DDA Chapter 12

Robyn - I am glad the school finally got back to you! I hope Emma doesn't have any more issues with the sub!
I DID pay my $10 to join the PTA, and I sent a check in for "athletic association" (whatever THAT is). I will obviously donate to Race for the Cure and I will try to do the corporate matching on that one. I *think* it excludes entry fees from matching, though, so that will have to be their problem to sort out. My zoo membership expires in December. I want to renew it, but we'll have to see. We upgraded to a higher level last year so we may bump back down to the lower one.

Stephanie - Yay for packing!

We did the PTA too and we do Market Day which ends up being a little each month. But between Girl Scout Cookies, Mo's school and Emma's school it's just too much.

thansk for the good thoughts--everything with joes girlfriend was pretty good news!

:cool1:

How blond can I be? To print both sides of the paper you run one side through the printer, then the other side. Duh.:headache:

:rotfl2: I must be even blonder because I had no clue what you were talking about.

I'm up for anything after 12:30 or so.

That sounds like it is right around the corner from my office. :)

Okay -- I'm off to a good start. I filled three bags full of old food and clutter. Now if I can do that every day and then most of the weekend, I might make some headway in this clutter-filled house...

I am so excited that we'll get to meet up Marci!! on the de-cluttering. I have to make my way to the playroom sometime tomorrow and do the same.

I'm glad that this has been handled. You and I know that she is now just trying to appease Emma, but in Emma's eyes it's different. I hope.

Oh, I get that. Emma is quite excited to be the helper but heaven help that woman if she messes with Emma on Friday. With me being gone the classroom will flood with tears if she gets Emma upset.

Our school fundraiser is going on as we speak. Sally Foster.....wrapping paper and so forth, plus some other thing with candy, cookie dough and pizzas. This year I'm not buying anything. :( I just get tired of them ALWAYS having a hand out wanting something.

That's the same crap!

No jitters but the crap hit the fan tonight. I told Bob's parents the wrong amount on the liquor cost. Given that Mom is helping out (alot) with the wedding cost, that didn't go over well. It ended up being something along the lines of I thought we talked about it and I said "you must have forgot". That put her over the edge - wrong words to say...should have been "let's fix it"...but that escalated into "why doesn't your father help out with money" and "i don't feel wanted" and "I'm leaving, you don't need me here" and of course the ever famous "what will they think". I hate the "what will they think" because "they" don't even know about this converation. :headache:

Things are fine now. We are watching Bones together. Well, on opposite sides of the couch. But that's better than yelling at each other trying to find out why she's really mad. (She doesn't feel wanted. I've suggested everything you guys have mentioned and more.) I'm really trying and I know I'm her "baby". I'm trying. Three days.

Hang in there. It will get better and it won't even be important come Saturday.

I need a vacation. Can I stow away with either Stephanie or Deb? Pretty please? I have 2 men in my life giving me grief, plus day to day crap. This weekend is not going to be relaxing at all. Three bday parties! One Sat and Sun. for Alyssa, one Sun. for Nicholas. Plus a football game in there on Saturday. Friday night we will go shopping for gifts. I have to bring drinks for the game on Saturday so I'll also have to pick up bunches of Gatorade. I wanted to get the kids' hair cut and go to the pumpkin patch, but that might not happen.

Wanna come to Dallas :teeth:

I imagine 2 men would be enough to push me over the edge. The 1 I have is skating on thin ice tonight.'s

Chanon, your wedding gift is on its way!!! Congratulations!!!

Our school fundraiser is going on as we speak. Sally Foster.....wrapping paper and so forth, plus some other thing with candy, cookie dough and pizzas. This year I'm not buying anything. :( I just get tired of them ALWAYS having a hand out wanting something.

Sally Foster is nice paper, for people who wrap things in paper. I am all about gift bags myself. :rolleyes1
We bought a vat of cookie dough from one of my friend's kids one year and stored it as directed in the fridge. When we went to use it there was mold growing in the dough. Talk about a waste of money! :sad2:
So far DS hasn't brought home anything to sell, but I am sure he will!

Yay for de-cluttering!

I managed to put all of DS's outgrown shoes into a shopping bag today. That's as far as I got with de-cluttering. I did stand in his closet for a bit and survey the clutter. We have SO MUCH STUFF to get rid of! :headache: We still have cool mist and steam vaporizers that haven't been out of the boxes since DS was in preschool. We have toys, the aforementioned outgrown shoes, no telling what all else. I need a U Haul to get it all out of here.
Good luck with yours, Marci! :wizard:

Chanon, aren't moms FUN? ;) I planned and paid for my entire wedding by myself - Mom just had to show up. Which worked pretty well for her since Diva was born March 30 and I got married November 7 of the same year.

I called my mom to check on her before she has chemo tomorrow. She was at the grocery but nothing sounded good. Her neighbors are "still there". I told her I didn't think they would simply DISAPPEAR. The 8th grader smokes. OK, call CPS. The kids are outside making noise all the time. OK, call the police. But if it is broad daylight don't expect the police to come running! She says Diva is having nightmares about those kids breaking into the apartment. That is probably a legitimate concern since they don't have an intrusion alarm, but what can you do? Mom insists that they are moving when the lease is up. OK. Whatever. :rolleyes1 Mom said another neighbor was out there yelling at the kids the other night so she isn't the only one they are bothering. I told her she needs to stay on the leasing office about things that are actual lease violations, and keep quiet about the petty stuff. But she won't. :rolleyes1

On a good note, I have my suitcase out. I'm taking my old one as my red Disney one, the wheels came off. This is an economy trip, so no new luggage for me. I do not think I'm going to take any pins to trade. :scared1: We are doing the DeluxeDDP, so my food budget is set. No matching t shirts. No postcards. No commando touring plans. Probably very few late nights. Definetly no park opening to fireworks days.  (will someone give Elizabeth mouth-to-mouth as you all know she's reading!) I figure I'll take my ears and then leave them in my owners locker.

