DDA Chapter 12

Beth, it goes like this:
"You know, now that I have had some time to consider your proposal, I have decided that I am not really interested in taking on the class at this time. Thank you anyway."
I think you would be crazy to take on a class under those circumstances. You don't even really WANT the class! The fact that they think any warm body is fine as long as you have "help" is really a slap in the face. What are you supposed to do when that girl has her baby? Just finish out the year BY YOURSELF? And what is stopping her from getting 2 or 3 weeks into it and saying "Gosh, this just isn't what I thought it would be. I'm not going to be able to do this after all." I can not imagine trying to co-teach a class that Princess was in, and that isn't even really the same situation.

Robyn - I thought you were going to say macaroni & cheese! But I like mashed potatoes better! ;)
Beth, you got excellent advice from Elizabeth. Good luck! :wizard: :wizard:

I got Glynis' permission to post this:

Glynis and her family can use all the spare pixie dust and prayers we have. Her mom's spells have been diagnosed through an angiogram this morning. It is not good. She has been sent home to live her last few months out. The valve they thought was failing is actually calcified, along with most of the other valves and arteries in her heart.
Oh, no. I hope she can make it to hold little Peanut in her arms. Glynis, I am so sorry to hear this. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

after 8 1/2 days without power we have it back. thanks to Ike we lost power last Saturday morning. our house didn't get damaged thank god but our street looked like a tornado went through it. some neighbors lost trees, cars, had trees in their houses or have to move out to get house fixed. watty did well except mow he is sick with something.

Karen, glad to hear you all our okay. glad your power is back. Hope whatever Watson has is something small and can be taken care of soon .

Has anyone seen the Speed Racer movie? Emma wanted me to watch it with her tonight. After 5 minutes I was literally  . It's all green screened and I couldn't keep watching it. I felt so bad, she really wanted me to watch it with her. She got to stay up late tonight since school is closed tomorrow.

Sorry to all for the bombardment of flair on facebook. :rolleyes1 I just think they are great.
I am new at Facebook & don't even know how to get the little gifts people sent me..yes I am a spaz.

Tom,
She is just beautiful!

Beth,
I like what Elizabeth said. Sounds like a good idea to me. Good luck.

Thanks so much, Jen and Theresa! I think I have it in me to call her tomorrow and tell her Elizabeth's line. It helps to have all of you supporting me! I'll just pretend that you are right there with me.

And I really need to think about what else I can do to make money.

I think that Elizabeth's line is great. If they ask why and you don't want to share with them, use the "I talked it over with my husband and we decided ..."

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother Denise. Prayers & pixiedust: as you deal with this.

So sorry to hear about your mother Glynis. Prayers & pixiedust: to help you get through this. Don't forget to take care of yourself and that little Peanut in the process.

Happy 13th Birthday Nick.

Beth I agree with Elizabeth's advice as well, good luck to you :wizard:

Welcome back Jennifer, hope you had a wonderful time!

Robyn glad butter was served tonight without problems :rotfl:

Theresa hope to see pictures soon!

Lucy is so adorable!

Today is our 24th anniversary. I also have a nephew who is 24 today. I was running late and didn't have time to stop on the way home for a card. DH hasn't given me one either so I wonder if he forgot?

I could make one on my computer....guess I ought to try that.....
Belated Happy Anniversary

Glynis & Theresa, I'm so happy to hear you guys had such a great time this week-end.

Glynis my heart goes out to you & your family. Prayers & :wizard: for your mother

Oh no. I hope they have plenty of children's motrin and that it helps   :wizard: :wizard:
we had both tyenol and motrin. I kept giving her one or the other every 3hrs for amost 3 days then the cough and runny nose started. we still have those. When Olivias fever went away Virginia got it. she also has the cough and runny nose.

Happy Birthday, Katrina! :dance3:

Hope it was a great day for her

I know I can count on you guys so can you all spare some good thoughts and pixie dust for my sister. She went to the dr.s yesterday and her amniotic fluid is high and her white blood count is low. They are concerned because it can be a sign of infection mainly the CMV virus or a sign of diabetes, she passed her glucose screening so I imagine it's not that. She is going for blood work today but I imagine it may be a few days before she finds out anything. When she was pregnant with her first DD, who was stillborn) she had the CMV virus but it went undetected until they did the autopsy on my niece. I appreciate it.

Robyn, prayers and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for your sister!

Deb - we are going to Nassau and Castaway Cay. Nothing as exciting as yours!

We're going to Freeport, Nassau and Norwegian's private Island. Castaway Cay sounds much nicer. I would love it if you give could give me any pointers on Nassau when you return. I think you're back before we go. We are definitely excited.

HELP! I need someone to tell me how to handle this. I also need to grow a pair...

Remember I told you that I asked for more money to handle that one class on my own? Well, the director calls tonight to tell me that instead of giving me more money, they have decided to have one of the mothers in the class help me. That way, I supposedly won't be doing more work. I think I still will, because 1) she doesn't know anything about the program, 2) she'll have a 2-year old of her own with her, and 3) she's having another baby in February. Can I say at this point that I just don't even want to do the class? I kind of left it sounding like I would do the class, but the more I think about it the more upset I become. It is just so disrespectful that they asked this person to do it without even asking me first. But I don't want to make this person feel like I don't want to work with her, and I don't want to shirk my responsibilities. Do I just suck it up until the end of May and then tell them I won't be back next year? But I do need to work, and I don't know where else to even look. I just don't know what to do.

Sorry to vent and whine, but if anyone has any suggestions for me, I'd gladly take them.

There is no way that I would take the job, period. I remember your posts from last year and this year will certainly be worse. :wizard:  You can do it, we know you can :thumbsup2 You can always explain that you had already budgeted your free time and made other commits, volunteering or whatever and while you were considering the opportunity you've decided that you are going to stick with your original schedule

That is the worst news that could have come. Glynis and her family are in our prayers  I hope that she has much longer than they are predicting.
