DDA Chapter 11

I forgot to mention, Fay took a more northerly path and all we got was some wind and rain. We definitely have to keep and eye on TD #7, it's headed right up hurricane alley.

Sounds like a good first day! I just hope, for both your sakes, that things continue to stay as positive as they are today! Good luck with the PE thing. I hated PE in jr. high. It was much better in high school. I'm not sure why, but Jr. high was horrible.

I hated PE always. Still do. I think it is a ridiculous requirement. What REALLY chapped me was PE in college. I had to PAY to take PE! Anyway, hopefully DS will get through the PE requirement without too much drama. I only had to take one year in high school. I didn't even make an effort to participate. I just showed up.

Stay safe, Debbie!! :wizard:

We had PE in college too, but it was more flexible. I took Line Dancing and Bob took golf. :teeth:

so what site do I use to get hotels cheap and how do I find out if they are rat traps or not??

Thanks Glynis.

Sounds like my parents. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down, and sometimes you have to accept graciously! I think you have chosen wisely; farmer's market, ok; Disney trip, no! You're a good daughter and it sounds like you have a good mother, too!

Elizabeth, :wizard: that school stays good for DS.

I think a nice sun dress would be prefect

Tammi I thought of painting the bottom wall, but it wouldn't look right with the wall paper above. It's funny because Hunter's walls are red and his curtains are lime green, but it works because of the comforter and valance. Maybe I need tiebacks with the blue wall color in them :confused3

See what I mean

I LOVE Hunter's room though I hated it while I was painting it. It was the accessories that pulled it together.

ETA: He now has a lime green shag rug beside his bed too. It's about 2 ft X 3 ft or so.

I'm thinking maybe if you added some kind of valance at the top of the sheer curtains. That might be enough to tie it all together. The rest of the room looks great.

Deb - I really like the room, but I think the yellow needs to be BRIGHT yellow, like Donald's bill and feet. That would pop the colors more. Right now I think the whole room is a little pastel for the Cars theme and a little boy. Is that the feeling you are getting?

That was exactly my thought!

So here's a question for y'all. Do you and/or your family make every bed in the house every day? I'm trying to get my boys (Chris included) onboard with this since I think it makes the house look alot neater. We haven't done so in years as there has always been more important things to deal with with little kids. Now that they are older I think it would be nice. Nick and Chris both feel it is unnecessary as "we are just going to get back into them". So what do you do in your homes?

Yes, we make every bed in every room of the house every day. I agree that it makes the room/house look more pulled together.

For one thing mom is always yelling if you need food just come over and take whatever you need. And when I didn't do that with the bacon just last week, woo.

Today we stopped by a local farmer market and she just had to buy my tomato and a head of lettuce.

These are but a few things. The biggest being she didn't buy a house for such a long time, because if something happened to her, Dawn would get the house and she didn't have one for me. :confused3 John told her I didn't need a house because we bought one together.

I think she feels I am being slighted, because Dawn still lives at home. But Dawn is the one taking care of her the most and I am married after all.

I never complain, but most times just wont let her buy things. She is after all on a fixed income and John makes good money for the area and what he does. But sometimes I will give in, like today.

She actually thinks that the next Disney trip she is paying, over my dead body.

You will always be your mother's child. No matter how old you get. You want to do things evenly for them and be fair.

I see both sides because my mother is helping out my sister right now and she feels like I'm being slighted. She goes so far as to feel bad because I'm not getting "equal" time from her. I've told her that my sister needs her and I don't. It isn't an issue. The money isn't an issue either.

Then on the other hand I do exactly the same thing with my children. If I buy something for one, I feel that I should do the same for the other. I like to buy things for my girls because it makes me feel needed.

I think Mugglenet.com thinks that it was because of the writers/directors strike earlier this year...Apparently it put the whole post production behind schedule (yet they had NO PROBLEM getting the trailer done and STILL on :headache: ).

Just so long as the movie is still on. I'll miss seeing it in the fall though - June is too weird. I'm used to getting the book in June and the movie in Nov.

Oh well!

Yes, it should be coming out around Nov. 16. I got to see one on my birthday and another the day before my birthday. I'm really in withdrawals for Harry since the books are over. It is weird not having something to look forward to read.

Well my P5 is over. :lmao: Why is it when I'm here, no one else seems to be?

I'm here, Vicki! Just in and out. I'm going through baby clothes, and supervising a play date. We just had a family move into the neighborhood with 5 girls. The twins are in heaven since one of them is just their age. She's a darling girl. So polite!!! They are playing Barbies right now. Leslie and Sidney are taking turns being the Island Princess and Mary is the Prince. They've also discovered the apples on our tree in the yard. It's so fun to watch them and listen to them!

does anyone know what kind of ID I should take for Virginia? When we flew in 06 I did not have ID for Olivia but she was old enough she could tell them her name if she chose to. I checked the TSA sight but did not see anything on their.
