Hi Jennifer. It sounds like you guys are getting pelted now. Stay safe. Sending lots of prayers to Karen and her family and Lindsay's family. :grouphug:

We are far enough up in Texas that the feeder rings are just now getting to us. They originally predicted 6 - 10 inches of rain, with up to 70 mph winds, but they think Ike may turn a little more to the east of us and it may really be more like 4--6 inches and 50 mph winds. We're east of Dallas so we may get hit with a little more wind and rain. We've moved everything to the garage that was outside, and are just sitting here watching the news waiting. Jake is a little freaked out about it but I think we'll be just fine. We're really seeing the trees "dance." I have huge old oak trees so I'm worried about that and the roof. Other than that, we shouldn't have much damage. (fingers crossed)
all we have right now is clouds here in the Austin area. with a little wind.

we are west of Austin

Kristine-those pics bring back some bad memories (I lived through the great flood in Cheyenne) Please stay safe!!

Marci - DS is a little worried, even though we told him we aren't going to get any really bad weather. Hopefully it won't be bad for you guys! :wizard:

Jennifer - It sounds like you guys are far enough away that it won't be too bad.

Kristine - Yikes! Hang in there!

it seems a little unsubstantial this weekend:

A reminder that I am "pulling" names on Monday for the 3rd annual ornament exchange.

What I need from you is:

Disney likes:
anything that you don't want in the box

Do you think I'm too emotionally invested in football?! :confused3 :rotfl:

maybe!

checking in to see how everyone is dealing with the various weather situations...

we are under major flood warnings....we have already gotten 5 inches in a very short time....it was a stressful night to say the least...

it's just crazy right now...and Bill is running around espousing about "major destruction, were doomed, oh my God" etc.... I may ground up some Valium in his cereal

:grouphug: for all of you. the Valium might help! ;)

Stay safe.

And just think you should have some beautiful grandbabies to brag about!!

 I had not even thought about that... and I am pretty sure neither of my daughters have thought seriously about it yet, either!

Hmmmm. Although Kathrin's company has sent her and a co-worker to Las Vegas for the week... she texted me three times last night at 1:23 AM our time:

1. We are here. It is almost like Disney!
2. My room is HUGE. I am a PRINCESS.
3. Been here an hour and I am drunk already.

From a motherly point of view this may not be a good thing...

Things are going from bad to worse.....the water has rushed down the street like an ocean......the house 5 down is flooded out...we have begun to take water in the basement.....thankfully we are somewhat higher than the house 5 down....what a nightmare

oh, my. Be careful, you guys!

I hope things stay on that level for you all day, Marci. :grouphug:

The pictures don't do justice....

water came rushing down the street on the upper left...it looked like a raging river...

Can I just say that the new show imagination movers is worse then the doodlebops on the dumb scale

That is pretty bad! I know nothing about Imagination Movers but I have seen the Doodlebops because my nephew used to LOVE them.

Lets talk older TV shows. Which did you prefer - Addam's Family or The Munsters?

I liked the Addam's Family.

My maiden name is Adams. I grew up hearing the theme song all the time! Actually, though, I didn't mind, as I found them an intriguing family. Much more interesting than mine!

Did your children's schools have a moment of silence in honor of 9/11?

I was ASTOUNDED that the middle school did not! All the district schools have been doing this since the first anniversary....

Our elementary school did a special flag raising ceremony. The police chief came and spoke to the children, and they had a moment of silence.

Kristine - my whole family is on pins and needles for you.
