DDA Chapter 11

I can imagine the emotions you are going through. I just looked. Raleigh is 3 and a half hours from Fredericksburg! :thumbsup2 :yay:

And about 4 hours from the Outer Banks (same as for us!). Hmmmm... should we be looking for accommodations at the beach for next summer??? :goodvibes

Anne Marie will this affect the Dec. trip? I hope not, but understand if it does!

Thanks everybody!!!

I will pass along your good thoughts to Dana!

Yep, we will be there when you all are next summer!

Yay! Closer to some of my DDA friends!

Janet,
It shouldn't but I am checking with Dana when he gets home to be sure. I certainly hope not!

Anne Marie- Congrats to Dana. :wizard: for a smooth transition. How exciting for you all.

Tom- I hope that the new law doesn't cause too much grief in your planning.

Jennifer- I hope the girls keep improving, even if it's a little at a time. :wizard: and some more for you to get through it all :wizard:

Good morning, Elin. :)

We are off to work MOPS today. After that I've got to make a fun to the Girl Scout Express van to buy some stuff for mom. Then, I pick up Connor at home, Kassie from school and we are off to Disney on Ice! The kids are so excited. And, well, I am too. :goodvibes:

Yesterday, I got Terra's activity book put together and up to Kinkos to bind. She was sooo thrilled by it that I think I got 10 thank yous before we could get out the door of Kinkos. Sometimes it's the simple things, eh. I also got our tip envelopes printed, made and (most of) the money in them. I'm short a few ones for the last two, but I'll get them in today. Tomorrow I've got to get ready for camping so I don't think I'll get much trip stuff done, but I've got to get moving on the autograph pages next week and my Minnie skirt made. Then I guess it will be time to consider packing, but we don't have anywhere near enough close to pack on Elizabeth timing. ;) I do have lots of extras to get together and those are usually the things I forget so we'll start them soon.

Have a great day everyone!

I can't believe how quickly your trip is coming. I remember a ticker that was years away :rotfl: It sounds like you are getting everything in order :thumbsup2

Perhaps not! :rotfl2: The best I can figure is that she was saying "pandas" (those are in the book) but it was coming out with a long "e" instead of a short "a".

I hate car stuff! :headache: Sorry to hear about the tires. Hope soccer goes well tonight! We do need to get together when Lindsay comes back! :)

No advice here. Airfare is INSANE for next Spring and Summer. :scared:

I can't decide if I feel well enough to go to the zoo. That was what I was considering for today. Princess and I have a couple of errands to do first, so we'll get those done and I will assess how I feel from there. Thanks for the well wishes!

Run the errands and take it easy. Maybe a low key day will have you on your feet quicker than over doing it today.

Thanks for all the good thoughts for me & the kids. Katie seemed much better today. Daniel's nose bleed stopped & he fell right asleep. Today was his first day of school & he was very excited.

Dana accepted the offer for NC this morning...we will be moving to the Raleigh area over Christmas break.

I am :) and :scared: and :yay:

I'm glad the kids are feeling better. That is great news about the new job. I can understand your mixed feelings, any change is hard and this is a big one. I have to bet that the cost of living is less down there than in NY so hopefully you'll find an amazing home at a fair price and wonderful schools for your kids :wizard: When does the house/school hunting trips begin?

Congrats to Dana! :thumbsup2 Good luck getting everything in order! How exciting to shop for a new house!

Oh and another thing..I guess I will be joining all you early August traverlers at Disney next year since the kids will go back to school 8/24/09.

Yay! Can't wait to see you guys again! :goodvibes

Thank you Deb! Yes the cost of housing & taxes are significantly less which will be nice. We have been calling schools & getting info. Once we find the school the house will follow. We may rent until we get "the lay of the land" when we first get down there.

Can you all spare a few bits of pixie dust. It looks like Hanna is going to move up the coast near us Friday night into Saturday and from the path they are showing it will hit us from the west. Which is exactly where we don't want it to hit from. It obviously wont' be catastrophic but Isabel in 2003 was a TS and we ended up with 4 feet in the basement from just the storm surge.

Our errands are finished. It is a BEAUTIFUL day outside, but I think we will go to the park instead of the zoo. I don't feel too horrible, but I am REALLY tired. It is late enough now that if we go to the zoo Princess will fall asleep in the car, and that makes a mess of her nap.

I called and rescheduled my Dr. appt for Monday after I take Princess to school. Somebody remind me Sunday night, please.

:wizard: :wizard: You've got it. Do you own or can you rent a sump pump in preparation? If you can start pumping early enough you might be able to keep it dryer. I truly hope that it misses you.

Robyn :wizard: for no flooding!

Anyone heard from Debbie yet?

Yep. We are supposed to be getting it too. The Gov. has already declared VA a state of emergency. Isabel left us without power for 4 days. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for all us eastcoasterners.

Enjoy the beautiful day! It is miserably humid here still.

Yikes, Robyn! :scared: I hope the flooding stays away from you! :wizard:

Thanks. Emma was furiously cleaning up the playroom last night so we could easily bring up all their toys if need be. I think we traumatized her from Isabel. We had just recently gone through all her toys and donated them so when things turned up missing we told her they washed down the river with the flood waters. Oops! But it was great incentive for getting both of them to clean up last night.

I did sleep much better last night. I think I only woke up about 6 times. I even got up with the boys and once they were off to school I went back to bed for a couple of hours. I really needed that sleep. It's amazing how changing one's diet can really mess with everything. So far today I haven't had a headache so maybe things are improving. I wonder how long it takes to get all the caffeine out of my system? Since I didn't get anything accomplished this morning I need to get going now. Lots of laundry to put away and rooms to straighten before work. I also need to finish Hunter's Lifeguard sweatshirt and hem a pair of pants for work.

I'm glad you were able to get some sleep! I think caffeine headaches last for about 3 days, give or take. Hopefully you are over the worst of it! :wizard:

No sump pump and I honestly don't know why we don't have one, there must be a reason. But it wouldn't have made any difference the last time. The water is behind our house but when it came into the house it came in from the front seeping in from the foundation.

4 days. We had powered restored by the same afternoon. Here's to it not doing anything to any of us. :wizard:

The only thing that is keeping me sane is that one it's not on my birthday weekend and I am not pregnant. I was pregnant with Emma during Floyd and it wreaked havoc on my parent's community and then I was pregnant with Mo during Isabel. Both of the storms hit within 2 days of my birthday.
