid up from school she needs to go to the dr. :headache: :headache:

I told him she's actually been sicker than him (which is beared out on the amount of medicine they are on) and than said nothing.

I hope Cassidy feels better soon! :wizard:

Today is picture day. Yesterday was band pictures. DS said they wore the tuxedos for those pics. Today's pics will be the plain ones for the yearbook. It is also "sunglass" day but I don't know if DS will bother with that or not.

We are going to have pizza with my bosses tonight, then DS will trick-or-treat with Princess before he goes to his party. She was a little "off" yesterday. She felt warm to me, even though she said she felt OK and she went to ballet. She had a bit of a runny nose but she was acting fine. I guess we'll see how she feels today. DS was sick on Halloween the year he was 2, my charge was sick on Halloween the year after that. Seems like somebody is always sick and misses out on the fun.

Kristine - I took your advice and contacted :sunny:Ray Transportation. The owner (anotherBob) seems like a very nice person to work with and is making it easy for me to take care of the payment in advance. Thanks so much! :)

Good morning, DDA!

Tammi

Elin Great pictures!

Elizabeth glad ds gave his stamp of approval on the new costume! Hope princess is feeling ok today :wizard:

Theresa hope Cassidy is feeling better today :wizard:

Theresa - The dress is nice! Did you get it in red or in black?

DS has given the seal of approval to his ninja costume, so that's one less thing to worry about.

I am starving. DH finds it HILARIOUS that my pants don't fit. He is definitely not helping matters. I haven't eaten any sweets or had any soda other than diet (one can per day) this week. My weight hasn't changed. I have drastically cut back on my portions so I can not believe I haven't even lost half a pound. :sad2: Obviously the missing component here is exercise, which is a nightmare for me to try to find time for.

You tell DH he's mean to laugh at you. If nothing more, can you take Princess out for nice long walks when the weather is nice? I really enjoyed my walk last Sunday afternoon and wish I had more time to do things like that.

Hi, and goodnight all. I'm emotionally drained. It was a very difficult day. What hurt the most was seeing his children, 16,13 and 10. I was laying in bed tonight hugging my kids, and thinking that Frank will never be able to do that again, and that his kids won't ever feel their dad's arms around them again. It's all so senseless and very sad.

Here is a video link if anyone is interested.

Sorry, but he seems truly clueless. Are you writing all these incidences down in case you need them later?

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Oh good!! I'm glad...they are just two of the nicest guys around! They even watched the kids for us once when we were finishing a transaction for DVC :rotfl2:

PS - In case no one has noticed I have a link to my pre-trip report in my signature, it's my first ever report on it's own thread. I plan on making live updates while we're there. (But no promises)

I am so not good at looking at signatures, so thanks for the extra notice!

Thanks Marci! We didn't do anything special, watched movies & ordered out food lol

Sorry your day did not go to well  I would have been livid about the phone! Did you call it to see who answers?

Marci, I am sorry about the phone, too!

There is no quick about it. The funeral home is about 45 minutes from here. He would have to commit at least 2 hrs between driving and being there. He doesn't get out of work until 5 PM so by the time he came home, showered and changed it would certainly be after 6 before he even left to go. We did go to her old house to pick up some stuff for her tonight. The son was there trying to empty the house as the rent is only paid through tomorrow. The family was very nice, but it took almost 2 hours for them to decide what we should take with many calls to his mom. She decided that she didn't need to go with us :headache: The autopsy showed gastrointestinal hemoridge caused by long term excessive drinking. The family is very angry at MIL's sister as she was at the house and knew that he was coughing up blood, but did not call 911 as he didn't want her to. She has mental disablilities and the state paid him to be her part time care giver. Apparently she was at his house because he wasn't feeling well and didn't want to have to travel back and forth to care for her. Of course MIL holds her responsible not only for his death, but also for their breakup. It seems the sister fell in love with the boyfriend and enabled his alcoholism by keeping alcohol at her house for him. He claimed that he had no interest in her, but he mental capabilities are limited and she though that if she could push MIL away that eventually he would fall for her. His family liked MIL and does not like the sister and also blames her for the increased drinking. If the sister shows up at the funeral home I think there will be a scene to say the least. At one point we called MIL to see if she wanted the dryer as she needs to get a washer and dryer for her new place. She said that she had stored a bunch of boxes in the laudry closet and didn't feel like cleaning it out :headache: She would rather shell out hundreds of dollars that she doesn't have rather than move a few boxes. In the end we talked her into taking it. I just don't understand her way of thinking. We did tell her that we couldn't attend tomorrow night and she said she was ok with it :confused3 Chris really does not want to go at all so I'm not pushing it.

:grouphug: to all.

I did my half day today, I taught math to 1st graders and did a science lab with 2 8th grade classes. Thankfully that all came back to me :rotfl: I got a call this afternoon asking me to sub again tomorrow morning :thumbsup2 The principal asked me to come in on Monday morning to do a ride along for mini van. I'll do an afternoon run too. I may or may not cover a class or two in between. In any event I will be paid for the whole day. :cool1: I'm really hoping that they will be able to use me at least a couple of days per week. I figure the more training I get the more calls I'll get.

This sounds great, Deb!

I watched the video, and literally have tears streaming down my face. Those kids are almost the same ages as mine, and I just can't imagine them not having a father. There is so much that they will miss sharing with him as they grow. It does seem so senseless.

pixiedust: that Cassidy feels better soon!

If she is anything like Dawn and I, no. We never told our mom we were sick, we just got up and went to school.

Me, too. My mom was mortified when she received a call from the school nurse that I was running a fever of 103. I was able to hide it from her and make it to school, but eventually I just couldn't keep it up.
