DDA Chapter 12

Instead we went to the Jungle book. We entered the normal line wheelchair and all. We got to a point the wheelchair would not fit. I got up and walked with crutches. Stephen carried the wheelchair through the turnstyle. Opps! We made the mistake of not consulting the handicap guide. There was no one at the entrance of the the regular line to tell us where to go. We should have entered through the exit. They CM's were very understanding, they took the wheelchair to the exit. We got on the boat.

This was very similar to WDW's Jungle Cruise. There were some differences, I will not share for those of you who have not experienced it. It seemed longer to me. I enjoyed this attraction.

DSC06024.jpg

We then headed to Indiana Jone's Adventure. We made sure to consult the HC guide. It said to go through the exit, so we did. This exit was pretty long. I know we missed most of the fun stuff in the line.

So you go to nearby where the track is. I thought you would load from the opposite side of the track, instead they have an elevator. You get in the elevator go up then go across over top of the track, then you get in another elevator to take you back down to the loading level. The system works well except when there are a large number of people needing this. You must repeat this in reverse when you leave the attraction.

I really enjoyed this attraction. I wish they would add something similar to this at WDW. It bounced around some, I was afraid it might be an issue with my foot it was not. The issue I had was I was sitting with this wheel at my knees I kept bumping into it.
DSC06036.jpg

Tarzan's Treehouse- I did not experience this. Too many steps, plus there were other things I wanted to do
DSC06040.jpg

We then headed to Pirates of the Caribbean. I loved this ride even more then the one at WDW.
DSC06041.jpg

DSC06042.jpg

DSC06043.jpg

So in order to enter this ride in a wheelchair, you have to enter to the left of the Blue Bayou. This is not anywhere near the entrance, it is not well marked as being Pirate's exit. . We actually tried to enter into a closet.:headache: Which is directly to the left of the Blue Bayou. This is my one complaint there were not always cast members at the normal entrance to direct us, the instructions in the pamphlet were not always the best, and the signs were not that great.
DSC06045.jpg

One of these days I will eat at the Blue Bayou
DSC06046.jpg

Wheelchair users load from the opposite side everyone else does. I also should point out as a wheelchair user your party can total 6, including the person in a wheelchair to use the wheelchair entrance. We had exactly 6 people.

The one thing that made no sense is some rides made me take the crutches with others did not.

We split up at this point Stephen and I rode the Haunted Mansion, the rest found lunch. I was warned that this ride was bad for those with walking issues due to the moving walkway. I had no issues with the moving walkway. However it still caused issues.

First of all you leave your wheelchair outside and have to walk inside to the stretching room, you have to stand in the stretching room, from here you have to walk through the hall of statues, then you have to get in the que, then you have the moving walkway. It is a lot of walking for someone who can not walk much. They warn you that you have to walk so many yards. None of this was really the issue. The real issue was at the end of the ride. You get onto the moving walkway alongside the ride, this was still not an issue. The big issue, the normally moving ramp walkway was broken down. It is bouncy and at a pretty good angle. I made it up but it hurt. I rode this the next day it was still broken down. Not sure when or if they plan on fixing it. I was glad I had my crutches on this ride. You then had to walk back outside to claim your wheelchair.

Elin, you could make these quite easily.

I was also thinking you could use small photo frames and do close ups of textures - elephant skin, giraffe color, tiger - and put them inside. You can use alot of ideas from the Lion King too - the drawings on the tree, feathers that look like Zazu's tail, bugs...

Jennifer texted me today. They made it to Disney and the MK was PACKED. And last I knew, they still did not have their luggage from ME at 12:30am. There was a guy there that hadn't seen his luggage since yesterday (more than 36 hours).

(Tia - get your own luggage from the plane if you haven't left yet!!!)

I'll catch up more tomorrow! Time for bed for me.

Happy Birthday Robyn

Thank you all for a the wonderful birthday wishes!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

It was a long day but a good one. Emma's birthday present to me was a 1am wake up call. She had gotten up to go to the bathroom and then threw up all over herself. She was a hysterical mess, mainly because she felt so bad that she wasn't able to throw up into the toilet! I have her trained well. I cleaned her up and laid with her for a bit while Eric cleaned up the bathroom. Poor guy gets all the dirty jobs. Thankfully Emma has been fine since then. She had no fever or repeats so I have no idea what caused it.

