DDA Chapter 12

On a good note, I have my suitcase out. I'm taking my old one as my red Disney one, the wheels came off. This is an economy trip, so no new luggage for me. I do not think I'm going to take any pins to trade. :scared1: We are doing the DeluxeDDP, so my food budget is set. No matching t shirts. No postcards. No commando touring plans. Probably very few late nights. Definetly no park opening to fireworks days.  (will someone give Elizabeth mouth-to-mouth as you all know she's reading!) I figure I'll take my ears and then leave them in my owners locker.

Okay Elizabeth, it's safe to read again.

I don't want to take my laptop. I'm hoping all I'll need is my IPhone. We really need to RELAX. We need to return refreshed. This is my friend's first vacation in 4 years. I don't want her to even be tempted by a computer where she could log in to work... I just need to remember my little AC adapter so I can plug my phone into the wall outlet. The only shoes I'm taking are Crocs.

I can do this. I can do this. Okay DDA, tell me I'll be okay!!!!!:thumbsup2

One of the wheels came off my large red Disney luggage as well. I was really bummed!

I think your touring plan sounds great. Relax & enjoy yourselves!

Good Morning DDA!:goodvibes

'Gotta love these cool crisp FALL mornings! My favorite time of the year!

It should be mine, too, if our weather would cooperate! Rumor has it there's a cold front coming through today, which may make it feel like Fall. Go figure! :thumbsup2

Our county is closed. We wouldn't have kept her out if it was open though. I know when Eric and I were in school it was open for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Back then the teachers were not allowed to give tests of any kind but they did and Eric always had to skip them and then make them up, which is ridiculous. Nowadays they couldn't get away with that.

That's cool! I wonder if it depends on the % of Jewish population, etc. I know the schools around here aren't closed (which I just confirmed watching the school buses go by this morning), and they never were when I was in school, but people could of course take the day off if they were observing any religious holidays.

Our cold front has come through. It is chilly this morning, highs of 60's this week.

Love the new signature!(I knew I was forgetting something yesterday)

Thanks everyone, for the comments on the signature. What you see is about 90% (at least!) of any decent shots we got for their 3-month portraits. And I'm not picky, or just looking for smiles..... we got NOTHING. :rotfl:

We're going to Freeport, Nassau and Norwegian's private Island. Castaway Cay sounds much nicer. I would love it if you give could give me any pointers on Nassau when you return. I think you're back before we go. We are definitely excited.
This is all we are doing on Nassau -http://www.windsorequestriancentre.com - since it's across the island, that'll be our tour.
Chanon I'd be interested to hear how the mosquitos and other biting bugs are while you are there. I'm debating whether or not to take insect repellent. I'm also debating taking beach towels.
We are bringing our beach towels, but haven't thought about insect repellent.

Oh my goodness Chanon, only 4 more sleeps till your big day! :dance3:

Oh that sounds PERFECT! I miss my hoodies and jeans! :cloud9:

I got Glynis' permission to post this:

Glynis and her family can use all the spare pixie dust and prayers we have. Her mom's spells have been diagnosed through an angiogram this morning. It is not good. She has been sent home to live her last few months out. The valve they thought was failing is actually calcified, along with most of the other valves and arteries in her heart.

Glynis -- sending you and your entire family lots of prayers for strength. We're here for you 24/7 if you need us.

Beth, you got excellent advice from Elizabeth. Good luck! :wizard: :wizard:

Beth -- good luck today!

Tom the dress and Leighanna are divine.

Jen, love your new siggie.

Channon, very close now....:goodvibes

I need my bed. This financial crisis is really horrible for me at work. I just can't crystal ball this. And I am supposed to turn in a budget!!!:confused3 :confused3

Elizabeth.... cover your eyes!!!!

Your plan sounds like a good one. Don't forget the adapter, relax and have a terrific time.

They say our cool front came through, but it's 71 now. I need some really COLD weather to kill some of the ragweed and fungus... Jake and I are both suffering right now.

Denise -- sending lots of prayers to you and your family.

Theresa -- I'm glad you had a great time with Glynis and her family.

Elizabeth -- how is your Mom?

Jen -- I'm glad you guys had a great trip. Sorry that the girls were sick.

