DDA Chapter 11

Beth - Have fun with the Wii Fit! I still haven't bought one.

The room charge thing is weird.
When it happened to us we were on DDP (the old one that included tips). I had a drink at Boma that wasn't included so we used DDE for it and paid cash. I left $10 to pay for the drink and figured she could keep the change. When we went to check out there was a $10 room charge from Boma making that drink cost a total of $20! :scared1: The actual cost of the drink was like $6.50 - NOT an even $10, so she had done something really wonky. The front desk was completely UNhelpful, and the manager at Boma wasn't a barrel of sunshine, either. Of course I couldn't find the blasted receipt. The manager did finally reverse the charge, but when you leave cash you really sort of open yourself up to the waitstaff charging your room anyway! Then you have to PROVE that the charge was not supposed to be put through! This time if we left cash I wrote CASH on the tip line.

I haven't given the Wii Fit to Laura yet, because I am waiting for a pair of Converse sneakers that I ordered for her birthday to arrive. Matthew is dying for her to get it, though. I'm not sure I want my weight announced to my family, but I'll probably do it once I see everyone else playing with it. I am practically addicted to Brain Age 2 on the DS.

I am glad that I put all the tips on the room card and saved receipts. My original plan was to pay the tips in cash, because I know that wait staff generally prefer cash tips. Then I was worried about the amount of cash I had with me, so I used the room charge. I think writing CASH across the tip line is a good plan.

You can set it up so that you have to enter a code to play under your Mii, that way no one can see any of your info if you don't want. It also comes with leg extensions for use on carpet.

Yes!!! Thanks for that information! :cool1: We'll need the leg extensions, too. I was wondering how it would work on our carpet.

Cute pictures, Amy. I thought Noah and Matty's pictures were the same kid, until I read further!

Chanon - No no! You are not allowed to be sick. Go away flu!:wizard: :wizard:

If you all could say a prayer for Kristen, a friend of mine from high school, I'd appreciate it. We lost touch after we both got married (her most recently, in 2006) and I just found out that her husband, Joel, has been battling lymphoma since January. He was set to undergo 'maintenance' chemo this fall (was in remission), but he had some awful symptoms the other day and went to the ED, only to find another large node/lesion. They didn't anticipate it recurring so quickly, but can't figure anything else that it could be. Needless to say, they're both pretty scared..:guilty:
:wizard: :wizard:

Terry - Lots of nice photos! Looks like you all had a good time! :goodvibes

Debbie - I was wondering if the Wii Fit would work on the carpet. Actually, DH brought that up.

Boy I'm exhausted. Thankfully football practice was canceled tonight, so I didn't have to rush through open house. We met the teachers, found the rooms and their desks and dropped of the supplies. Our school district has started a wonderful thing with an online lunch account. I can log in with my kids' number, see how much money is in their acct., add money to it, and see what they are buying at lunch. Plus there is a new online school site called schoolfusion, where you can log in to each classroom and get all sorts of info from the teacher. Anyone have a school district that uses it? I'm looking forward to it. From there we went to the ballet studio to get Alyssa a new leotard before class starts next week. Then home to showers and bed. I just now sat down to relax. I'm sure I'll be asleep before long.

Tammi - We just have Snap Grades, which is an online grade book. And it only works if the teachers actually take the time to put the grades in! It seems like it wasn't operational last year until after open house. DS never does anything with school lunches, but I do think there is some sort of account system. Ironic, since they seem to want the kids to carry wads of cash for everything else!

I am glad you could see the pictures. That was almost 70 pictures in the space of about 35 minutes. Not bad for three little boys. I like the one of all of us since that was a one shot deal. My favorite was the one of the feet.

I am finally home. I have read every single post and WOW were you all talkative!

Amy - the pictures of the kids were so cute. Thanks for posting them all!

Terry - what a handsome family you have. It looks as if that was a trip full of love and delight.

Tammy - I am glad Open House went well and teachers are good and football is going well. It is hard to believe Nicholas is old enough to play that sport!

Jennifer - YIPPEE for a trip to Chicago! I like your new signature collage.

Sounds like lot os the DDA and their friends and family need hugs and pixie dust. I am sending all I have!

I am utterly exhausted. Too tired to even explain why. So I am going to go to bed and I will talk to you all in the morning. Have great evenings, friends!

Dang, I'm good!!

I hope mom is well.

I am trying to decide whether if I should email the music teacher at Emma's school in regards to a field trip they have. The permission slips got sent home yesterday and on there it said that they had 3 slots for chaperons on a first come first serve basis. I sent in the money and slip first thing this morning and Emma was really excited that I could actually go (the boys will be in Disney that week). Emma came home all sad and said that I couldn't go, the spots had already been filled. I can almost guarantee which 3 moms are going and they are the ones that always go. It frustrates me that the mom's that are at the school with face time are the ones that get picked. This is the 3rd time that I haven't been able to go and it's annoying. Of course we can still go if we choose to drive up there and pay for parking but it's not the same thing. :headache: Should I let it go?

I would definitely call and explain the situation. If she still says no then I would tell her to consider me the first to volunteer for the next trip. If it turns out you can't go you can cancel then, but she will have no more excuses :thumbsup2

Very nice. I love it when everyone's outfits coordinate

Amy I love you photos too. Matty and Noah could be twins too

Beth I'm glad that your results were normal though I would have had a coronary when I saw that bill :scared:

Elin I hope all is ok

Chanon get better soon. That sore throat, fever thing is going around here too. My nephew has it now.

:wizard:  to everyone. I think we could all use some now.

Work was better tonight. At least I came home in a good mood. I even got to the store and bought the new curtain rods. Now I can install and shorten the curtains tomorrow. Chris thinks I need to stop shopping. He is very happy with all the home improvements, but there is a rather large price tag that accompanies that. Of course I pointed out that if we had hired out the work it would have been MUCH more expensive :rolleyes1