After that I spent a lovely 2 hours at the MVA in order to renew my driver's license. Why did I wait to the last minute you ask? Because I couldn't find the stinking mail order renewal that I had completed but apparently never mailed out. It was crumbled up at the bottom of my purse, by the time I found it it was too late to mail it in. But the time was well spent listening to my Ipod and I was alone for a bit! I decided when I was done to pick up a few things at Walmart before I headed back home to pick up the troops. We then turned around and made our way to Chuck E. Cheeses for my cousin's DD's birthday party. And MVA and Chuck E. Cheeses are literally right next to each other so talk about wasted gas!!! Eric and Lucy headed home from the party and my mom, Emma, Mo and I hit a few stores looking for Mo's ballet shoes and a few other things. We came back to my house and my dad and sister came over as well and we all had dinner and cake together. After everyone left the girls and I had a slumber party in my room to end my birthday.

Amy- I so feel your pain. :goodvibes Molly did that one day and it was horrendous. There was poop everywhere- walls, bed, carpet, clothes, toys and the worst spot ever to clean the underside of her door. She tried to get out I suppose but couldn't open her door. I hope and pray that this was a one time thing with Matty. We ended up duct taping Mo's diaper to her. She could get through masking tape in no time flat!

Becky- I am enjoying your trip report, thanks for posting!

Theresa- Sounds like you and Abi had a nice time together.

Debbie- Hi there. It was good to see you pop in. Brandon must be a cutie in all his football gear.

Elin and Jen- Yay for new hair do's!!

Elin- I love the themed Christmas trees, what a wonderful idea. :goodvibes

Marci- Sorry about the boy's games. I hope the last one went better.

Tammi- I hope you all are enjoying your visit with your parents.

Deb- Thanks for posting pics of the boys in their costumes. They all look great!!

Elizabeth- Yum, Macaroni Grill! I am glad your mom seems to be doing ok.

I am sorry if I missed anyone.'s and :wizard:

Time to scoot. Gotta get ready for church. Have a great day.

Thanks Chanon! Oddly enough I said to Kristin that you could easily make the animal skin ornaments with glitter glue! She said they would look "homemade" and I tended to agree with her until right now. I bet there is a stencil out there (or one could be made) that would allow you to put the glitter on there fairly easily. I will have to look around at ACMoore and Michaels.

I am very glad we decided to not do ME if they are still having some issues with luggage delivery!

Becky - I am enjoying all your pictures from Disneyland. I think it will be a while before I am back there. :(

Robyn - I am glad you had a good day on your birthday!

Hey, guess what??? I am going to WDW this week! Only 5 more sleeps!

I have Spectromagic as mine. Where did you get the Soarin' one?

I'm curious, too (and Elin, also)! I have Fantasmic as my main ringer, and a whole slew of other Disney movie ones for specific people. No Spectro or Soarin though!

I'm so glad it's almost bedtime.

I didn't sleep terribly well last night as my cough got worse. Of course that made me feel worse again today. Thankfully with a little sudafed this afternoon I am feeling better now. I got up around 9 AM after a restless night. I immediately started in on the housework that I neglected while sick this week. I figured that since people were parking in our yard this afternoon for a wedding up the street we might get some visitors. Turns out I was right. Anyway, I cleaned all 4 bedrooms top to bottom and did quite a bit in the main areas though I really do need to dust better. I never did make it in to clean the bathroom, but life will go on ;) We attended the wedding at 3:30. It was a coworker of Chris'. Colby has always been smitten with his girlfriend (now wife). It was a simple outdoor wedding with a nice reception. I really think they were trying to keep costs at a minimum and they did all the food and decorations themselves. The bride asked to have her picture taken with Colby and that was all he needed to attach himself to her for the rest of the evening. They danced together and he basically followed her around. Everytime I tried to keep him with us she would ask him onto the dance floor so I guess she was enjoying him too. You should have seen him on the stage breakdancing  :rotfl2: It cooled off fast and really became cold so we headed home around 7:30. I'm all toasty in my PJs now.
Chris, my brother and Dad cut holes in our foundations in preparation of the pipes for the new furnace. That took them a good part of the day. My brother and Dad then began digging the trench that will house the pipes. We are renting a little back hoe so the digging needs to be done tomorrow. That means Chris will be tied up all day tomorrow.