Okay Elizabeth, it's safe to read again.

I don't want to take my laptop. I'm hoping all I'll need is my IPhone. We really need to RELAX. We need to return refreshed. This is my friend's first vacation in 4 years. I don't want her to even be tempted by a computer where she could log in to work... I just need to remember my little AC adapter so I can plug my phone into the wall outlet. The only shoes I'm taking are Crocs.

I can do this. I can do this. Okay DDA, tell me I'll be okay!!!!!:thumbsup2

You can do this!!!! It is the exact thing that you need to do. You & your friend both could use the total relaxation. Chuck & I had a wonderful trip when we did that!

I need my bed. This financial crisis is really horrible for me at work. I just can't crystal ball this. And I am supposed to turn in a budget!!!:confused3 :confused3

I'm so sorry to hear this. pixiedust: to get a budget in place.

Aren't I the best! ;) :lmao:

So I have a wedding question for you guys! Our "guest book" is actually two framed matte's. We have guests that responded no to the reception but put on the response card "we'll see you at the wedding". Should I bring the framed matte's to the church to get some people to sign the mattes before the reception time? Or should I just wait and just have them do it at the reception? I do have someone to take them to the reception site after church...and I do have someone watching the framed matte table to have people sign it...
Suggestions?

I would bring to both. Around here the book is usually signed as guests go into the wedding. It is brought to the reception for those that missed it at the wedding

Our school fundraiser is going on as we speak. Sally Foster.....wrapping paper and so forth, plus some other thing with candy, cookie dough and pizzas. This year I'm not buying anything. :( I just get tired of them ALWAYS having a hand out wanting something.

All 3 of mine came home with the same fundraiser. We did not do it. I stopped doing them years ago. I'll send in a check for what my kids need, but I'm not fundraising.

There are still rooms left on our ship and some of the rooms conveniently room 3 persons. You and the kids would be most welcomed. My kids would love to hang out with other kids and we would love to have you

My work week is half over :cool1: This new kitchen staff is really making things chaotic. The leaf peepers have arrived and they are keeping a tight hold of their wallets. Tips are really sucking this year. This whole economic mess is certainly hurting our business. I hope things are resolved quickly or who knows where we will all be.

I'm off to play with car codes again

Apparently you cannot stack Corp ID codes. You can only use one corporate ID, but you can use coupons. I already used AAA code and a coupon so unless I find another coupon I don't think I can do any better :confused3

We have some Visa credit card reward points that we could get. Do you think we can use them at Vero Beach. I'm thinking yes since it is a Disney Resort, but I'm not 100% sure :confused3

Per Chase we can use our rewards card at Vero Beach. I've got $75 on that so we can have at least one meal there :rotfl:

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! (And Anne Marie - add one more cry when she read the wedding program.)

I have her doing laundry tomorrow; making sure the place cards are in alpha order, and she'll be making dinner tomorrow.

OK, I'm off to bed!

Do you have any ironing/mending to be done? :lmao: That is what my mom always does for me when she comes. It is the way she knows she is needed because I don't do either.

This financial crisis is really horrible for me at work. I just can't crystal ball this. And I am supposed to turn in a budget!!!:confused3 :confused3
If you find a crystal ball can I borrow it? I'm in budget meetings with the VP of Marketing this week (I'm the financial analyst for his group). Then we'll have a round with the VP of Finance maybe next week then with the President the last week of October. Projecting revenues should be real fun.:scared:

I was in meetings all afternoon today (and half the morning too) and when I got out at 5:30 I couldn't get my computer unlocked and all of IS would have been gone. I have a meeting at 11am tomorrow that I am NOT ready for but I'm afraid if I go in early I won't be able to find anyone to fix my computer.:headache:

without going into endless details....I have another non-viable pregnancy (which I knew before the trip) that isn't resolving itself as it was supposed to. instead my levels have gone up...not up enough to make it viable...but enough to cause hysteria of the medical profession....in turn making Bill absolutely crazy....he keeps hovering on me making me promise I won't die :sad2:...all around crappy situation.

like I said...it's time to come home

Kristine, I'm so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself. Prayers & pixiedust: as you deal with this.

We did the PTA too and we do Market Day which ends up being a little each month. But between Girl Scout Cookies, Mo's school and Emma's school it's just too much.
How do you like the Market Day stuff? What do you get? I've never gotten anything. It seems too expensive, IMO.

There are still rooms left on our ship and some of the rooms conveniently room 3 persons. You and the kids would be most welcomed. My kids would love to hang out with other kids and we would love to have you
Believe me, we would love to, but first there is the $ issue and then there is school. We don't have a fall break, and I'm taking them out for a week in December. But going on a trip with just the 3 of us sounds wonderful at this point.

We have some Visa credit card reward points that we could get. Do you think we can use them at Vero Beach. I'm thinking yes since it is a Disney Resort, but I'm not 100% sure :confused3
I would guess you could, but I'm not 100% either.
