DDA Chapter 14

Oh my gosh, she'd love it! JJ's is a great grocery store, but it was definitely just an 'attraction' as a kid. My sister and I both grew up asking to go there! :rotfl:

They have an audio animatronic (but think early... country bears-esque, no jack sparrow! ;)) Elvis impersonating bear that sings.... they have the "Cereal Band" (cereal 'mascot' animatronics singing), this giant campbell's soup can that swings and sings... and tons more things like that. They also have candy from around the world (Epcot has nothing on their UK chocolate section!), lots of fun/strange foods and labels in various languages. It's really fun, however silly that sounds!

If you do come down, let me know! :thumbsup2

This store is sounding familiar, Jennifer. We used to shop at a wonderful grocery store outside of Dayton called Lofino's that was a lot like you are describing. I wonder if they are one and the same?

Kristine - BLECH for your snow and  for your Swamp Thing! But the rest of the party sounded fun. Certainly helped to get you all in the Halloween mood!

The rally with Sarah Palin did not hamper my ability to get into my studio to teach this morning or to get Kristin to work downtown. There was a lot more traffic than usual and I may be eating my words when I go back in about 45 minutes.

It was to be partly cloudy with cool temps and instead it has started to rain and I think 49 is downright cold! According to the blog on our local news site, the crowds are starting to leave and the rally is not over.

I thought MSMBC said all 4 of the Pres & VP candidates are in Ohio today?
At any rate, I hope you don't have issues with the traffic, Elin!

Hmm. I WAS planning to run an errand before I had to go get Princess. Since the housekeeper still isn't here I guess I WON'T.

I was so impressed this poor man was able to get in and out of the water in 40 degree weather without dying

it's a real pond...but yes he did have a wet suit....but still....in & out all night sounds awful

I just heard that Jennifer Hudson's nephew was found dead in the vehicle....how sad

Tia I received the toast tongs today, thank you. When I didn't hear back from you on them I just droped it, as I hadn't paid you yet. I will send a check on Friday.

Good wishes to Maverick! I hope everything is OK! :wizard:

I just paid $2.32. Filled my tank for less than $40!
The week I bought the Black Pearl gas was $2.22, so we might see that price again!

I would think they are looking for letters from supervisors or people who are at least lateral to you in employment. Of course if you don't have 3 of those then go with the volunteers but make a note that they are more "personal" than "professional" references.

The cheapest that we've seen was in FL at $2.72/gal. I did see $2.74 here during a gas sale. It amazes me how the prices vary so greatly.

I enjoyed all the halloween photos.

Elin I think I own the sandals that you wore in your wedding photo, only mine are black :rotfl:

I am officially caught up. I'm sorry that I wasn't around last week to offer support during what was obviously a stressful and tradgic week  I'm back now and you are all in our thoughs and prayers.

And to answer Stephanie's question we were in building 16 at OKW. We loved the closeness to the hospitality house and main pool area :goodvibes It was a very short walk. We never got on a Disney bus.

It is 47 degrees here. Dad is saying we could get a snow storm tomorrow. Brrr.

I need to be at work in 1 1/2 hours and I promised Colby that we could sort through the shells that we found. I chat with you all after work.

Announcing the 2nd scariest toy I have seen on TV (That freaky doll that grows the teeth is still first!):

The Hanna Montana styling head. :scared:
So glad I am a boy mom!

Neither of my girls were into that or any dolls for that matter....when I was a kid I didn't like dolls either...I loved stuffed animals....and Kirsten is obsessed with them.

I liked dolls and stuffed animals. Baby dolls, Barbies, and all sorts of stuffed animals. I still played with my Barbies when I was 12.

I always wanted an Easy Bake oven and a Lite Brite. And a Simon game.

DS has a Lite Brite but he never plays with it. He plays with Legos, K'Nex, Lincoln Logs, Zoobs, Brio train track, and anything else he can use to make creations. He has Tinker Toys but he doesn't use those for anything. Yesterday there was something on about the making of "Corpse Bride". When that was over he ran off to make a stop-motion film with his Star Wars action figures. He was very impressed with the combination of classic stop motion with digital technology in "Corpse Bride".
