DDA Chapter 11

Robyn - I am glad that Mo likes school! I am pretty sure she won't show her "true colors" unless she is bored. As long as that doesn't happen, you might be the only one who gets to see it. ;)

Jen hope your dad and brother won't be called out to much and that they stay safe themselves.

Robyn - Cute pics of Mo! I am sure she will behave for the teacher. Momboss asked me yesterday if Princess behaves for me when I have her by myself. (She was a little wild at lunch.) I told her ALL kids behave better when the parents aren't around. Princess is actually a very, very well-behaved little girl the majority of the time. She just likes to push the envelope with Momboss. ;)

Oh I know!! The kiddos here go absolutely bonkers when they get picked up. I absolutely hate those minutes.

I am sure that those times when you and Momboss are together with Princess it's hard for her to really know who is in charge.

Robyn - I am glad that Mo likes school! I am pretty sure she won't show her "true colors" unless she is bored. As long as that doesn't happen, you might be the only one who gets to see it. ;)

And that is just how I want it! She is very happy to make sure she follows the rules and make sure her teacher is proud of her. Emma is the same way, she is all about being the teacher's pet.

Robyn, Mo is a cutie.

Thanks!!

Good Morning DDA,

Sorry I've been MIA, things have been CRAZY at work and I've been working extra hours to try and get things on order.

I have quite a bit of catching up to do but I see Elizabeth's mom could use some PD, :wizard:

My dad made it back home yesterday, I got the whole story when I went to see him yesterday and it was MUCH worse than they let me know when they called. If he hadn't been in Nashville, and only a mile away from the hospital, I wouldn't have a dad today. He is doing well, be he isn't as well as he let on either, but considering what he went through he is doing great.

I'll be returning the favor and remembering those of you in Hannah's path in my prayers.

Continued prayers for your dad & you until he is fully recovered. I'm so glad he was in the right place to get the best care possible when needed.

If you all could continue to lift Kristen and Joel up in your prayers (the friends I mentioned the other day), they got some pretty bad news this week.

Wednesday was Joel's biopsy, and they knew pretty quickly that the cancer had returned. On Thursday, they found that what they suspected "at worst" was true -- there were cancer cells in his spinal fluid. Essentially, after one week of remission, a cancer that had originally been one that - given Joel's age, health, etc - should have been very easily curable, will eventually take his life, although with no approximate timeline even. For now, they are looking at much more aggressive chemotherapy, and then radiation and a bone marrow transplant, assuming they can find a donor.

I know they appreciate and covet all the prayers they can get!

Continued prayers for your friends and a  for you!

so sad, absolutely!

So glad to hear from you debbie

Robyn, cute pictures!

Good morning all! well al lthe news channels are saying we should start getting the rain/wind late afternoon or early evening--im planning on staying in but my brother/dad will both be at the firehosues and im sure they will be running all night

Thanks Jen. Enjoy your day in.

Debbie,
Glad you posting! :wizard: for your Dad.

Jennifer,
That is so sad...I hope he responds to the treatment well.:wizard:

Robyn,
Cute pictures of Molly!

It's partly sunny here right now but seeing from Elin's radar picture Hanna is headed this way! They say Ike may head straight to Florida.

Has anyone heard from Lindsay? I wonder what they are doing with the cruise...Where can they possibly devert them too when the whole caribbean is being affected?

Robyn - There are days Princess tells Momboss to go back to work. I know she doesn't mean it, but I feel bad for Momboss! There are also days that Princess is so awful when Momboss comes in that I pick her up and put her on the naughty mat. She has to understand that the changing of the guard does not mean it is a free-for-all! :scared1:
Of course some of her stuff is just because she is 2. Brother and Sister were MUCH worse.
I am excited that you and Emma are coming to Dallas NEXT MONTH!

:scared1: I think I'd have cried if my girls had done that. They were always happy to see me. When we lived in Holland (Michigan), they had a fantastic day care provider and great friends there. They absolutely loved Robin. However, they were still excited to see me when I got there to pick them up.

Debbie, thank you so much for checking in! I'm so glad to hear your dad was close to a hospital and made it in time (and that he's doing relatively well now!), although I am sure is disconcerting to hear about what 'actually' took place regarding his health.

Take care of yourselves, and check in when you can -- and don't worry about catching up first! :goodvibes

I will ditto this!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Take care Debbie

It is raining steady here but hopefully not enough for my DD to be concerned about. She lives right along the Susquehana River and it gets a little uneasy there when really bad storms come up. And of course once she has seen her basement full of water, you can imagine she now gets a little fearful if the rain stays around for a while.

Everyone else on the East Coast Please STAY SAFE

I was bringing Bob up to the minute on all our DDA family just now and he chuckled at my mention of my title 22 years ago. He also reminded me that Kathrin had drawn a picture of me in my robe, riding on a skateboard with my mouth W I D E open. I had forgotten about that. I hope you can find someone to help you out soon, Amy. You need some time alone as much as you need some sleep. Please take care.

It does pass, but right now I know you think I am lying through my teeth.

Elin, I can so relate!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Hal and I were at the Dr's office when I was pregnant with my second, and he politely (or what he thought was polite at the time) asked me if I thought I should take a shower when I got home. :headache:
Apparently I had not been taking care of my own personal self too well. That was not a good day. :rotfl:

She should have safely made it to Castaway Cay and Nassau and then back to Port Canaveral. I know the 5 day made it to Castaway Cay once and Nassau once. They were supposed to make it back to Castaway Cay yesterday but did not due to the weather. They may have had some rough seas, I know the Magic had 20-30 foot waves on Thursday. The Magic docked this morning in Port Canaveral without problems.

They really do a good job of trying to keep you away from the crappy weather and seas. They will reroute and redirect to keep everyone safe. They changed our route to get us to Castaway Cay due to Gustav.

I know this because several lucky ducks who cruised on the Panama cruise with me stayed on the special 5 night after wards.

It's boring here today. With all the rain we are stuck inside. The kids are a bit stir crazy. I ended up making a triple batch of crepes. Some for lunch today and some for camping next weekend. There are even a few set aside for breakfast this week though I bet Hunter will eat them all this weekend. I even subbed Splenda for the sugar and didn't notice any difference in flavor. I did have crepes, but instead of maple syrup I opted for sugar free zero point raspberry jam. I think I did ok point wise :thumbsup2

Sooooo...

You know how I said we wouldn't do concierge next summer? I lied. :rolleyes1
Today is our 11 month mark if we fly in on Thursday night. In all probability we won't go until Friday morning, but just for kicks I called to see if I could book a concierge studio for 7 nights. And I COULD!  Now I just need to call next weekend and try to add the last 3 nights. Once I have it secured we can hem and haw about which day to fly in and I can modify our arrival date if I need to. I figured it was a sign that I should book since I called almost 3 hours after they opened and they still had a concierge room available!

Thanks Anne Marie.

That is hard but I am sure that also makes Momboss feel good to know that Princess is in safe hands with you all day.

I am so excited too!!! Emma will be too. I should tell her soon!

It is very unsettling to know how bad it can be and then to hope that it won't get that bad again. It's that whole lack of control thing. :wizard: for her!
