DDA Chapter 13

I think her explanation was a bit too graphic. Even if it didn't stress Nicholas out, I promise you there are kids that were stressed by it! Who wants to go to school knowing that some whack job with a gun could come in and mow down dozens of people? Too much info. Approach the teacher and just let her know it wasn't quite appropriate.

He's pretty cool. ;) We don't see him often because he lives in Germany. When the Uncles go to Europe he usually meets up with them somewhere.

Dawn and I DO have quite a bit in common! :rotfl2:

If DS was a girl I would vaccinate him. I told Mom to get the vaccine for Diva. The reason is this: HPV lesions provide a gateway into the bloodstream for HIV. The vaccine info doesn't say that, and the doctors won't tout it as a benefit, but it is true. They are billing it as a preventative measure for certain strains of cervical cancer, and it IS, but it is also a measure of protection against HIV. Obviously HIV infections happen in women without HPV, but I think women with HPV are more susceptible. Just something else to factor in.

We are headed to Chuck E. Cheese shortly. Of course this would have been a day to plan something outside since the rain is headed this way.

Marci - Monday might only be sort of rainy. It looks like 100% coverage of rain on Tuesday, which is when we are going to the Fair. Princess is going to think it rains every time we go somewhere with DH. I've been to the fair in the rain before and it wasn't fun, but that is the only day we can go so I guess we'll get rained on. :headache:

I wouldn't mind so if it rains Monday if I only had my kids, but add two more kids with ADHD to mine and well... I'd rather not have to muck along with ponchos I can't see well out of!

And I don't want an explanation because I can use Google very well, thank you very much, but I have no idea what a Diva Cup is either! OMG! Does this mean I am getting old?????

I'd love to see your reaction when you google it... I didn't know what it was until about six months ago. Because of the name, I wasn't quiet expecting what I found. The GF thread had mention of it.

Theresa, I was never one for the drama either, just couldn't be bothered. But the girls who were Drama, would come to me and wine/cry. Why they always came to me, I have no idea.

I didn't know either!
I will put the "Diva Cup" on my list of things to never google. It will be right up there with pin worm.

There are some things in life that I can live without knowing!;)

 :tilt: :crazy2: :faint: Don't look, Tom.

con flakes :rotfl:cracks me up

is it the Instead cup? I finally tried that recently.....highlights include me not being able to get it out and having to get Bill involved.....eeewww....thankfully NOTHING phases this man :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know this is way TMI, but I have something similar to the Diva Cup and I love it. I'm more granola than mainstream, but more like corn flakes. Or maybe just flaky. :rotfl:

He is a saint, Kristine!

Question... do I have to cancel my current reservations before the WDW system will allow me to make new ones??

my definition would include:

flower child....liberal....organic....environmentally aware...don't immunize your kids...don't circumcise your sons...wear Birkenstocks

[/b]
Thanks. At least now I know I'm definitely NOT granola. :rotfl2:

I have never heard that term before, other than when referring to cereal.

I wasn't going to ask either! When something carries TMI in front of it, it's probably something I don't want to know about! :rotfl:

I haven't googled this yet but seeing the above phrase, I can only imagine! :lmao:

I wouldn't think so, but you never know with their computer system. And where are you making the new reservations?

I didn't know there was such a cup, but I can guess what it is and what it does without a Google search. :scared:
Have I said how very much I love my Depo Provera injections? I haven't had a monthly visitor in more than 10 years. I never thought about it from an environmental standpoint before, but I am keeping all sorts of nastiness out of the landfills! :rotfl2:

We are home from Chuck E. Cheese. I need to go wrangle Princess into bed for her nap.

I am the antithesis of granola. I could never use cloth diapers, even if I could afford a service. :rotfl:

Sooo...

My blueberry muffins were a hit despite their color.

I still don't have much of a voice. Alyssa has declared it "Mommy's ugly voice."

Matthew has pink eye and the start of an ear infection.

I had to cancel Noah's 3-month portraits today, so we could take Matty to the doctor.

Last night, Kevin and Matty had Alyssa giggling so hard that she threw up on the couch. :scared:

Matty added to the never-ending laundry situation by peeing on the lion bath mat before last night's bath.

Alyssa has decided that the male anatomy is termed "hot dog pee pee."

My neighbors might have contemplated calling child service's after Matthew's reaction to his eye drops.

I've lost five more pounds, but I really have the urge to binge today. Luckily, I have no Golden Oreos in the house.

Noah fell asleep after we filled Matthew's prescription and he's been sound asleep in his car seat for 2 1/2 hours now. He didn't even stir for Matty's screaming eye drop fit.

