DDA Chapter 12

I do agree with you there, Glynis. But it is very difficult for me to watch his work! He gives me the "willies!"

that's the descriptive word I was looking for, "willies"!!

The game was rather uneventful. Steelers' scored and that was it. No nail-biting, on the edge of your seat moments.

We are traveling Nov. 30-Dec. 6. I think I finally have everything purchased/organized. The only thing left to do is renew my AP, which expires Oct. 18.

This schedule will continue at least until the end of October. But then playoffs start, so they could conceibably play up until Tday.

I loved reading your blog. The way you write is so entertaining. You should pen a book! I'm glad you made it through those few days relatively unscathed. I didn't realize that Kyle had to stay at the hospital when he is on call. I thought he could be home, but just tied to a pager, and have to go in if necessary.

Nope, he's gone about 35 hours when he's on call, then sleeping when he gets home. So we go without him for about 1.5 days out of every 4.... thankfully the next few months (starting with October) he is on "no-call" months! :yay:

I guess I hope Nicholas' team does well in the playoffs.... so I'll just send as many energy vibes to you as I can! :wizard:

Thank you for your compliment. I receive a few about my "writing" (on the blog, TRs, etc), but mostly I just feel like I babble. It's all luck if it's ever entertaining! :rotfl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB
mickeymouseglittercsg.gif

oh my good golly!! That is sooooooo cool!!

Thanks for letting me scraplift!;)

Hope your day is fabulous, Deb!!

Incredible. :sad2:

But why no actions shots of the horrible winds, like Debbie posted? ;)

I have some on my camera! They look really lame though, since we have no trees. There's a few short bushes waving in the wind (not very dramatic), and then some crazy hair shots... nothing exciting :)

Theresa - did you find your ID? Your trip is so close! :woohoo: I hope it is every bit as refreshing as you need it to be!  I'm sorry to hear about Jim's interview. :guilty: I hope your foot is feeling better... ouch! Should I have gotten a PM or something about the ornament exchange name assignment?

Not yet on the id and a PM should be in your box by early afternoon.

I think I am about ready to go off the deep end. This shuttling the kids around to activities 3 nights of the week is starting to take it's toll. I can't keep up with the house, homework, lawn, etc. What sent me over the edge tonight is that my parents are coming down tomorrow and tonight was the only night that I had to get the house in order. Now I know all of you are saying who cares what they say/think. But I can't stand hearing it from my dad. Thankfully Bob came over tonight and mowed the entire lawn, while I did the inside stuff and helped the kids with their homework. Nicholas is such an angel, wanting to help me any way that he could. But Alyssa, man I could have sent her packing. I am so tired of the chin down, eyebrows furrowed, lip out and feet stomping. I am ready to beat her senseless. Figure of speech. Doing all this myself, with the occasional help from Bob, is killing me. And then I get grief from a 6 year old when I tell her to vacuum the living room. Fine. She got a taste of her own medicine. Shower. Wash your own hair. Comb it. Dry it. Clean up your mess. Pack your snack. Put your own laundry away. I think she finally got it. But for how long? And tomorrow night I have to figure out a way to be at both football practice and back to school night. I guess somehow I will miraculously manage, like I always seem to do.

Sorry, but I really needed to vent.

Vent anytime! I was still in a funk after posting about my funk last week, but it did make me feel better to know I wan't alone.

The shuttling of children is one of the most stressful things I tackle on a daily basis. It's taken almost an act of congress to get everything orchestrated for tonight so that I can get both kids home, fed, to soccer, and get myself back to the school for open house. (and two commutes -- I'll have to pick them up from school, drive to Kaufman, then drive back to Dallas then back home again). I've had to ask for a lot of help from other parents on the soccer teams so I'm glad I've gotten to know some of them.

Good luck on structuring your "orchestra." I hope you have a good visit with your parents.

I just booked my filght--im going to colorado in november!!!! :)

That is terrific news!

Jen - Well, at least you are going SOMEWHERE!

Sooo...

They aren't using sippy cups in Princess's classroom. She has decided it is very entertaining to purposely dump her drink out on the table. The teacher mentioned it on Monday. I told Princess that is very naughty and she may NOT do that again. Momboss and Dadboss talked with her about it. I talked with her about it yesterday, and again this morning. Picked her up and they said she did it AGAIN! :headache: So she had no TV today. Momboss was mortified that Princess did it again after we all talked to her about it. Guess we'll see how it goes next week!

Diva called me this afternoon to tell me she thinks she has the job at the nursing home. I guess she just wants to be friends. Scared me half to death when I saw who was calling. Thought something was wrong! :scared:

Mom starts Taxol tomorrow. I talked to her tonight. I think she is a little worried about the possibility of an allergic reaction. I hope it goes OK.

I hope princess does better today. My sister is about to pull her hair out with potty training. I'm so glad that Diva is wanting to get closer.

Good luck to your Mom today! I just went for my diagnostic mammogram (have to do that because of large, dense "subjects", calcifications they are watching and family history.) It was nice to get the go ahead. There was one lady on the diagnostic side that didn't get as good of news.

