Today has been a really fun day! The kids and I got up really early to go stake out our spots for the Alpine Days parade. We got prime spots in the shade, and then got the twins to the head of the parade so they could ride on their aunt's float. They love that! Katie and Jacob opted to stay with me and gather candy thrown to the crowd.
The parade was fun and we ended up with a 2 gallon ziploc baggie full to the top of candy, beads, bouncy balls and finger puppets. After we finished up there, we went to the city park where the kids proceeded to bounce on all kinds of bouncy slides and watery slides. They got SOAKED! But it was a hot day, so no problem there!
We bought some lunch (pizza for the kids, bbq sandwich for me), then snow cones for dessert. By then, I was getting tired, so we headed for home. Got home in time to watch the Olympics and rest.
Now the kids are eating dinner, and I'm waiting for the Olympics to start again. Got to cheer Michael Phelps on!!!
awesome day, Glynis!!

School starts Monday for the kids, and I started work this past Monday. We just finished packing up all the kids' supplies for Monday. We met their teachers yesterday, and I hear that we have the top 3 2nd grade teachers (sucking up to the right people pays off!). They are super excited. BK got a new HSM lunch box and a Camp Rock backpack. The boys are sticking with their blue and orange from last year. We went to dinner tonight to celebrate going back to school since I work Sat and Sun nights. They are letting me leave an hour early so I can be home to put them on the bus the 1st day.
The vomiting has let up, so now we're just at diarrhea, fevers, colds and reflux. We're getting somewhere
Now I am really worried about her. Please keep her in your thoughts!
so I was just calling it a vacation at home. But of course, while I'm at home, it's not like I'm off of work or anything.... so vacation didn't seem right.
