did you guys hear about that absolutely gruesome murder on a greyhound bus?

few times have I heard a story whereas I thought I would scream...this was one

I read about that, I couldn't even imagine being on that bus :scared1:

Hello, DDA! I haven't had much time to read here, and I really starting to feel a little panic about how quickly the 13th will be here! But I must admit that I took a good chunk of last night and today to read Breaking Dawn, the newest "Twilight" book. I am taking it a little easy today because I think I have otitis externa (swimmer's ear), and it hurts. I guess I'll be calling the doctor's office tomorrow. I HATE going to the dr.

Beth I hope you get your ear taken care of quickly :wizard:

So I'm heading out of town for work bright and early tomorrow morning. Of course I don't think it's really going to be that bright at 4:30 AM! I'm planning on going to bed at 9:00 tonight so I don't know how much I'll be on. I'll be back Friday evening. Have a great week everyone!

I know I missed you, so I will see you at Disney :yay:

It's been a very sad week here. There was a triple murder about 10 miles from our house. Earlier in the week, there was a big man hunt overnight to find the man in camouflage with an assault rifle who killed three teens and injured a 4th. Roads were shut down, homes were evacuated and everything. They caught him but last I knew we didn't have any details on the reason for the murders. There were about a dozen kids hanging out at a popular swimming area and 3 ended up dead. Very sad for our community. The girls knew some of the kids in passing. So sad!! What would cause a man to dress up in camouflage and shoot down teenagers like that? :confused3

How tragic! to you all.

Vicki your camping weekend sounds like a lot of fun! Your menu looks good too :thumbsup2

Janet-be sure to use the tickets before you upgrade-that way you'll get full current value of that one day!

Thank you for the reminder! I have never done this before, after the boys use their tickets do I just upgrade them at guest services after we leave the park?

Terry & Jen if you still need the DDA list let me know!

Our internet was running really slow yesterday, so I did not get on to much. Gary & I went & bought a few more things for the kitchen last night & I bought another piece of luggage :thumbsup2 Today I will finish packing up the kitchen & for our trip. We leave tomorrow :dance3: Seems like we have been waiting forever & now it is almost here. Garrett & Riley are so excited & I really have butterflies in my tummy now!

Good Morning. I'm up and moving. Man I hate mornings :sad2: I need to get the kids up soon. It doesn't look too warm out yet so I hope that swimming isn't too cold today. Of course we still have lots of rain in the forecast:sad2:

Good morning.

Tammi,
Hope the week goes by fast.

Janet,
Wow 1 more day!

Jennifer,
Elise is so strong!

Have a great day DDA.

GOod morning everyone-
I have lots going on today, wihch is good because I dont want to just sit and be a bum . Im starting to get really nervous about the surgery tomorrow so i think its best to stay busy today. stupid surgery hahaha

Jen,
You will be fine. Try not to worry & yes, keep busy today. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for tomorrow.

Bernadette,
I am going to quiz you about the family suites when you get back (or while you are there!:rotfl: ) I am looking at this for next summer if we go. I like the 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms...it wasn't an issue when the kids were younger but now it is....also after doing the cruise & seeing how great it was to have our own room really made me give the suites a good look.

I read a rumor that part of CBR might be suites but now I do not see anything on that at the new pirate themed rooms so I guess not. That would have been cool.

Thanks guys..i know its not a big deal and that it is stupid to worry like this..but i think with everything going on with joe, things just are driving me nuts...

I was reading through my paperwork this morning..i may have a "mickey mouse like" voice for a few days..ooo geez!!!

I don't have time to write up a trip report, but I thought I'd share a couple of photos from our first 2 days.

Day 1 was basically just a long day of driving from home to Dayton, OH. We stopped in Erie, PA for lunch at Chick-Fil-A (first time for all of us), but I didn't take any pictures. Sorry. I really enjoyed it, but the rest of the family didn't think it was all that great.

The kids in our first hotel room (Country Inns and Suites-Dayton North)

Our "healthy" dinner that evening. Also a first for us. YUM!

The next day we drove to the St. Louis area. Our hotel was a Fairfield by Marriott in Fairview Heights, IL. It took about 20-30 mins from there to the Arch.

There goes Indianapolis...

Our first view of the Arch. It's there...you have to look for it. ;)

Our first view of the Mississippi River as we cross it.

Here is the Arch a bit closer.

The impossibly small door to our tiny tram. It appeared smaller than it really was, because I fit with no problems.
IMG_7664.jpg

This gives you a little feel for the size of the tram and the "trapped" feeling you have while in it. It also looks a little old and worn and makes clunking noises and jerks. Laura really doesn't like being trapped and doesn't rate this experience as a highlight of the trip. The rest of us thought it was great!

We made it to the top!