Elizabeth-sounds like Divagirl just might be growing up. We'll be thinking of your mom tomorrow.

Jim didn't get to second round of interviews for the supervisor position, which I kind of knew would happen.

I pulled the names tonight and if there were no omissions I will send out names tomorrow.

I'm so sorry he didn't get to the second round. I hope another opportunity presents itself!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB
mickeymouseglittercsg.gif

very cute! Have a terrific birthday Deb! I hope you are feeling better.

Steffy!!!

another cute one! Steffy -- I hope your birthday is magical!

Jen -- your sig is very cute!

Have a good one everyone -- I better get some things done since I won't have time to work tonight.

Good Morning All!!

Thanks for the condolences, that's not the right word but I can't think of a better one, on Jim's interview. All of his co-workers were pulling for him, because they knew he'd be a pushover and that is probably why he will never get a supervisor position.

In exactly 8 days I will be winging my way to Glynis...suppose I better tell my coworker I ain't going to be here huh?:confused3 :rotfl2:

Jennifer love the the picture, the girls are growing so much!

Anne Marie glad to hear Sophie is doing well.

Tia I am so excited for you :dance3:

Jennifer - That pic is precious! :)

Anne Marie - Hang in there! I hate moving, and I hate dealing with schools, so I imagine you are about to go over the edge about now!

Incredible. :sad2:

But why no actions shots of the horrible winds, like Debbie posted? ;)

Yikes! No wonder your power was out!

DH would have loved to take actions shots of Ike, but nothing happened. :confused3

that's the descriptive word I was looking for, "willies"!!

Are you sure it's not "wonkas"? :lmao:

Marci - YAY for a good mammo!
I am HOPING to get away with a screening, but I bet they will make me have a diagnostic, which means it won't be covered by the insurance. Well, it is covered, but it goes towards our deductible which means 100% of it comes out of our pocket. I am not even close to hitting the $500 deductible. :sad2:
Princess is doing GREAT with the potty (of course now she will wet on herself). She has stayed dry at school every day so far. She even got up in the middle of nap to use the potty on Tuesday, then she went back to sleep. She was pretty easy, considering that she won't be 3 for another 4 months. Some of my boy charges have still had potty issues at age 4!

I brought some cups over for Princess. We still had some of DS's little cups in our cabinet. She is THRILLED. She immediately asked for a drink in the Pooh cup. She immediately spilled the water down the front of her shirt, too, but after the first spill she did well! :thumbsup2

Maybe Diva wants to be friends because I said I want to take them to WDW. ;) I am happy that she wants to talk to me, I am just trying to get over the weirdness of it.

I am well, thanks.

Just looking at the cute new picture of the girls, and thinking the one in (pink?) has a bit of an old soul look.

And well, as long as I'm at it...

Janet, Heidi, Vicki, Bernadette, Becky, Debbie, Lindsay, Karen, etc -- How are you all doing? :teeth:

Ok, now I'm off. Ridiculous amount of time spent on here! :rotfl:

Oh my goodness!! If I hadn't told John that I was going to be out next Friday...I wonder when he would have told me he was also going to be out? :headache:

Since we are both going to be out of state we'll have to be finding a different staff member to be here to cover being the "official" person here!!:scared:

Theresa I have a feeling he would have never told you.

Good luck finding someone to fill in. :wizard: :wizard:

I just popped on and wanted to tell everyone to watch the movie "Miss Pettegrew Lives for a Day". I have to go read the book now. I wish I would have done that the opposite way though.

I do need a few good books for the cruise and Universal...can anyone recommend a few please?

What kind of reading do you want to do? Light and fun? If so, check out the Hannah Swenson mysteries. The first is The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. They are fun, light, and easy to read.

I am also quite enjoying the books by Jennifer Chiaverini. She writes about quilting, and relationships. The books are fabulous, easy to read and leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy! I just finished the first one "The Quilter's Apprentice" and it was so good! I've been reading them out of sequence, but that doesn't matter.

"Twilight" and the other books in the series are also very good. They are by Stephenie Meyer.

I'll see if I can come up with some other books for you.

Glynis - did you hear from your family members in Houston yet?! And please tell me how you have 6 seasons?! :confused3 :rotfl: I hope you're more well-rested now! :goodvibes Hang in there.... but you DON'T want bedrest! You might not remember it well right now, but I know you know it's not all it's cracked up to be! ;) Hooray for $0.75 lunches! :yay: Congrats on your new nephew... And tell Leslie that I can't imagine she'll lose her record! :goodvibes And I must say I am SO impressed on your "disaster preparedness". I helped run a community course on it, and still had nothing we needed except some water  :faint: And I totally didn't know Tim Burton was with Helena Bonham Carter! I knew she was in all his movies, but so is JD... they are fabulous together! :thumbsup2

We did hear from Alan's sister and her family. They are all doing fine. The house next door lost all their trees, but Penny and her family didn't lose anything except their back fence. They are still without power (as of last night), but they are doing ok. They have plenty of food, water and essentials. Thanks for asking.
