DDA Chapter 11

Have you all read what is being done at CS? Kristin and I were discussing the possibilities of staying there when they are done with the upgrades. In case you haven't seen the article I will go look for it and post a link in a minute.

I did see that! We have often said the only reason we haven't tried a mod is because of the beds. Our big requirements are queen size beds and a coffee maker, which CSR will now have! I don't love the theming of that resort, but I will give it another look once the renovations are complete.

Good luck!
I had a boss who went out for a manicure in an ice storm. WITH HER KIDS! I refused to go in that day because it was too slippery, but she had her priorities and that manicure was at the top of her list.

We have an hour to change our minds. Lots can change in 60 minutes!

I have to pick up Kingdom Keepers 2 at the library. Not sure if I go out in the rain or not. They are open until 4pm today. I may wait until Monday.

I was going to say something similar, but you notice that I abstained.

Goody two shoes!!

Thanks, Elin! If I can't get them I will waitlist for them. We may decide closer to the trip that we don't really want concierge, but since there are only 5 concierge studios I figure it's better to have it locked in now and ponder the choices later.

Robyn - Better to plan now and modify later, I always say! ;)

True, I had planned and planned 2 or 3 trips before the one we finally took.

I have to tell you that the boys along with their entire families (all 14 of them) are going to WDW this Oct 2-9 and they have not planned one meal, they are on the dining plan no less, and don't even have a game plan as to how and what they are going to do. :scared1: :scared1: Even I am sick. But we TOLD them they need to book their meals way back when and they didn't bother! It is going to be one big MESS!

See? Let that be a lesson to you! :rotfl2:
You know, I don't wish a crummy trip on anyone, but they are kind of going to get what they deserve. If you are going to put that much money into a trip you HAVE to plan. I planned the snot out of my August trip and we still lost money on Dining! I hope they manage to have fun anyway.

We have had inches and inches of rain and there does not seem to be an end anytime soon. The wind has started coming from the other direction now and is blowing harder than before.

I hope Tammi had a good trip out in this mess. Kristin and I are planning to go out and get our pampering done as long as we can get from the house to the car without being blown away. ;)

Be safe!!

I just looked out the patio doors and there was a hummingbird at one of my feeders! That tiny little brain of his was not working on all its cylinders, I think! :scared:

I can't believe he made it to the feeder!

Good luck!

Insane!!

That is awesome!!

Our library finally added it to it's catalog. I just reserved it. I should get the 1st one for Emma to read.

Oh if we go it will be planned thoroughly and this time around Eric has learned that I know better than him. ;) I feel sorry for them but they do get what they deserve. The funniest thing is that Ty and Hayden's parents don't want to take or rent a stroller because Ty will not want to ride in it and therefore neither will Hayden. Ty will have just turned 4 and Hayden just turned 2 in July. They also dont' want to take afternoon breaks because they don't make the boys' take naps. They don't like the fact that I insist on down time in the afternoon. I don't make them fall asleep they do that on their own. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this one.

:worship: :worship: Wow. That is amazing. They must have had a lot of time on their hands for that one.

Robyn I don't think I'd want to be a fly on the wall. They are sure to come back wondering why anyone would choose to go to WDW at all :confused3 Some people have the attitude that vacations just happen, no planning, no stress, just spontaneous fun. Obviously they've never actually experience all that WDW has to offer. :rotfl:

I love parents who are mystified at how I MAKE kids nap. :rotfl2:

No stroller for a 2 year old? Right. Good plan! And no breaks? Sure. Perfect!

DS naps almost every day at WDW. Not because I MAKE him, but because he falls asleep in his bed as soon as he puts his head down. I expect DH to nap because that is his normal schedule.

Momboss and I have talked briefly about them going next December with Princess, but I almost wonder if they should wait until she is older. Well, she will be almost 4 by then, so it should be OK. But she will have a stroller and I will strongly suggest that they take a midday break.

Sooooo...

You know how I said we wouldn't do concierge next summer? I lied. :rolleyes1
Today is our 11 month mark if we fly in on Thursday night. In all probability we won't go until Friday morning, but just for kicks I called to see if I could book a concierge studio for 7 nights. And I COULD!  Now I just need to call next weekend and try to add the last 3 nights. Once I have it secured we can hem and haw about which day to fly in and I can modify our arrival date if I need to. I figured it was a sign that I should book since I called almost 3 hours after they opened and they still had a concierge room available!

:rotfl: Congratulations! ;)

Stay safe everyone getting all the rain!

We on the other hand are enjoying a BEAUTIFUL day! Clear blue skies, lower humidity, and cooler temps. My sinuses are already thankful!

... and a great OSU game to boot! :yay:

I just looked out the patio doors and there was a hummingbird at one of my feeders! That tiny little brain of his was not working on all its cylinders, I think! :scared:

Aww, poor (stupid) bird!

Oh my gosh! That is beyond amazing!

Radar update:

I think we are finally nearing the end of this thing called Hanna. (we are the red dot)

Kristin and I are home with beautifully manicured nails and relaxed hands and arms from the massage. The wind and rain were not too bad, but the power went off a few times. Bob said it was off here at the house for about 15 minutes while we were gone too.

Does Peanut have a name yet (even if you aren't sharing)?

Yes. We have actually narrowed it down to 2. We'll wait until we see him to see which fits better. Our number one choice is Timothy Locke, and number two is Alan Timothy.

I had a Lean Cuisine meal with cottage cheese & beets on the side.

I have chili in the crock pot for dinner, the nights are getting cooler here!

Chanon thinks I am weird lol so I will ask the rest of you, "what do you eat with your chili"? Our schools around here serve chili with peanut butter sandwiches & this has stuck with us. Besides crackers we have to have plenty of peanut butter & bread handy when having chili :thumbsup2 Kristine are the schools in Chicago the same way?

I have to have cornbread muffins with my chili. I also like to top it with cheese and sour cream.

If you all could continue to lift Kristen and Joel up in your prayers (the friends I mentioned the other day), they got some pretty bad news this week.

Wednesday was Joel's biopsy, and they knew pretty quickly that the cancer had returned. On Thursday, they found that what they suspected "at worst" was true -- there were cancer cells in his spinal fluid. Essentially, after one week of remission, a cancer that had originally been one that - given Joel's age, health, etc - should have been very easily curable, will eventually take his life, although with no approximate timeline even. For now, they are looking at much more aggressive chemotherapy, and then radiation and a bone marrow transplant, assuming they can find a donor.

I know they appreciate and covet all the prayers they can get!

This just gets more and more tragic! Definite prayers are going out for them!
