DDA Chapter 11

Janet.....the schools around here have major peanut moratoriums..they have designated tables for peanut free zones...so they would NEVER serve that for a student lunch....I have never heard of that with chili...I wouldn't be opposed to trying it though :)

Now that you mention this, I wonder if our schools still serve it peanut butter sandwiches :confused3 I will have to ask the boys!

I need some good thoughts for my mom.

She is extremely fatigued. She missed work yesterday and today. She had labs done yesterday adn I guess her white count is almost undetectable. They put her back on the Cipro and told her hopefully the Neulasta shot from last week will boost up her cells.

She is also having some other issues so she is going for a pelvic ultrasound on Tuesday. I think she is probably dehydrated because she says nothing tastes good so she isn't drinking anything. :sad2:

She is also still having problems with her incision hurting. She says it feels worse now than it did after the surgery. She says there is a lot of scar tissue, which I think is normal, but it is very uncomfortable.

They have new neighbors upstairs who are very loud into the wee hours of the morning so she is having trouble sleeping.

Diva was in the background just WHINING. She still has no job, but she was leaving to go out with her friends. Mom only had 19 paid sick days to start with and those are rapidly dwindling. Not sure how she is going to make payments on that car. I am FURIOUS that Diva isn't working, and I am worried about Mom. Diva thinks it would be fine for Mom to have 2 jobs, because Diva thinks it is 100% Mom's responsibility to provide whatever she wants. She is so selfish I want to strangle her.
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I hope the meds kick in and she starts feeling better.

Ours serve the Uncrustables. They are in the prewrapped packages so as not to contaminate other foods. We also have peanut free tables, where kids with allergies have to sit.

Chris found a friend to go to the Lake George car show tomorrow. He is excited to go. Hopefully it won't rain too much and they will have a good time. My parents will watch the boys for me tomorrow night as I picked up that shift. Hopefully it will be busier than tonight. We have been pretty slow this week.

Hope Chris has a wonderful time!

Deb - I guess I am surprised she feels this bad during her "break" from treatment. I would have thought she would feel good, but maybe the chemicals have built to levels high enough that she feels crummy. I don't know. :sad2:

I thought about trying to call Debbie, but I am pretty sure the number I have for her in my phone is actually her DH's cell phone. Has anybody tried her home number?

I have her home phone number and will call tomorrow. It was too late tonight to do so when I thought about it.

DS has decided to watch "Nightmare". I want to go get the anniversary edition, even though there probably isn't much additional content.

Hey, Amy? If Kevin is Mayor will his face spin around like the Mayor of Halloweentown? That would be cool. ;)

You are one crazy lady, Elizabeth! :lmao:

Amy, Good Luck to Kevin if he ends up running for Mayor. We'll all be :cheer2: for him if he ends up running.

I, too, understand Amy...and honey you need a break of some sort.

Amy,
    for you.

I can sympathize..having 3 kids all under 5 can really put you to the limit. I thought back then that I would have a nervous breakdown (not a real one but you get the idea). We had no help from either mom & dana worked alot so everything was on me...It does get easier & you will look back & think "where did those years go?" I know it's hard to feel that way now.
I agree that maybe a sitter or friend can watch the kids for even an afternoon (I never did this, wish I did) so you can just "step off the world" for a few hours.

I thought that title belonged to Matty. Or did he pass the torch?

Try to take it easy Amy. The kids won't die of boredom if you don't go anywhere for a few days.

I'm sorry Kevin got hurt. Here's some :wizard: for good luck with the ortho. Congrats to him too!

I remember PPD after Kristin was born. I think it is a combination of hormones and exhaustion. I cried all the time and Bob took to calling me "Hctib on Wheels." I was appalled but I have to agree it was probably appropriate! I hope whatever is causing you all this distress quickly runs its course and you get to feeling more like your delightful self, Amy.

Lots of luck to Kevin! Sounds like a great move for him. :)

Amy, :grouphug: This too shall pass. I wish that we all lived closer so we could help you out.

  Amy I've been through the kids not sleeping. I think Nick was 5 before he slept through the night. I remember calling Chris at work and having him come home because I was an emotional mess. No matter how you have to do it you need to get some sleep. Hire a babysitter and just go to bed or have Kevin watch the kids from 6 PM to 2 AM whatever works, but you need to take care of yourself.

Congratulate Kevin on the Mayor prospect.

Thank you all, very, very much!

I finally told my MIL some of my feelings tonight, and hopefully she'll help us out a little this weekend. I do need to finally start looking for a babysitter or two. There's a really nice woman from our old church who always watches the kids for doctor's appointments and the like, but she refuses payment, so I hate to ask her to watch them for "fun" stuff.

Matty finally started sleeping through the night when he was 18 months old, right after our December WDW trip. I hope it doesn't take Noah that long to lose his "title." ;)

And Elin, Kevin hasn't used the word hctib out loud, but I know he's thinking it. :teeth:

Hey, Amy? If Kevin is Mayor will his face spin around like the Mayor of Halloweentown? That would be cool. ;)

That's twisted, Elizabeth. :rotfl:

Amy, Good Luck to Kevin if he ends up running for Mayor. We'll all be :cheer2: for him if he ends up running.

Thanks! Perhaps he should milk this injury and work on some sympathy votes, too. :teeth:

Thanks again, everyone. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend. Lots of :grouphug: and :wizard: for you all!

Well just posting to see if anyone else happens to be up--ive been working on classroom stuff and am still wide awake! i just better be able to sleep in tomrorrow!

I'm still up. But I should probably try and sleep. I got a bunch of paperwork I need to finish this weekend. I have no motivation to do it. Do they not realize I still think I am on vacation?

Elizabeth, I'm sorry to hear she is feeling so poorly! I hope you are able to offer support from afar, and be at peace with that until/unless she really needs you!

So this ADR booking thing is going to be a NIGHTMARE for our trip in March. On one date in October, booking will open up for about 5 months of travel. How terrible is that going to be to call?! :sad2: I know the rumor is that some might be available online, but I'm sure that will have kinks..... grr.