Jennifer -- cute pics in your sig.

Deb -- we had no problems with bugs in Nassau or on Castaway Cay. I don't take beach towels. I'd rather use the towels from the boat and give them back to them instead of them laying in a wet/sandy pile in my room or me having to wash them. I know some people do take them, though.

I'm bringing in a nurse to give flu shots to my employees today, we have my nephew's football game tonight, and I need to rent the instrument for Andrew's next specials rotation after I pick the boys up from school.

I may have found some breakfast room chairs on Craig's list, so keep your fingers crossed!

I forgot to mention - Bob and I plan on taking our laptop, at first just to upload photos on a daily basis and not loose any of our photos. BUT! Hard Rock has free WIFI in their public areas! :thumbsup2 (another reason to visit Universal for the non-DVC'ers) ...so we might be checking between the 9th and the 12th...

Glynis, I am so sorry to hear this! You and your family are in my thoughts! :wizard: Good wishes for your mom!
Welcome Home Jennifer

Has anyone seen the Speed Racer movie? Emma wanted me to watch it with her tonight. After 5 minutes I was literally  . It's all green screened and I couldn't keep watching it. I felt so bad, she really wanted me to watch it with her. She got to stay up late tonight since school is closed tomorrow.

I am boycotting it in protest. :snooty: Originals only, please!

After you get through the withdrawals of not doing any of that stuff, ;) you'll definitely be okay. ;)

Stephanie, not bringing pins would kill me. The rest sounds OK.;) DxDDP will stomp you on value, but for convenience it is great! :thumbsup2 Maybe one of these trips I will skip the pins and not go blasting through the parks at the crack of dawn every day. Maybe. :rolleyes1

Most of the Jewish kids around here go to the private Jewish schools. The few in public school will just stay home. I think the only district that closed for Jewish holidays when I was little was in Massachusetts.

I hope it's not chilly outside because I think I am too fat to wear any of my pants.

Only 14 pictures in you Picasa from the 3 month portraits?! (Photo 118 of September just melts my heart! )

That's all we got! I didn't throw any out! I'm telling you, she took about 17 shots and kept even fewer, most of which weren't great. Pitiful, no?! The timing was awful. It should have been ideal, but a series of events led to the girls being hungry, tired and cranky! We have family pictures scheduled soon though, so we'll try again! And Avery tends to have that affect on me, too. Well both girls do, but for different reasons -- and poor Elise's aren't usually captured on film because she's off to something else in an instant! :rotfl:

ETA: You are always SO fast... do you have an RSS subscription or something to our pictures, or are you just that good?! ;) I came to update my signature and you had already commented. Between you and Elin, I can't even keep up! :rotfl:

You would melt in jeans unless you are really cold-natured.... this cold front they are talking about seems to have not done much IMO...

Nope, I don't have you on RSS, (though I didn't know you had one and I'm now off to go add you to my goodle reader), I just look forward to pictures of the girls. Like I said before, they brighten my day! (Especially today since it's raining here in Cleveland until Friday!)

Um.... I'm not positive, but I think you can do that with Picasa. You definitely can add the blog to google reader, but I've never done just the photo albums.

(Isn't google reader great? I'd miss so much without it!)

I must say though, you have impeccable timing! I literally JUST uploaded those pictures to September's album!

Good morning, DDA!!!

I didn't do much catching up, but caught a few things.

Denise - Your family will be in my prayers this week. Lots of :grouphug: to you all.

Glynis - Many prayers of peace for your mom and your family. :grouphug:

Theresa - Sounds like you had a really great trip! I'm so happy it worked out for you to go.

ETA - You don't have and RSS link on your page...or can I not find it?

ETA again - I can just add your website. That worked!

On Picasa, view the page that has "Covers" of all the public albums. In the bottom right, is a tiny blue link that just says "RSS". No icon, or picture or sentence or anything -- just those letters. When you click, it does take you to a page that lets you put it right into Reader! (How cool! I need to add a few pages I know of! :rotfl:)

On the blog, scroll all the way to the bottom and it says Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). It says Atom instead of RSS, but clicking on it will do the same thing - allow you to stick it right into Reader.