It's a gorgeous day, and it looks like a lovely weekend, too. :sunny:

Alyssa plays her last soccer game tomorrow, and we're having a picnic afterward. I'm in charge of the cake and cupcakes. Both are in the freezer...must frost tonight.

Gas is $3.06/gallon today!

I hope you all have a great weekend! TGIF! :wave2:

You forgot socks with the birkenstocks and my all time favorite...Not shaving legs or arm pits :scared:

I think you should be able to hold 2 reservations, at least for a short time.

  For the gas prices. We are still in the $3.40s here.  For everything else in your crazy world. I promise that someday things will settle down, at least a bit.

Have you tried putting Noah to bed in his car seat at night? ;)

Yes!

Perhaps I should try driving around with him first. ;)

Thanks for the  I hope you start feeling better soon!

Amy - DS had more cases of pinkeye and other eye infections than any child I have ever seen. Drops are sucky. You have my sympathy!
I had a charge that would sleep for HOURS in the carseat, but he hated to sleep anywhere else. So I let him nap in the carseat.
Eewwww on the couch. I hope your couch is leather. :rolleyes1
I saw gas today for $3.25 a gallon. It is coming down!
I found your 5 pounds in case you want them back.

Have you tried putting the baby in the carseat and setting the carseat on the running dryer :rolleyes1 It is supposed to give movement like the car does. Nick was my bad sleeper. Eventually he learned to love his swing and we invested in a battery operated one versus the wind up one that we had. As long as he was swinging he was happy :thumbsup2

One of my friends had mentioned that she thought swings put babies into a sort of "twilighty" sleep where it is really hard for them to wake up. One of my charges was in the hospital for RSV when he was about 6 months old. They sent him home on a pulse/ox monitor. Every time we put him in the swing his oxygen levels would drop so we would have to take him out. Not sure if that would happen in a healthy baby or not, but it was kind of freaky. I know several babies who were HORRIBLE sleepers but they would all sleep in the swing.

The conversation around here has been quite interesting. I am so glad I am not Tom!!:goodvibes

I think I have crunchy tendencies but can't go full out crunchy. We buy some organic foods, try very hard to eliminate the high fructose corn syrup and are switching little by little to more natural foods. But my kids are vaccinated according their Pediatricians schedule and recommendations and I don't homeschool (I think I'd do harm to kids).

Gas was $2.93/gallon today!!! That was at Costco though. The lowest I have seen it was $3.04.

I packed a ton into today, my last regular day before the boys come back.:sad1: But it shouldn't be too bad as Emma and I leave Thursday for Dallas. :yay: :yay: So it'll be a short week. I also don't think our bank account could handle me being able to run all day/everyday! Eric is afraid he's broke and he's probably close to it!

After dropping Emma off at school this morning we came back and put Lucy down for a nap. Mo and I then went to Gail's to help her with a few things on the computer. Came home and the 3 of played for a bit before lunch. Then Lucy and I dropped Mo off at school at noon. From there we drove to the "big mall" where we shopped at Children's Place, Stride Rite Outlet(the reason we went there, Lucy needed new shoes) and the Disney Store. They had a bunch of stuff on sale and then an additional 40% off. From there we left, filled up the van and hit the library, it's right next to Mo's school and we had a half hour to waste. Picked Mo up and then I got my hair cut and then we stopped at CVS before picking Emma up.

My mom called me and told me that my Uncle Buck was being taken to the hospital with pnuemonia. He's been in the same nursing home as my grandmother for the past few months. He is 96 years old (his wife was my Aunt Elsie that died back in Feb) and I don't think he'll be coming out. :sad1:

Robyn - Boo for the boys coming back. (Well, you know what I mean.) Yay for Dallas next week! So is Eric going to build a sukkah this weekend? ;) Brother always really wanted one.

The men brought back the furniture for the playroom. There is a BIG gap between the seat cushions and the cushions across the back of the couch. Not sure if Momboss is going to be OK with that or not. The fabric is nice.

In Eric's words "Umm, no! We don't have room for one." I have to tell you that Emma really, really wanted to fast this holiday. Eric told me to let her try it. He always fasts but I never do. Well we ate dinner on Wednesday night and she was fine with skipping dessert/snack before bed. She woke up yesterday morning and came downstairs. She sat on the couch, looked at me and asked "how much longer til I can eat?!?!" Needless to say, she will be trying again next year.

Yikes on the couch!

Definitely not looking forward to Monday morning. I imagine it will take me weeks to undo the craziness.
