I am about 30 minutes west of Austin. It is about a 5 hr drive to Arlington from here.

Is it that far? I thought my ExBosses used to make the drive to Austin in about 3 hours? Maybe ExDadboss just drives really fast! :rotfl2:

Bernadette - Where have you been? Is everything OK?

Hi guys!

I got lost in the move over to part 13.

Work has been crazy busy. I had a meeting one day last week from 1-7:30pm.:scared: Of course the meeting just means lots of more work for me and its kinda hard to do that while in meetings all day. Lots of more meetings and I'm sure changes to the budget this week. Last weeks marathon meeting cut millions out of the revenue budget so now this week we've got to find expenses to cut. I'm very hopeful we'll do it without job cuts.

I've still got til about Veteran's Day til the madness ends with the Board of Directors meeting to approve the budget.

This weekend I worked on my Mac. I got my new external hard drives installed, photos backed up onto new hard drives, system software updated and new photo software installed. Now I just need to work on breaking up my 24,000 photos into more manageable sizes. I have it all sorted in albums but all in 1 library on my Mac.

I also made most of Joe's Halloween costume yesterday. A martian. It is 4 pieces-pants, shirt, vest & hood. All in silver lamme (sp?)-stretchy-metalic-heavy-hard to work with fabric. It has roping details in royal blue & yellow. I did the pants first and after fighting with it and breaking 3 needles I decided not to do the roping on the cuffs for any other pieces. I just used the blue and yellow as trim. I finished all but the hood. Joe LOVES it! I showed my friends at work and they all thought it was cool. I just need to buy the lining for the hood so I can finish that. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

Here's the pattern (View A) but I didn't buy the globe to make the helmet as I could only find it online for about $35 with shipping. He's just going to wear a headband with antennas.

So I'm pretty sure my camera is dying. The flash no longer works. I'm thinking about upgrading to a dSLR but I can't find the camera and lenses I want from 1 retailer. I think I better hold off on making any decisions until things settle down a bit at work and I can about it some more.

Hope everyone is well!!!!!

Deb-your trip is coming up so fast! I'm sure you'll have a blast!!!!

Ack, I've got that drippy, sore throat feeling.

I CANNOT or WILL NOT GET SICK. I CANNOT or WILL NOT GET SICK. I CANNOT or WILL NOT GET SICK. I CANNOT or WILL NOT GET SICK.

Bernadette- Thanks for popping in. I love, love, love Joe's costume. I hope work settles down.

Chanon- Thanks so much for sharing your wedding with us. It looks like you had a fairytale beginning.:lovestruc

Bernadette - Where have you been? Is everything OK?

Hi! Just crazy busy at work so exhausted. And still having sinus issues. Now all the kids & DH have colds. I can hear poor Joe hacking away upstairs. Sounds a bit croupy. I don't miss those days. DH & I got flu shots today.

Bernadette- Thanks for popping in. I love, love, love Joe's costume. I hope work settles down.

Thanks. My feeling was more "I hate this thing, I hate this thing, what did I get myself into....." I'm liking it a bit more today. There are loops in the pant cuffs and the armholes of the vest for glow necklaces.

I need to make something easier next though.

No, no, no. There will be NO getting sick 2 days before your trip. I expressly forbid it.

Bernadette - Yikes! Good luck with the budget!
Joe will make an awesome martian! :thumbsup2
Sounds like you have really been putting a lot of effort into your Mac!
You know, we bought the Olympus at Sam's and then DH ordered the other lens from WalMart. The Sony lenses came from eBay, and the external flash is from Best Buy. Both cameras came with a starter lens - none of those "body only" deals for us! :scared: The remote for the Olympus came from some camera store like 40 miles from here. The Gorilla pod is from REI. The sling bag is from BestBuy.com so you can see we have no loyalty when it comes to cameras and accessories. The tripod, monopod, and other stuff I bought DH last week is from Sam's.

I have to go to the OB/GYN tomorrow. I suppose I should inquire about a flu shot so I don't have to go to my regular Dr. to get one.

Robyn....I forgot to add....I really can't complain too much about work. It just this time that is so crazy. AND.....the president annouced a few weeks ago that they are giving us BOTH the day after Christmas and day after New Years as EXTRA paid holidays. How cool is that? We probably will not make are targets to get a bonus next year so this was really nice.

Robyn-I also forgot to add....have you ever tried Emergen-C or something like that-a high dose vitamin C supplement?

Elizabeth-it isn't loyalty I'm worried about. I don't want the kit lens and I'm having a hard time finding the "body only". Ritz camera has it but they don't have the lenses I do want. The places that do have the lenses I do want don't have the camera as "body only" I assume because it is relatively new. I know I can order from different places but it would be easier to get them together. AND....I went to Best Buy and held the camera this weekend. It felt SOOOOOO heavy but I know part of that was the security device. I should go to Ritz so I can feel the camera without that thing. AND....part of me wonders if this is such a great idea. Maybe I should just order another high end point & shoot and wait a while on the dSLR.

I'm sorry that things have been so hectic at work. Hopefully life will settle down again soon. I love Joe's costume   That material is hard to work with, but the finished project is so worth it :thumbsup2

I have to vote Chris in as the DH of the day. He just helped me do my bikini wax :scared: The poor man kept saying that he thought it would be much more enjoyable for him :rotfl: Nope, not enjoyable for either of us :rotfl2:

I need to do my nails, but since I'm helping in art class on Friday I think I'll wait until after that. Last week we were working with clay. Clay would be very bad for my nails. Thursday night I'm getting my hair trimmed. I think I'll get my brow waxed then. I'm considering highlights, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the upkeep :confused3

Bernadette - Come to the dark side! Buy a dSLR! ;)
I say that, but DH's pics from today are certainly no ringing endorsement for dSLR ownership. Of course it was raining practically the whole time so he had to try to keep the camera dry. It was so gross outside that some of his outdoor pics actually look like he shot them in B&W, but they are color. :sad2:

Oh, and the funniest, Jake got kicked out of Turtle Talk. He kicked the lady in front of him and bit the guy next to him. He's 2!!

Be back later. Lucy is up from her nap.

I had a little girl start kicking me on the monorail. It was deliberate and continuous. Her mother was oblivious. I finally said, "Please stop kicking me; it is rude." Her mother was appalled! As well she should have been.

It is unimaginable to me to have a 2 year old kicked out of a WDW attraction. If his behavior is like that at your house I have only one thing to say...

You are a saint, Miss Robyn!!
