DDA Chapter 10

I just got off the phone with my girlfriend, she is an assistant at Mo's preschool. She wanted to know if I had my 4 year degree, which I don't, as they are looking for a new teacher. Anyway, I asked if they are looking for any assistants. She wasn't sure so she called the director and the director said she'll be calling me sometime today or tomorrow. It may not be much but it may be a start. I'd just have to work something out with my aunt to watch Lucy and Mo for the few hours.

Tomorrow night I am going to an inventory company that is hiring for an interview. When I worked in retail we used the company all the time for our inventories so I am a bit familiar with the job. They have a weekday or weekend schedule option of either 6pm or 9:30pm til about 2:30am (the shift ends when the inventory ends).

I think a combo of these would give me what I need to stop watching the boys. So if you've a bit of good thoughts to spare I'd appreciate them. :goodvibes

Good luck with your decisions. I'd hate for you to have to miss your weekends with your family doing inventory (I really hate inventory, myself) so sending lots of PD that you can find a good fit during the week.

So I found the masks.:cool1: :cool1: One thing found. I really gotta pack. It is much easier said then done given my gimpy state. I go to one room to pack, but then realize things are in another room. I get distracted in the other room or decide to sit down as standing on one leg for lengths of time is difficult. Or balancing or both with crutches is difficult. Then I can not take the items to the other room unless I have a backpack to transport things. It is very slow going. Considering it is one of my least favorite things, it is just totally unpleasant.

Also if you could send good thoughts my Dad's way that would be appreciated he has been having stomach issues. He went for some tests today. He has a doctor's appointment yet tonight. I hope everything is OK and he starts feeling better so he can enjoy the trip.

I hope that all of you are doing well.

:wizard: for your Dad and packing!

I could use the powers of the DDA please... Dana has his interview for the NC position on Thursday. If anyone can send some good thoughts this way it would be much appreciated. We have talked about it alot & think it might be a good thing for us. All the kids are on board with the idea too. If we don't move then fine but we are all excited about it if it does happen.

Sounds like a great opportunity. Sending lots of PD and prayers for Dana for the interview and for the decisions to be made!

:wizard: :wizard:

Once you get through the unpleasant task of packing you will be off on a grand adventure :goodvibes

It seems many of the DDA and or Families are searching for better career opportunities. I wonder if unrest is in the air :confused3 I wish you all well. I need to get finger printed for the school as I am hoping to be a part time sub this year. The extra money would be greatly welcomed as I am no longer doing daycare for my niece and nephew. I am fortunate at the moment to be getting a lot of nights at the restaurant, but customers are down and even the ones coming have cut back on tips. I am probably still making less this year than I did last year though I'm working more hours. I seem to go through the debate about how I could work morning, but still be able to pick up Colby at 11 AM. So far I have no good ideas other than occasional sub. If anyone has any suggestions please enlighten me :flower3:

Deb -- are you a morning person? The babysitter that helps me during the summer opens up a local daycare, then leaves between 10:30 and 11 to go home and homeschool her kids, run errands etc. If Chris could get the kids off to school, maybe you could do something like that, then be around the rest of the day. I'm not sure what her pay is, but it maybe something like that might work? PD for your decisions.

Nothing much here. The heat is a little less lately -- I think we'll get to 96 or so today. The Orkin people dropped by yesterday (awfully good of them, since they were supposed to be at the house the day before), so I'm slowly getting more things done. It's been nice to pick up the kids from robot camp, go home, do a few light things around the house, get some work done, then settle down to watch the Olympics at night without sitting outside for a sports practice. I plan to thorougly enjoy the next couple of weeks before soccer starts.

Have a good day everyone!

Thanks for the pixie dust everyone..I will keep you posted.

So the kids are packed, preordered the photopass CD, printed all documents & directions, charged camera battery, cell phones, & Ipod for Katie. I just need to clean the house a bit so I do not come home to a mess. We are all excited. I just want to be there already!!!:goodvibes

I am taking the kids to the pool & then to a local burger joint that everyone goes to for homemade burgers, fries, & onion rings. Everything is made fresh daily, the place is tiny & the lines al always out the door..but very yummy.

