DDA Chapter 14

I forgot to mention that I am still in the running for the Post Office job. I got an email asking for more information as they need to to a background check. I need to fax them a form so hopefully I can do that from the office at school. At some point I'll have to have a drug test. No worries there :rotfl: :rotfl:

pixiedust: for that job!

Sprout TV is for the young crowd. It is an upper channel (118?) here. They play shows like Bearstein Bears. (spelling on that?)

Thank you Heidi, Mac, & Elizabeth for the explanation!

I just got off the phone with Kathrin. It looks very good (in my opinion) for this job at The Princeton Review. The position is down to Kathrin and one other writer. This morning she had sessions with 3 of the 4 people who wanted to meet with her. They were all very complimentary and told her that her writing style was exemplary that and her background in higher education marketing was something they hadn't expected to see come across their desks. In fact, they had not adequately (again, my opinion) checked into her work at Royall & Co. or they would have known she was doing this very thing for over three years before moving to Boston! After she got into the conversation with the head of internet marketing he realized what she really knew. He was blown away! He told her that she could walk into the position right now and take over half of his work without any training. And that is exactly what they were looking for.

The one person who she really needed to meet with was called away to a board meeting late last night and could not be there in time for the 10:00 appointment they had set. So, they asked if she was willing to do a short telephone interview with the "potential boss" if they felt it was something they needed to have on file.

I don't want to get my hopes up (and neither does she) but it certainly sounded like they are very taken with her. They also promised to let her know within 2 business days.... which means by tomorrow.

Keep sending that PD, please!

I am back and I have a new nephew. Baby Buzz, no official name as of yet, was born at 9:59am and weighed in at 7lbs 1.6ozs. He was 19inches long. When I left the hospital, he was having a bit of trouble breathing. It wasn't nothing major as his color looked good but he was slow in response. Any additional good thoughts you have I'd appreciate just a bit more. Thanks.

I will upload pics sometime tonight, but I need to get some sleep. 20 minutes since waking up yesterday just doesn't cut it.

And guess what I found out this morning...that meeting we had to be at last night ended up being for nothing. Turns out that based on our meeting place we are in a different unit. So now we have to meet with the new manager and go from there, but we our official and we have a troop #!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

CONGRATULATIONS!

I finally remembered to scan in my kids' school pictures. Matthew's are his senior pictures. We bought only 4 poses...those things are expensive!

We'll start with the "baby"...I wasn't thrilled with these, but I didn't want to bother with re-takes. They should have been in much tighter on the kids.

Here is Laura. The high school uses a local photographer instead of LifeTouch. Generally, I like him much better, though hers didn't come out great this year.

Matthew's Senior pictures. These are by the same photographer that the high school uses, but we went to the studio for a sitting. They came out pretty good, but it is awfully hard to justify the expense.

Good news all around at your house today, Robyn! Welcome to Baby Buzz!

Thank you! You really need to see them in real life. WOW!

I have been lucky enough to have seen them. I wish I could take my family to see them. The best I did was the Sierras in July 2007 with Bob on our trip in California. But your photos outdid any I took on that trip. :thumbsup2

I got my ornament exchange boxes shipped after lunch today. :yay:

It is pouring outside... not fun to run errands. :(

They came out very nice :thumbsup2

I am freezing today! My house is 68.7 which shouldn't feel this cold. I did just make a hot cup of tea, so maybe that will warm me up.

I'm usually freezing. It's nice to be able to keep the house at 72 and not have to worry about the oil bill. Your welcome to come and hang out here :goodvibes

I'd take you up on that if my kids weren't due home from school in about 40 minutes. :goodvibes

I'm sure that dh would tell me that I'd feel warmer if I were up moving about doing some housework. (He'd be right, but I'm tired and headachy as well as cold right now.)

I'm trying to get a few things done. I am so unmotivated. I have also gained a ton of weight so nothing fits. I can't seem to control my eating even though I'm conscious of it :sad2: It is so frustrating

I'm right there with you. I don't know what my problem is, but I've been like this for a while now. The doctor did a blood test, including thyroid function, when I was there this summer, so I'm sure that is all still fine. I am so out of control on my eating that it's embarrassing. I should have more self-control than that.

I hope we both get back on track soon!

I came across this on the Scrapbooking board.

You can get a free photo book through snapfish, but you need to redeem the coupon by tomorrow and have the book done by Sunday.

I think this is what I'll be doing tomorrow. First I have to decide what I want to do. I could make a book for my parents for Christmas. Or I could make a book of our family trip or our WDW trip from this summer. There are so many other possibilities.

That is exactly how I feel. It's not like I haven't been able to keep control before, so why is now so difficult?

I just used the link, now to decide what to put in the book
