DDA Chapter 11

Now, that's just wrong!!!!

:rolleyes1

You'll like this one too - we had a client call on tickets from Cleveland to Knoxville. One way BASE price (before taxes and fees and fuel surcharges) was $77. When you add all the taxes and fees and fuel surcharges, the ticket went up to $378.

Unfreakinbelievable.

That's ridiculous! :sad2:

Why, oh why, did I wait to get my airfare?!?!

Tickets just went up over $30 pp each way!

That's an extra $180 that I DON'T want to pay!

Maybe I will hold off and see if they go down again. My luck they will go up even further!:scared:

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this, Tom! I hope they go back down quickly!

I would wait and see what they do next week. Seems like the fares always go up on the weekends.

Janet - Apparently they don't serve chili in the schools here. :confused3 I pulled up the menu because I was curious. They offer 3 different entrees every day, but chili doesn't appear to be one of them!

Hi there...I exist.

I don't know if I have a little PPD or if I'm just exhausted and overwhelmed, but I know for sure, I'm out of energy and adrenaline this week. :(

The good:
-We had a nice visit to Huron...an excellent time at Cedar Point.
-We met Alyssa's teachers and they seem very nice (school starts Tuesday).
-Alyssa seemed to have fun at her first soccer game, and there was a playground nearby, so Matty was happy, too! :)
-Noah had a good 2-month-well appointment today (he's 24 1/4 inches long and weighs 11 pounds 14 ounces!)

The bad:
-Over the weekend, all the kids caught some sort of crud and their noses have been running non-stop for almost a week now.
-Noah is still the world's worst sleeper, unless I'm holding him all night long.
-There was only one injury during Alyssa's soccer game...Coach Kevin! Somehow he tore a muscle running down the field. He had an MRI yesterday, but the earliest he could get an appt. with an orthopedic surgeon is Tuesday. Our household and crutches do not go hand-in-hand!
-I'm so tired! This morning, I cried because I washed a load of laundry, forgetting to get all the Kleenex out of Alyssa's pockets. Silly, I know, and an easy mess to fix, but I'm exhausted. :(

So that's what's going on in Sharonville. Oh, and Kevin could end up Mayor soon!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting. You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. Keep posting pictures, please, because they always make me smile!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Amy

I know! Just like the gas prices! They know when everyone has a paycheck in their pocket that they are willing to get rid of!

Amy - Sounds like you need a day off! Can you hire a sitter for a few hours so you can have some down time? You need to get some rest. Laundry sucks, but it isn't anything to cry about. ;) Although I have been that tired, and I know how everything seems to go wrong. That seems to be when I spill things, or hurt myself, or have some other stupid problem that just seems insurmountable. Hang in there! :wizard:

Amy

Tom I hope airfare comes down some for you :wizard:

Thank you...I appreciate your hugs and empathy!

I, too, understand Amy...and honey you need a break of some sort.

Amy,
    for you.

I can sympathize..having 3 kids all under 5 can really put you to the limit. I thought back then that I would have a nervous breakdown (not a real one but you get the idea). We had no help from either mom & dana worked alot so everything was on me...It does get easier & you will look back & think "where did those years go?" I know it's hard to feel that way now.
I agree that maybe a sitter or friend can watch the kids for even an afternoon (I never did this, wish I did) so you can just "step off the world" for a few hours.

I had a Lean Cuisine meal with cottage cheese & beets on the side.

I have chili in the crock pot for dinner, the nights are getting cooler here!

Chanon thinks I am weird lol so I will ask the rest of you, "what do you eat with your chili"? Our schools around here serve chili with peanut butter sandwiches & this has stuck with us. Besides crackers we have to have plenty of peanut butter & bread handy when having chili :thumbsup2 Kristine are the schools in Chicago the same way?
I have Italian bread with butter to dip in the juices. Usually just a salad for a side.

(ETA: That's the final RT cost...so that's at 189 for a one way flight. More than doubled.)
 :scared1: Holy crap! :faint:

All this talk about airfare....I leave for Florida in 2 and a half months and NONE of us have airfare. I have NEVER waited to this close to a trip before to purchase air. If I don't get a good Ding when the time gets closer, we will be driving.

I thought that title belonged to Matty. Or did he pass the torch?

Try to take it easy Amy. The kids won't die of boredom if you don't go anywhere for a few days.

I'm sorry Kevin got hurt. Here's some :wizard: for good luck with the ortho. Congrats to him too!

We have started getting some light rain. I'm doing the laundry tonight in case we lose power.

When we were growing up our school lunches of chili also included peanut butter sandwiches!

I remember PPD after Kristin was born. I think it is a combination of hormones and exhaustion. I cried all the time and Bob took to calling me "Hctib on Wheels." I was appalled but I have to agree it was probably appropriate! I hope whatever is causing you all this distress quickly runs its course and you get to feeling more like your delightful self, Amy.

Lots of luck to Kevin! Sounds like a great move for him. :)