Have a beautiful day!

Deb,

That was my dilemma with working too...TDS works out well since they give me 10-2 on weekdays. The weekend however I have to give them full avalabilty which most of the time I do not mind..However I ended up taking off alot of Saturdays in a row in the spring so I could go to Daniel's baseball games & the girl's dances. This is no way I could miss those things...thats what stinks about working on weekends & holidays. I want to be home with the kids but help out alittle with money too....It's a tough balancing act.

I think if you only have til 11 some sort of baby sitting or taking in others kids to watch in the morning & maybe take to school might be something that would work. I hope you can find something that fits your schedule.:goodvibes

I agree I hate working Holidays. Especially Christmas

Becky - Glad you found your mask! I hope that the packing comes together for you quickly. I know that it can't be easy. What a trip, though!

Anne Marie - Sounds like you're about ready. Have a great trip!!!

Beth and Bernadette - I hope that you both have wonderful trips as well!

Jennifer - Hope the girls find their sleeping abilities again soon.

Beth, Bernadette and Ann Marie have a great trip. Can't wait to see Pictures!

Thanks!

I'm still not ready which is so not me! I've got my checked bags all packed so I just have to pull together my carry on. The last set of batteries are charging. I charged my ipod but need to charge the kids nintendos. I need to make back ups of my photos so I can erase my memory sticks.

I need to go the PO to get a few LONG overdue packages in the mail.

I made Joe a T with appliqued Mickey head in Wall E fabric and Emma a Wall E sundress this morning. Just need to make Lizzy one last top-should be very easy and its all cut out.

Then I need to clean the house up a bit as my MIL & SIL are staying here a few days while they have work done on their house.

I finally went to the doctor last Thursday for my sinus problem. I am just getting relief from my earache today. The meds have been making me sick and tired. I really didn't have time for this. I took today off so I could get ready for the trip. I was hoping to save that vacation day for after Christmas but I really needed today off.

Lots of  and :wizard: for all of you!

Anne Marie-can't wait to see you again!

Anne Marie - I hope you enjoyed the burger joint!

Bernadette - I sure hope you are feeling better now! You are going to WDW!!! Have a ball!

Beth - Did I miss you? I hope not! Have a WONDERFUL trip!

Okay I am so computer illiterate I am trying to design Invitations for tink to leave in the room for our different meals. The ones that I have found on the boards require a lot of ink. So I am trying to make my own. I cannot figure out how to make borders. insert smiley pulling out hair.

Bernadette or Ann Marie what was the other place you ordered stuff from. I remember it started with an M.

On our way there in a few minutes!

Jen,
Good luck at the Dr's tomorrow.

Anne Marie - I left out my best wishes for Dana's interview! I hope that everything works out for the best and you have some answers soon as well.

Jen - Lots of prayers and :wizard: for your appt. I really hope that your jaw is okay.

Jennifer - I think that is is www.minimus.biz Or something close to that at least.

bingo thanks Tia. I kept thinking it had a B in it. No wonder I could not find it.

I just went over my interview with one of the ladies here...she was a headhunter before she retired (she's so good the company still emails her jobs to fill). She said I handled the interview perfectly and that it was great that it was an hour long.

I am hoping they make their decision by tomorrow because I think I would die waiting until the Director came back from vacation to find out. :scared:

Oh sounds very promising!!! Good luck,

I gotta go pack. I gotta scan passports and make copies. I gotta print some other stuff. Lots to do too little time. Our flight is tomorrow at 5:50pm.  :cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: Accomplishing anything is difficult. I am still supposed to work tomorrow. I have a conference call from 3-4pm. I will be calling on my way to the airport.

My Dad has diverticulitis, so he is pretty miserable. I think the stuff he had to drink to have the tests done made things worse. I just hope he feels better, as this trip was his idea.

I gotta try and accomplish something. TTYL
