DDA Chapter 11

Bob and I got new cell phones today. We've spent the last 4 hours playing with our new phones - we kind of splurged on the Blackberry Pearl...would have loved the Curve, but the price point is still to high for us. So now we are on Alltel. By T-Mobile!

Hi!!!!!!!!!!! We are back home!!!

We had a great time!

Hope everyone is doing well!:)

We did have a wonderful time, although much too short. I do thank you for quoting me so that I could see that I needed to go back and correct my grammar!!

No football here today. Hair appointments and some Resident Evil (BLECHH!) playing have been happening. However.....

WARNING, ANNE MARIE.... don't be mad

Kristin are going to a wine tasting downtown and then will grab a bite to eat
.

Ok!!:lmao: ;)

Hope you had fun!

I spent the morning at IHOP too! But it was NOT quiet. :rotfl: Tammi and herBob and their 3 kids, Anne Marie and Dana and their three kids and myBob and I and no kids had a GREAT time. I wish we all lived closer!

It was so nice to get together with you all. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It was wonderful seeing Anne Marie and family. Her DH is just a nice as she is. Elin is right. I wish you all lived closer too. And I mean everyone!

You are too sweet.

Yes I wish we lived closer too!!! Someday we have to plan that beach house trip in the the outer banks! ;)

Tammi, your kids & Bobs are even more beautiful in person. I am so glad we were able to get together today.

By the way Dana said to me after we left that it was a pleasure to meet you all & we all talked like we have known each other for years..I said "we have!".

Ok I am going to pass out...I'll check in & try to catch up tomorrow morning. Also have check out our photopass cd. Good night!

Well, the paint color changed again! When we got to the store, Jacob decided he didn't want sand color, but a dark green. We compromised on a celery color. It will still work for what he wants, and for what I have in mind for Peanut.

We have the room taped and the plastic is all laid out. We'll paint after we get back from the football game this evening.

That sounds lovely. I can't wait to see the color. Let me know what theme you decide on and the color please. I may need to whip you up a little something for the nursery :goodvibes

the bed is similar to the bottom one in this picture:

We also found a desk at a garage sale for $18 for Cassidy's room. Twas a good day!!

That looks nice and a desk too. I'm sure she is very happy tonight.

I'm not bubbly anymore? I must be out of fizz. :teeth:

Our Out of Town Boxes are complete except for the "welcome letter"...the boxes consist of 2 small water bottles, mini kleenex packet, travel candle, two bags of 100 snack food, purse calendar for 2009/10, bag of microwave popcorn and a pocket flyer on a local shopping area that's really cool. I might toss in some kisses, but all sams had today was "neopolotan" which I've honestly never seen before!

That sounds really nice. I guess no one did out of town boxes way back when we got married. I've only heard of them over the last few years :confused3

Work pretty much sucked again. Chris ended up delivering our kids to my parents house so he came in for a couple of beers. I had a drink with him after work and now we are headed for bed. Have a nice night and may you all stay safe in the wake of the upcoming storm

I definitely need the power of the DDA, I'm going to ask for pryers for a miracle, that somehow this storm fizzles out or at least doesn't reach the strength they are predicting. Asking that it just doesn't hit here feels wrong, as then it will spread it's devastation somewhere else.

The westbound interstate is almost at a standstill, and has been for at least four hours now. I'm confused as to why people from Louisiana are headed west instead of North. :confused3

And to make matters worse, Hannah is riding the coattail of Gustav. :sad2:

Absolutely..ive been thinking about you every time i hear the reports on Gustav..

Debbie - You all most definitely have our prayers. We are praying for a great invisible wall to come up and knock Gustav out before he can do any major damage. Keep safe and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you constantly. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Welcome home, Anne Marie! Can't wait to hear more.

Well, we had a nice night. Seems most of the adults didn't eat "properly" for going to Ted Drewes right away (aka too much Cici's). So, I brought the kids home while Kristi and Chris went to pick up the ice cream. They played while I watched the Red Sox in the game that I thought I had missed this afternoon. Guess them adjusted the schedule sometime recently. After that, I got about 1/3 of the papers cut for Terra's autograph cards. Maybe even closer to 1/2. To do the rest, I need to sit and look at some character photos to see what colors I want to use. I'm using 2 colors of paper (4x6 mat and a slightly smaller "signing" piece) plus colored photo corners to make them reminicent of the character. I wasn't sure how they'd turn out, but I think it's going to work out pretty much as I had invisioned (which doesn't actually happen very often). :goodvibes:

Tomorrow, while everyone else is as church and Terra plays with Phil I'm going to sit down and really knock out the computer oriented stuff I need to do - update spreadsheets, figure tips, print out worksheets, etc. It sounds like Dad wants to close the pool tomorrow afternoon and BBQ then instead of Monday, including inviting over 2 sets of neighbors. So, I may not end up taking the kids bowling after all. We'll see what mom thinks when she gets home from work in a few minutes. Since, of course, Dad will do none of the getting ready for the BBQ or inviting people over and we'd have to figure out what to serve with the pork steaks and peach cobbler since we hadn't made the full plans for Mon yet.

Well, I'm betting my daughter has fallen asleep watching her Goofy cartoons so I guess I'd better go. I'm pretty beat too plus have an achy back from sitting on the floor cutting papers earlier. That will teach me not to work at the table properly. :rolleyes1 Night all!

Debbie everytime I hear a hurricane update I become more worried about you. Where are you located in relation to where they think it will hit?  Please take all necessary measures to keep yourself and your family safe

Me too, as I saw on my yahoo news that it is now a cat. 4
and they are racing to evacuate Cuba and the Gulf Coast.

Tom & Chanon you both need to get to feeling better :wizard: At least one of you got some meds ;)

Chanon I thought the other banner was really cool & find the new one really blah. But what can you do :confused3

Elizabeth I received mail today as well.Your facial sounds very relaxing.

Elin & Tammi glad you had a good time with Anne Marie & family. Elin hope you enjoy tonight!

Glynis yea for another night away(even if it is a football game)!

Tia I would be furious as well, I really hope you get the rest of your pay :wizard: Sounds like you have some good possibilities lined up!

Jen enjoy your evening at the boardwalk!

Hi Stephanie :goodvibes Hope your cleaning goes well!

Robyn sounds like you had a very nice evening last night, have fun tonight as well!

Theresa I hope you found a bed today!

Deb bummer about having to rush to clean your house, at least it is done now though!

Debbie continued good thoughts coming your way

What are these red box's you all keep talking about? I know they have to do with videos, apparently we do not have any here lol

Not sure if Debbie will be on tonight, but plenty of good thoughts going out to her and everyone on the Gulf Coast.
Stay safe everyone. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Definite ditto! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

those who are in Gustav's path please be safe....espescially our DDA family!!

Thanks for all the good thoughts, I promise to keep updating as long as I can. I've been in a state of denial all day and haven't accomplished all that I should, so tomorrow I will definitely have to finish up. Right now they are still predicting that Gustav will hit LA, but we will still have winds in excess of 75 mph and a storm surge of around 12ft. We are officially under a hurricane watch now.

Well I just checked the latest update, the projected path has moved more toward us, with almost a direct hit on New Orleans, and arriving Monday am, I think I need a Margarita!
