I just got off the phone with my girlfriend, she is an assistant at Mo's preschool. She wanted to know if I had my 4 year degree, which I don't, as they are looking for a new teacher. Anyway, I asked if they are looking for any assistants. She wasn't sure so she called the director and the director said she'll be calling me sometime today or tomorrow. It may not be much but it may be a start. I'd just have to work something out with my aunt to watch Lucy and Mo for the few hours.
Tomorrow night I am going to an inventory company that is hiring for an interview. When I worked in retail we used the company all the time for our inventories so I am a bit familiar with the job. They have a weekday or weekend schedule option of either 6pm or 9:30pm til about 2:30am (the shift ends when the inventory ends).
I think a combo of these would give me what I need to stop watching the boys. So if you've a bit of good thoughts to spare I'd appreciate them.![]()
Good luck with your decisions. I'd hate for you to have to miss your weekends with your family doing inventory (I really hate inventory, myself) so sending lots of PD that you can find a good fit during the week.
So I found the masks.![]()
One thing found. I really gotta pack. It is much easier said then done given my gimpy state. I go to one room to pack, but then realize things are in another room. I get distracted in the other room or decide to sit down as standing on one leg for lengths of time is difficult. Or balancing or both with crutches is difficult. Then I can not take the items to the other room unless I have a backpack to transport things. It is very slow going. Considering it is one of my least favorite things, it is just totally unpleasant.
Also if you could send good thoughts my Dad's way that would be appreciated he has been having stomach issues. He went for some tests today. He has a doctor's appointment yet tonight. I hope everything is OK and he starts feeling better so he can enjoy the trip.
I hope that all of you are doing well.

I could use the powers of the DDA please... Dana has his interview for the NC position on Thursday. If anyone can send some good thoughts this way it would be much appreciated. We have talked about it alot & think it might be a good thing for us. All the kids are on board with the idea too. If we don't move then fine but we are all excited about it if it does happen.
Sounds like a great opportunity. Sending lots of PD and prayers for Dana for the interview and for the decisions to be made!

Once you get through the unpleasant task of packing you will be off on a grand adventure![]()
It seems many of the DDA and or Families are searching for better career opportunities. I wonder if unrest is in the airI wish you all well. I need to get finger printed for the school as I am hoping to be a part time sub this year. The extra money would be greatly welcomed as I am no longer doing daycare for my niece and nephew. I am fortunate at the moment to be getting a lot of nights at the restaurant, but customers are down and even the ones coming have cut back on tips. I am probably still making less this year than I did last year though I'm working more hours. I seem to go through the debate about how I could work morning, but still be able to pick up Colby at 11 AM. So far I have no good ideas other than occasional sub. If anyone has any suggestions please enlighten me

Deb -- are you a morning person? The babysitter that helps me during the summer opens up a local daycare, then leaves between 10:30 and 11 to go home and homeschool her kids, run errands etc. If Chris could get the kids off to school, maybe you could do something like that, then be around the rest of the day. I'm not sure what her pay is, but it maybe something like that might work? PD for your decisions.
Nothing much here. The heat is a little less lately -- I think we'll get to 96 or so today. The Orkin people dropped by yesterday (awfully good of them, since they were supposed to be at the house the day before), so I'm slowly getting more things done. It's been nice to pick up the kids from robot camp, go home, do a few light things around the house, get some work done, then settle down to watch the Olympics at night without sitting outside for a sports practice. I plan to thorougly enjoy the next couple of weeks before soccer starts.
Have a good day everyone!