Hunter is complaining that his ear is still hurting. The NP that saw him last Friday said that she was giving him a short dose and it may not completely clear it. We also saw the regular Ped in the meantime for his annual check up. The NPs notes are not in Hunter's chart so the nurse was unable to call in another prescription and the Ped's note said that ear, nose and throat were normal even though he commented to me that he could still see fluid and the infection :headache: That means that I need to take him back tomorrow for another visit to get a new prescription. I cannot tell you how POd I am. I'm sure that they will bill our insurance even though as far as they're concerned we were never there

I hope you and Hunter feel better quickly! I'm sorry for your doctor's office frustrations!

ETA: Wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing! :goodvibes:

Ditto!

We just came in from having dinner at Macaroni Grill with my bosses and Princess. It was a very nice evening! :)

I talked to my mom this afternoon. She sounds like she has some of the snap back in her garters. Hopefully the Taxol won't be too bad. She said she feels OK. I told her I bought a scarf for her, and made her a DVD of our Disney pics. I just need to get them to the post office.

I took my own advice and squirted some blue stuff in the toilets today, but since that's about all I did I think we better not go to the Pride parade tomorrow. It never starts on time, so it usually turns into a much longer affair than it should. And with the street closures it gets tricky to naviagate down there if you don't arrive early. I need to do laundry instead of cavorting at the parade.

i just got home from a busy day! went to a soccer game, got my hair done, went to a firefighters party, and just stopped at a local sports bar to watch teh baseball games---now here i am!

:wave2: Hi, Jen! I got my hair done today too. What did you have done?

While the kids did 100% better than the last rehearsal I saw them at, they did not make it into finals (by .35 of a point). I paid almost $30 for Abi and I to see the performance (the only one I KNOW I will get to see all season) so we stayed around for the first 7 that did make it into finals, and most we couldn't figure out why they got in and LHS didn't. :confused3

It was a fun day to spend with Abi. Cassidy left after prelims drum major retreat and even before that we saw her for about 10 minutes total.

I'm glad you all had such nice days! Jen and Elin, anything drastic enough that we should be seeing photos?! :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: it is an even better visual of my sister! :rotfl2: But, thanks!!

I didn't think it really looked like you!

As long as we are comparing my before and after...

didn't get any cut since I just had it cut 2 weeks ago or so. But I did go for something a little different... burgundy highlights! Probably should have gotten more, but Kristin was afraid I was going to come home with clown hair. Now she and Bob have to look very carefully to find them! :rotfl2: But I like it, so that is all that matters.
Im glad you like it!!
Elin - You look terrific! :thumbsup2
Elin-you look fantastic!!!!!

Definitely not different enough for pictures haha

Good morning all!

I think I am just about done packing...boarding passes are printed....a few more last minute tasks today and then we should be good to go!

Elin...if you have time in WDW...ring my cell

Becky - I am enjoying all your pictures from Disneyland. I think it will be a while before I am back there. :(

Robyn - I am glad you had a good day on your birthday!

Becky - What cool pics!

Robyn - The DMV on your birthday sucks. That happened to me several years back. Glad the rest of your day wasn't too bad!

They can be found here:

http://www.myxertones.com/

But there are many ways to get at them, depending on your cell phone carrier. Those of us on Verizon have to upload them to our computer and email them to our phones as an attachment.

However, I did finally get the message from Terry with Soarin' attached to it. At 1:30 this morning!! :rotfl:

Apparently the hair is not so drastic that pictures are necessary. According to Bob and Kristin, "Even in the sun we have to look for it!" I can see the difference so I am surprised they can't. Maybe next time I will get more. :confused3

Thanks, Jennifer! I need to take off another 50-60 pounds but am just not motivated to do it. So, maintaining is what I am working at right now. Then I will push for more weight loss. I am still exercising and according to Wii Fit I am in great condition for my age. :rotfl:

I would offer to have you meet us at the Poly on Saturday, but I think Kyle would not be too happy. ;)
